your story doesn’t have to make sense right now. neither do you. just put a guy on a horse and make him sad.

Want to write for JSTOR and get paid to do it?

Have you used JSTOR for a project in a unique or interesting way? Are you a faculty member or librarian who uses JSTOR in instruction? Got any pointers or cool techniques for incorporating JSTOR into research or even archival workflows?
If so, we want to hear from you! We're accepting submissions of drafts for blog posts, teaching resources, librarian tips, and more. Your work could be featured on the JSTOR Blog or JSTOR Daily and contribute to a wider conversation about how JSTOR supports critical thinking and deeper learning. This is a great opportunity to add a new publication to your CV/resumé and inspire peers across institutions.
We're especially interested in examples that show how JSTOR supports engagement with primary sources, the development of research skills, or interdisciplinary discovery—whether that’s through direct student use or the behind-the-scenes work that makes those moments possible.
Some more details:
Open to U.S. residents
Compensation available
Wide audience: higher ed, secondary ed, scholars, libraries, and lifelong learners

“Her corrosive magic was redirected; the prayer stone forgotten in favor of the Queen herself. The prayer stone couldn’t deny Oona’s reign if the current monarch was torn to shreds.”
the only thing going through my head as i write that:

Active writeblrs?
Yelling out into the writeblr void because I haven't been active on here in over a year and my dash is super empty, so if you're a writeblr please reblog this ♡
I especially love horror, mysteries, and really anything about queer characters!
My primary project is a southern gothic horror about a girl returning to hometown after more than a decade, which you read more about on my intro post.

Writblr Intro Post
I'm N.C. Zaversnick, which let's be real, is a pen name, but you can call me NC or some variation on that for short
I do have a partner in this project, but I'm the one y'all will be interacting with, so this intro will focus mostly on me. You can, however, follow Rachelle on Instagram @/panda.panduh.
Facts about me:
I'm a major (21+ years old)
Disabled
Queer as hell.
I use he/they pronouns.
I've been writing and drawing since I was 8. I also read a lot, mostly fantasy, though I started reading more dystopians when I began seriously working on Project Gemini.
You can follow my main blog @nczaversnick
Project Gemini is the [temporary] name for my book series, which I intend to publish someday. We're still working on book one, but we're currently planning four books in total for this series.
This is a link to the Master Post, where you will find more links to specific Project Gemini information. [Currently, this link goes to a master post on my main blog, but this will be remedied shortly as I move everything relevant over.]
In a very general sense, this is a YA dystopian series with queer characters aged 21+ with elemental based powers determined to fight for their rights or overthrow the government whichever comes first. The story follows Caspian, a water elemental, and his experience meeting this group and joining their cause. It's also worth mentioning that I've been told the world-building for this is a good example of cyberpunk. I don't know what that is, but if it's true, awesome, because it works well with the story I'm telling here.

You can now read all my stuff for free
As of now, all my books are available to download on my website in many different ebook formats (as well as on Wattpad if you prefer).
So if you like reading queer fantasy and sci-fi, my offerings include:

A sci-fi fantasy with dragons, futuristic tech and an ancient war between gods (four books, finished, currently only posted on Wattpad because I can’t put them anywhere else because of the Watties)
gay MCs
many non-white characters
grumpy man dating a ball of sunshine
a complex plot with many POVs
dragons, flying cars and swordfights

A fantasy novella series about a human kingdom taken over by tyrannical dragons (eight novellas written out of probably twenty or more)
gay MCs
bitesized self-contained adventures with overarching character development

A fantasy with elves and humans living in a world largely taken over by a dangerous, magical jungle (two books of three written)
an aroace main character
a grumpy idiot dating a trans elven wizard (in book 2)
a fully non-white cast
dual POV

A fantasy gay romance novella series about a human thief and a dragon falling in love (two books of six written)
gay MCs (obviously)
eventually will have polyamory and enemies to lovers
relatively short - both books around 40K words and I assume the trend will continue
relatively low, personal stakes

A fantasy trilogy about two countries at war and people with nature-based powers (prequel and 2 books of 3 written)
gay MCs dating each other (one controls shadow, the other light, for delicious symbolism)
queer cast (including two nonbinary characters)
best worldbuilding of all my series (especially with how the powers work and are utilized)
dual POV (with ocassional guest POV)

A oneshot cozy fantasy (romance) about an asexual merman librarian and a famous merman author who takes a liking to him
asexual rep
dual POV
relatively short (cca 37K words)
fun worldbuilding - the whole thing takes place underwater
comfily low stakes

An urban fantasy trilogy about demons, vampires, angels, all the good stuff (book 1 written, this one is on the back burner)
gay MCs
a will they won't they (even the author doesn't know)
demons aren't necessarily bad/angels aren't necessarily good/they're both creatures from other dimensions
god doesn't exist we don't talk about him
