Rhaegal’s eyes shifted towards the open doorway for a moment, remaining there longer than necessary. As Kit went inside, a faint smirk curved at the corner of his mouth. “A full bottle?” he echoed as he stepped inside. “Dangerous promise. We will have to see how the cards are played then.” Rhaegal then moved toward the table.
As Kit poured them the wine, Rhaegal watched her a moment. "Red's perfect," he said finally, accepting the glass. "You chose well." He raised the glass. ''To a good company.''
"It stands" she assented, moving back towards the still ajar back door and pushing it to be fully open. "Might even stretch to a full bottle if you play your cards right".
With that, she turned to go in, aware he'd more than likely follow her, it wasn't like she had to issue any further formal invite, was it? Kit knew you had to do that with vampires, or was that just lore? No matter, Rahegal wasn't a vampire. He was.......something other.
Still, a bottle of Pinotage was found from the rack and opened. Then two glasses were set on the table that she took a seat.
"I went with red, I hope that's okay?".

Rhaegal studied her quietly for a moment, the soft firelight catching the pale gold in his eyes. There was a quiet understanding in his expression - of someone who also understood what it meant to outlive others by centuries.
“You're not selfish,” said Rhaegal after a moment, his voice low. “Perhaps you’re just tired of holding memories that no one else remembers?” he suggested. “The longer we live, the more ghosts and memories we carry. But sharing now and here, with someone who won’t vanish, isn’t selfish.”
He stretched his legs out beside her, letting the silence settle before adding. “And as for dinner... I wouldn’t mind something warm. I’ll help, if you let me. I’ve gotten decent at not setting things on fire.” Then, with a smile he added. “In the kitchen, I mean.”

Rhaegal chuckled, shaking his head slightly. "Well, you certainly have a way with words," he replied. "I have to admit, your timing is impeccable."
He leaned back in his chair, taking a moment to appreciate her honesty. "It's funny how these human traditions can get to us, even when we try to stay detached," he mused, a hint of a smile on his lips. "Sentimentality isn't such a bad thing, you know. Sometimes, it's a reminder of what really matters."

It all happened quickly. Wasting no time Rhaegal was kneeling by Cairistiona's side. He stilled for a moment, the cloth in his hand pausing in mid motion. His gaze lingered on the smear of blood along her cheek, then flicked to meet hers.
“You’re not an idiot,” he replied, almost sharply, as though the word itself offended him. “You trusted your instincts. It just happened to be one of those moments where the fate had other plans.”
Rhaegal resumed tending to the wound, more careful this time, though his fingers remained steady. “Next time,” he added, his tone quiet but dry, “It would more safe to have a saddle.”
There was a flicker of a smile at the corner of his mouth, subtle. “You and Goliath are free spirits. Both of you can't handle anything restricting .”
@rhaigal send a Letter:
"I'm just going to wipe your face."
In all reality she had no desire to be touched, but she did accept it with a begrudging sigh. It has been a stupid accident. It was meant to just be a trial run on Goliath through a course Rhaegal had helped her to set up. Unfortunately, a dear had run across the path at the same moment and she'd ended up getting tossed full force against a tree.
"I feel like an idiot. I should have used a saddle for the first ride..." she hated them as much as Goliath, but the gentle giant tolerated them when he had to. "I'd have had a much better chance of keeping on his back..." A hiss passed her lips when he worked on cleaning her cheek. "Ouch."
#// sorry this took absolute age to reply#if you wanna drip this thats totally cool#but i was thinking maybe rha is her guardian or something? cliché i know but ima sucker for clichés ha
