Decluttering Distractions and Redefining Productivity
The advent of modern mobile phones is the occurrence of updated and engaging mobile applications in the digital aspects. Little did we know that social media apps, such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and more, harm most users. In research I had read conducted by the Harvard University, Social media researchers have found that the emotional well-being of chronic users and their lives is adversely affected by social media relations and academic achievement among those still in an educational environment. While many students are still in the academe, using phones is not always a good idea. Students and teachers may say that it is for academic purposes, but they jump into social media sites and gaming apps after a moment of research. I think this is one reason why some students are less motivated because they obtained a habit on their phone that makes them unproductive for study.

As a student, this dilemma among us student is sometimes uncontrollable if we don't have management that can reduce the addiction we have on our phones. So, for my mobile apps management, I will share some tips and tricks on managing our phones for productivity.
In my first list;
Declutter Unnecessary Application – in this point, when we say unnecessary apps that can cause a disturbance to our study is Mobile Legends, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat.
Turning off Notification/Disabling sounds – these steps must halt us from being distracted by the sounds that can disturb our focus. Disabling distraction is beneficial, especially when we need to focus on our unending review for quizzes, recitations, and exams.
Organize App in a folder – fewer apps on the phone are more organize and hold us back from looking for a distraction. When managing apps, it is better to sort them in one folder only for productivity and educational apps.
Install Productivity Apps – example of productivity apps is Notion, where you can take down notes, set a reminder, unfinished academic stuff, and errands. This idea can help you navigate your activity that needs to be done on time and be more productive.
Manage Mobile Phone Usage – setting a time to browse online is a must to give our self a rest because too much energy is not healthy. Tracking time on the phone is a good habit of thinking about a productive activity beneficial for our physical and mental health.

Using a phone is not bad as long as the activity we do is productive and can help us finish some tasks in school and for business. Nowadays, many students are busy curating themselves on different social media sites that they don't know their lives are controlled by their phones. Every time they hold their phone is a dopamine effect they obtained from their habit of maximizing phone too much.

There is a quote, "Mobile phones make you closer to a person far from you, but it takes us away from sitting next to you," and indeed, let's not trade the reality for a fantasy. Let's face the important person, things, and moment we have before the curated social media apps or games on our smartphones. To have a quality of life is the relationship that we have in the real world with our family, friends, and love ones.

Savoring the Uplifting Nature of Sunrise

The sun blooms on the horizon, golden petals stretching ever outwards into the rich blue. It is the brilliant flower of the sky that warms our days. It is the invitation to a new day, that sunrise so ordinary extraordinary. - Angela Abraham
It was a stressful and unproductive term of the school year. I'm about to feel unmotivated these days. I need somehow a reminder to trigger the positive energy for me to feel this semester fruitful.
It was on May 29, 2021, at 5:00 am. I decided to wake up early to go out for a walk near our place. As I walked, I enjoyed and savored the few hours of silence and solitude.
At that moment, I'm Feeling the fresh air of the morning and trying to uplift my unmotivated spirit, hoping I can navigate why I need to fight and be strong every day.
I'm sitting on a rectangular concrete block, and I grab my phone to check what time the sun will rise and, it just about a minute before it will up. I waited for 5 minutes; finally, the refreshing and orange color of the sun came out. I also felt the radiating heat of the sun on my face. Beside where I'm sitting is an unplanted rice field, where the fantastic reflection of the sun looks the same.

I'm with my cousin at that time, and I ask him to take a photo of me with the sunrise and ask to include the sun's reflection in the rice field. And yes, I am sharing the delighting sunrise with you who are reading this right now (hahaha).
A while ago, I looked for something that can remind me to feel motivated because there are unfinished academic activities, and I need to work it out on time. Truth be told, that sunrise alone reminded me to see a situation with a silver lining. Every day is a new day and a chance to make things right and challenge ourselves to push our limits.

I was thinking why I am doing such things doesn't make sense because of academics' new setup, which is not encouraging to push my academic. But, I learned that I need to learn to embrace the mode of learning. I need to be flexible in this kind of learning because it is impossible to conduct face-to-face learning.
There you go, I let myself savor the moment with the sun in front of me. I was interpreting that the sun will rise and set. It's an everyday routine of the sun. It's like in real life, unfortunate and uncertain moments of life will come, but it never stays. There's an end to it; hold on to our dreams, and soon, we can see it as the sunrise that blooms in the sky with the clouds.

Whenever we feel disconnected from ourselves, we think that there is a reason why we feel that way. It's within us to seek why and whatever the reason is, as long as those uncertain exist like the sunrise in the morning, we will rise with a smile that resonates and inspires others.

Bits and Pieces...

Hey! what up? I hope you guys are doing fine and enjoying life at the moment. This pandemic halted everything we must be enjoying, but I wish we could still find this to see life with positive vibes through this blog. Spread positivity and keep safe always.
At this moment, I'll be talking about my ambition in general. For now, my ambition is to finish college because I know finishing studies in college is a dream of every student. College is different from High School, wherein in High School you get to hang out with friends every day, endless fun, and of course, the academic obligation is still there. While college is a little bit serious because I think it is a preparation for future life or career. College is challenging, especially now, which COVID halted everything, but thanks to technology, education continues.
My goal is to have a decent job inclined with what I'm taking in college as of the moment, which is a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Maybe in Journalism, Public Relations, or Actor if possible (fingers cross LOL). I took this course because I want to improve my communication skill and writing. After all, life in the future requires someone to be competent in speaking to land into job and more opportunities. Well, rejection is not new to everyone, and it could happen while trying to apply to a good company in the future. So yeah, as someone who wants to have a decent job, that is the reason why I took BA Communication.
I have fond of listening to the podcast; it became a part of my life. There was a massive downfall of my where I lost myself and couldn't find my worth, purpose, and awful situation. Listening to podcaster like Jay Shetty, Steven Furtick, and Anthony Pangilinan helps me understand life better. They are great motivational speakers that give encouraging piece of advice that also encourages someone to be strong and treat life as precious as gold. Another thing about my love in the podcast is I am a Christian, and I listen to Christian talks that incorporate verses from the bible, and it is refreshing and motivating.
Another hobby that I do is watching videos on YouTube, movies, and series. This is my past time, especially to fight boredom and after stressful academic stuff. But I'm only watching after I finished my obligation as a student, sibling, and friend. During my Junior Years, I am an Arnis player and a volleyball rookie player. I learned so much discipline and that kind of experience as a student-athlete and through sports, it molded me to have discipline and courage in everything that I need to overcome.
"If you're not failing, you're not pushing your limits, and if you're not pushing your limits, you're not maximizing your potential' - Ray Dalio. This is a quote I listened to from Jay Shetty in his podcast that I want to share with everyone and as a reminder to keep moving and keep pushing your limit. Soon the battle of today will conquer tomorrow with overwhelming joy and success.
