What are Your Favorite Words?

Hi Tumblr, it’s been a long time since I updated my last post here. Honestly, I have just remembered that I have this account, haha!

OK, if you’re accidentally arriving here on this post, you will read my writing to answer some questions that I’ve got from a short course called Strategy Summer Camp. Mark Pollard, the initiator of this program, asked about my favorite words, the reason why I love those words, and ask me to create a brief love letter containing those words. 

Why did he ask that? 

In his opinion, a (marketing/brand/advertising) strategist’s main plaything is words, and here’s one of early exercises in in order to accustom ourselves with words.

Alright, here are my answers:

My 5 favorite words are empower, encourage, however, fascinating, and amusing. The reasons why I love ‘empower’ is this word seems containing positive meaning from someone/a thing to make a contribution to others. Similar to that, I like ‘encourage’ because this word is like turning someone to do something good. 

What about ‘however’?

Well, actually it’s just because I like to use this word recently to replace ‘but’, particularly in formal situation. I just feel it’s more classy or professional it we use it rather than ‘but’. :D

Fascinating. Usually this word is announced by someone in happy condition or with positive energy, not much different with the last word, “amusing”. Amusing reflects to something that is very funny and usually spoken by someone who has been entertained.

Those are some reasons why I love those words. Next, I have to create a brief love letter. Hmm, since I don’t have any girlfriend, haha, let me write this letter as if it’s for my idol. Please don’t laugh at me. :D

Dear my favorite social media influencer,

Do you know every I open my Instagram, your posting is the only think that I would like to see and expect to be always on my timeline? Sounds weird, but it’s true!

I admire you, the one who loves to empower others. Not only to the society around you, but also you are successfully could encourage your followers from around the world to be a better person. 

However, do you know, sometimes you make so many people feel insecure, just because you’re too perfect, haha. I don’t know if I was just kidding or not, but in my view, you and what you’ve been posted on your social media, are fascinating! 

Not to be stopped there, Although some people said you can make them feel insecure, at the same time you (and your jokes) are amusing! I can laugh for hours after seeing your ‘stand-up’ contents, haha.

Finished! Finally I did my exercise. I am sorry if it looked like a writing in kids magazine, haha! However the important thing here was I pushed my self to write, to do the exercise, to practice utilizing words as well as to update my first Tumblr post after years, hehe. Adalah #MomenBerharga ketika saya dapat mengunjungi destinasi impian saya. Mui Ne menjadi salah satunya. Kota di Vietnam ini unik karena memiliki gurun pasir, suatu yang tak lazim ditemukan di Asia Tenggara. Sayangnya, begitu sampai di Mui Ne, saya dan teman saya mengalami kesulitan dalam menemukan gurun pasir tersebut, karena lebih memilih nekat menyewa sepeda motor dan kami mencari-cari sendiri dimana gurun pasirnya, padahal saat itu sedang tidak bisa mengakses GPS dan internet. Setelah sempat tersasar dan membuang lumayan banyak waktu dan energi, akhirnya saya sampai juga di tempat yang dituju. Senang rasanya, namun saya menyesal karena seharusnya bisa menikmati momen berharga tersebut lebih lama, jika saja saya mempersiapkan liburan ini lebih baik. Hal ini menjadi pelajaran, saya harusnya mempersiapkan dengan baik berbagai hal untuk liburan saya jika tidak ingin kecewa. Kok ribet sih liburan aja perlu disiapkan dengan baik? Nggak ribet, dong. Kan sekarang mempersiapkan liburan itu jadi mudah banget berkat @traveloka. Lewat satu aplikasi, kita bisa dapet banyak solusi! Pesan tiket pesawat, hotel, pilih aktivitas dan rekreasi, bahkan hingga untuk menikmati akses internet di luar negeri pun, bisa loh. Pokoknya, #LiburanSerbaMudah lewat satu aplikasi. Jadi, bagaimana liburan Kamu berikutnya? Kalau saya sih Traveloka dulu, nikmati momen berharga kemudian. #MomenBerharga #LiburanSerbaMudah (at Mũi Né)

Halo negara Asia Tenggara kesebelas saya, Timor Leste! 🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱 Setelah #KhatamAsean tahun 2015 lalu, alhamdulillah hari ini bisa melengkapinya dengan mengunjungi negara Asia Tenggara kesebelas -yang belom masuk ASEAN tapi sudah mengajukan tapi ga tau dah bakal diterima gabung apa nggak. Yaudah pokoknya saya udah lengkap deh Asia Tenggara, horee! ^^ Anyway, di belakang saya itu adalah Christo Del Rei of Dili, Patung Yesus setinggi 27 meter yang merupakan hadiah dari Pak Soeharto dalam peringatan 20 tahun bergabungnya Timor Timur dengan Indonesia. Angka 27 meter sendiri melambangkan Timor Timur sebagai propinsi ke 27 RI. Sampai saat ini, patung yang dirancang oleh Ir Mochamad Syailillah ini masih menjadi landmark utama di Timor Leste. Oh iya, selain datang ke Christo Del Rei ini, saya juga telah mengunjungi rumah Raul Lemos dan Krisdayanti loh. Konon seluruh warga Dili tau rumah mereka, nah siapa tau bakal jadi calon landmark Dili berikutnya, tuh. 😁 Jadi, bagaimana bentuk rumah pasangan Raul-KD di Dili?
