Of course I love my tote bag from @Zuri, but even more, I love stopping by Redeemer’s Church community garden to see what is ready for harvest. The Kale has been my favorite! I receive what is present as a gift from the earth — the womb of the Divine. I eat the gift that shows up and I am thankful in a deeply soulful way. There is something about knowing where your food comes from! (at Redeemer's A.M.E. Zion Church) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEj9Oa8D_Kf/?igshid=o87bc0yoyf09

Better to trust a thief than a Liar is a phrase my grandmother would share. This is a heartfelt observation in this season of my life watching American politics. https://www.instagram.com/p/CEIYg2yDNJ_/?igshid=1h0zd37ql7n3k

One of my favorite spaces in the pandemic is my “reading chair.” When I dive into delicious reading I set myself up for an intellectual journey. Where do you set yourself for the deep dive? #soulpreneur https://www.instagram.com/p/CEEWSm1jIfK/?igshid=1eu730jp9u0ki

Today was my nerdy great day talking to Ashleigh Miller, co-founder of @zurikenya! They have the most amazing dresses! We talked about the amazing social enterprise she and Sandra Zhao founded just 3.5 years ago and the values they operate with! Of ALL the amazing Zuri dresses to choose from — we showed up with the same dress! To listen to the interview — go to my website in bio or visit revdrshelley.link/Zuri. #soulpreneur #zuri #justonedress https://www.instagram.com/p/CDUmD8dDobJ/?igshid=1an2a0zturzfx

Let’s talk about it. Black Women and White women —as a collective — need to clear the air and work together. Sadly, I’ve encountered more than my share of non-black women who found it difficult to accept my role as a leader. Unconscious racism causes some of these sisters to think they should be the boss of me because of the color of THIER skin. I even had one staff person come in MY office, stand over my desk, tell me off and then storm out of MY office and slam MY door. (I helped her see she was not a good fit for the organization.) Would it be possible for us to talk about the legacy of horizontal violence — to begin to heal our challenged relationship? #ebonyandivory #womentowomen #canwetalkwithouttears (at Hartford, Connecticut) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCm5XgGDj1-/?igshid=sff9n4dorxbj
