hydrangea, nasturtium!
meme // accepting
hydrangea :   how much does your muse value communication in their relationships with others ?  are they prone to being misunderstood ?
Even on his best days there are times Jing Beiyuan speaks in half truths , and on his worst it is simply lies upon lies. His communication is in a word awful, though perhaps it is not surprising considering saying what you mean is another way to seal your own untimely demise.
The contradiction here is that Jing Beiyuan finds it utterly endearing when someone will boldly tell him the truth , even if it does not fall within his own sense of propriety. In a place where everyone lies, clear communication is truly the oasis in the desert.
This of course, does not signify his own ability to speak truthfully to his own feelings , but all in all misunderstandings are really the lesser of his communication issues as he has a significant amount of ego, mistrust, deceit, and false omnipotence to shed.
nasturtium :   describe your muse’s relationship with their birthplace ,   or homeland
— like mutual destruction, like a suicide pact, like fighting fire with fire until it is an inferno that brings all to the ground.
To speaks of his homeland is to speak of his circumstances of birth as well; they are in a sense, inseparable. Jing Beiyuan was never so much tied to the land , but rather entangled for merely existing as he did. Were he born here, and not Prince Nan’ning, this land which saw his first breath would perhaps not become his own personal self inflicting curse.
His homeland poisons him, but in turn, he poisons it at well. Simply put, there is no good ending here. Everything wrong with the Great Qing is wrong with him too. — And it is by precedent led facts that as long as he is tied to his birthplace, it will inevitably be his site of death as well — and yet, he cannot leave it except perhaps when a hand is cast out in aid.

@ghosturned pt.3 THE FINAL ONE, and also my personal fave //  meme ( accepting )
abatina :   is there anything in life your muse has changed their mind about over time   (  due to becoming more educated on the topic ,   certain experiences  ,   etc . ) ,  or that they   would   change their mind about under certain circumstances ?
LOVE  — alone, isn’t enough.
There was a time when Jing Beiyuan thought if he could only dig deep into his chest, pass his ribcage, further than his lungs, deep, deep, down until he could lay his heart out on a dish and say, this is what I would do for you , that he would never have to ask do you know I love you?
He never dared hope to see that man’s heart in turn. The only thing Jing Beiyuan had expected was a nod, and an I know. ( and if he wished in the secret of the starless nights that maybe, just maybe, one day that man could kiss him with the barest trace of hunger, affection promised in interlaced fingers  — well it is something he will never speak of. A wish is only a wish after all. )
Consider this, he would say to his past self  — can a flame burn without wood, without oxygen? Can you love without stability, without life? Don’t love at all, if you haven’t learned putting out fires is far more difficult than starting them.
Jing Beiyuan knows if somehow his message could transcend time directly into the hands of his former self, he would have but a singular thing to say, but I love him.
— but love alone, was never enough. ( and yet still, he cannot quite answer what else is needed. )

@ghosturned pt.2 //  meme ( accepting )
carnation :   what is your muse’s relationship with their gender ? how do they express or not express this relationship ?
Jing Beiyuan was of the opinion that an individual was never quite truly aware of one’s self quite as much as when the flesh was being tugged off of you, muscles exposed and porcelain bone glistening. Your entire life condensed into a singular purpose, to be a novelty adorning the shoulders of some woman. His sense of self had been altered throughout the passing years — so what was a little thing like gender ? When one had been an insect, fox, dog, stalks of jasmine — what role couldn’t he play ? and so there was little left to do, but to do as he could ( or as he pleased ) regardless of which suit of flesh, or lack there of was granted; which was a rather fortunate at the end of the day considering he quite liked the title of being a father , and yet , held no qualms about being a wife either.

@ghosturned tyty for sending <3 //  meme ( accepting )
acanthus :   is your muse deceptive ,   or willing to lie or deceive to achieve certain means ? why or why not ?
Deception is only the beginning. The only limit to what he would do to pursue a singular goal is the limit of that which he himself can accept  — and in his time he has learned how to accept many, many things. While he does not enjoy hurting others for the sake of senseless pain, it can be said he certainly enjoys every piece falling into its proper place. Guilt will fester like an open wound, failure itself will be the executioner’s axe. It isn’t difficult to choose a route.
bluebell :   does your muse learn from their past ,   or are they prone to repeating the same mistakes ?
He is learned , so he claims. He shall live a life of leisure, one of no worries, a happy good-for-nothing. Also, in the plan is: casually aiding in assassinations, elaborate set-ups, and overturning the royal courts until up is down, and down is up. I suppose one could say he certainly has learned from his past, but it does little to stop him from repeating the same mistakes.
