Welcome to Positively HORCIC, this is an exclusive peer support group for MSM Living with HIV. We decided to form this group on the 5th January 2019 to learn, share, care and provide support. House of Rainbow currently support over 250 MSM and others PLHIV in over 18 countries. This chat group will help us respond to questions and clarify any doubts about living with HIV. You are welcomed to this group, please make note of the rules below. Our Rules: 1. Confidentiality must be Paramount and Incase anyone wants to seek further help for a member they should first seek consent from the person who needed help. 2. Respect for each other’s opinion(s) 3. Do not post unrelated matters in this group, no chain messages or adverts. 4. No sexualised chat or cruising in the group. 5. More rules to follow. OUR aim is to debunk HIV myths and help each other live positively. Note: We have created the group for HIV positive MSM and others and calling it Positively HORCIC, it’s an open group which means people’s details will be exposed to those in the group only. HIV is still a sensitive matter but with so much work we have done over the years we have come a long way and better informed. We invite you to be each other’s keeper and help end #HIVStigma. This has been a perfect week in many ways. Spending time with colleagues from diverse sectors of sexual, human rights etc. Catching up with many and engaging with new people. Cape Town is so relax, loving and kind to me. Waking up to the mountain view provided calm and watching the sunset was just divine. I give thanks to God, the universe and my ancestors. I shared one of my act of kindness with a colleague. This often doesn’t cost anything. When you stay in these hotels, you are given toiletries, complimentary drinks, cookies, tea and several items. Collect them every day and give them to local people, or anyone. Give away some of your own clothing’s, your own toiletries as too often we don’t need them. The work of Challenging All kinds of criminalisation globally is huge, I have learnt that even those in the dock must be afforded dignity and not all criminal convictions solve the problems. We must also always look at alternatives to criminalisation. Watching the documentary “I am Sheriff” left me with a desire for extensive visibility. I also learnt that “Your hate will not make me straight!”, “Get your religion out of my biology” is a slogan. Good bye Cape Town, I look forward to London, home sweet home. RELIGIOUS HOMOPHOBIA and wickedness in high places. I couldn’t stop thinking about the many priests that are being dismissed, their ordination license withdrawn, publicly humiliated and endangered by the Anglican Church of Nigeria. I was informed that many more are being investigated. Mostly on false accusation of “homosexual practices”. I have reached out to a few of the victims and they informed me that they were falsely accused, their vocation halted, their livelihood stopped and families disgraced, some were publicly beaten and left with life threatening injuries. A few more tells me they have considered committing suicide due to the pressure of abuse from the public and other church members. I am angry, I am livid, I am worried! The irony, Next month I will be ordained an Anglican priest in the Church of England. I am homosexual and Nigerian, my anxiety hinges on the level of injustices and the treatment of clergies who identify or perceived to be same gender loving. Should I be happy or should I be mad. Micah said to the church and people, “What does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, love mercy and walk in humility with God”. NIGERIA: I am receiving very terrible news that several number of priests are being expelled and publicly humiliated by the Church of Nigeria, for “homosexual practices”. If you know any of these priests. We need to reach them urgently to provide pastoral care and support at this difficult time. It is important to affirm that all priests are called and ordained by God regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity. If you have any information please contact us. Every year we are reminded to stand in solidarity for LGBTQ folks around the world on May 17th, to stand against injustices, fear and violence, to celebrate the heroes and sheroes and theyroes. It is important to know that the fight for injustice is not over until the world changes, there must be legal reforms and decriminalisation of homosexuality. We must see the introduction of legal provisions, education in our schools and communities, societal regulations for inclusion, diversity and equality. LGBTQ people can love same sex and live in peace without threats of harm, assaults, death, unjust laws, religious abuses, threats of spiritual healing or conversion therapy and all forms of discrimination. #IDAHOBIT2019, #WeRememberThem, #LoveWins, #LoveIsLove (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxjfIJ0n0te/?igshid=1xx7canzt9vi9

My Stonewall porcelain mug was confiscated at Kinshasa airport in Congo. I was nervous as they muttered to me in French that this is an offensive and dangerous weapon. What was more of my concern at the time was the writing on the mug. It was a gift for my friend Phuti in South Africa. I had been in the city of Kinshasa in solidarity with the LGBT community, three days of seminars workshops and celebration. So I was prepared if interrogated to say LGBT is a sandwich thanks to Marks & Spencer. Happy Pride. Be camp, be effeminate, be outrageous and be fabulous. I have had to deal with toxic masculinity as a gay and other forms abuse where I was told I wasn’t man enough. People have told me to walk properly, when I had long hair they treated me with contempt. I was told to speak and talk like a man. I never enjoyed the traditional male oriented sports, am not macho enough in certain circles. So when you address me as Sir, and other male pronoun, it triggers anxieties and stress. I enjoy and love my effeminate self and will continue to be me for me. (at Benoni, Gauteng, South Africa) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxUk8RVHG3-/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=qtvlmea205p8

Coming out as gay has a great price and I know now what it’s worth. I have no regrets I wish I came out sooner but God’s time will always be accurate. I believe when you come out, it is possible to avoid long lasting pains and anxieties. It may be different for everyone depending on your social location. So find the right time for yourself. Stepping out of the darkness into the light of my homosexuality, there has been calls for my execution by people who don’t know me, using their radio and TV programmes to weaponise their hate, public opinions were extremely judgmental and inhumane, my thoughts in all of this is, Whose Report will you believe, and what would Jesus do to a homo? Read this Sermon!! Click here... http://revrowlandjidemacaulay.blogspot.com/2013/03/whose-report-will-you-believe.html?m=1, if you are struggling and need someone to talk to about your sexuality and faith, contact us @houseofrainbow_ (at La Capitale) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxBzjKUnfGa/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1jk6nlhj3ucj8
