Periphery Of The Wind is an observational project documenting human intervention towards nature nature in Daendels Street, Kulon Progo, Special Region of Yogyakarta, south coast area. Since August 2021, this video-format project created by SOKONG! In collaboration with Reza Kutjh, Alwan Brilian, and Alwan Brilian.
Kulon Progo, Daendels`s south coast area, in particular, brings out questions related to ecological issues throughtout the land usage change: from sand mining, shrimp farms, fishery port, breakwaters, to the airport.
Two videos are presented as a sequence of travelogues. Both are discussing the agricultural land usage change not only by it’s tangible form-the materiality, but also trace the human intervention towards nature itself by arising questions and archiving.

Reza Kutjh who presents through a simulation of space and liminal activities as a tool to deal with conflicting times. Liminality in this work is formed in the balance between work time and work time, between the roles of archivist and artist, between busy and not busy.
In open studio “Maaf, sedang sibuk!” (“Sorry, been busy!”) Here, I work like an archiver showing the work process of digitizing family ephemera during the New Order era, and also as an artist showing archive processing work. The vacant space is reconstructed like a work studio as an archiver, thus showing the daily work activities of an artist who is practically busy and not busy. Resonating with the ASP space which is also liminal, between public or private space, between inhabited and unoccupied, making this space not fully (but at the same time) an artist's workspace and/or gallery space.

A Conversation From The Past
11 album leftover photos
This work is a fictional narrative formed from the collection of various family photographs and documents—negatives, photo prints, and notes that were kept in the period of the late 1970s-90s.
These artifacts are reservoir of memories which can project the spirit of the era in the time of New Order regime.

Kintelan 5-A
Screenprint on Paper, and 16 album leftover photos
2021
This project is compiled from abandoned documents and photographs of Mr. Arif Budiwijaya, an owner of a 1990s well-known traditional medicine and grocery store addressed in Kintelan 4A. The location of the store is a part of the Yogyakarta Royal family property. Under the royal regulation, the residents could not fully own the property. They are only ‘borrowing’ the land—which used to be the surrounding fort wall of the Sultanate Kingdom. Now, as Yogyakarta is rapidly developing into a tourism destination, this area becomes the most potential and vulnerable from eviction. The beautifying and developing tourism potentially pushed these residents into no choice but to survive under any sudden change.
