HW #3
3 things I learnt from the reading:
1) I didn’t know that major organisations such as Yahoo! were on tumblr.
2) I didn’t know that tumblr can post your posts for you at certain times.
3) I didn’t know that you could send fan-mail to other tumblr users.

A question that I have from the textbook reading is why is it so easy to create a blog but becomes expensive as soon as you get more involved?

HW #1
One thing I learned from the textbook reading was that the internet is probably the best way to spread news. People use the internet and know what they’re trying to look for and will most likely find it online.

This is my favorite and it relates to my theme because they are telling the audience that even though it was a funny sketch, they still need to take voting seriously and pick who should run their country.
And now it’s time to get out there and vote. None of this will have mattered if you don’t vote.

Theme
I chose the theme Saturday Night Live because it is personally one of my favorite things to watch on TV anytime at any place. I have been watching SNL since I was in middle school. I know everything about the show and it never fails to make me laugh. The shows great and I think everyone should watch it.

youtube
In this video, SNL imitates the presidential debate. Kate McKinnon plays Hilary Clinton and Alec Baldwin plays Donald Trump. It relates to my topic because it is one of the funniest sketches that was ever on SNL.

This great picture is from the famous “Reporter Sketch” on SNL played by Leslie Jones and Colin Jost. The show is very famous from this specific sketch.

Drew Barrymore Fact
After shooting to stardom because of her role in E.T. and Firestarter, Drew Barrymore became one of the most sought-after celebrities in Hollywood. Her fame led her to become the youngest host in SNL history, taking on the role at the tender age of seven. It was one of the most watched episodes of all time.

Tina Fey Fact
There is an iconic SNL opening monologue that has Sarah Palin, and Tina Fey as Sarah Palin, standing side-by-side. However, when the sketch was first pitched, rumor has it that Fey refused to share the screen with Palin because she didn't want anyone to think she was endorsing her. SNL filmed Palin backstage with Lorne Michaels. It is one of the highest rated episodes in history.

Upcoming Guests
On November 7 SNL will be hosted by Donald Trump with the musical guest Sia. This should be interesting since SNL did a skit recently imitating Donald Trump.

Eddie Murphy Fact
Eddie Murphy got cast because he called the show’s talent coordinator, Neil Levy, every day for a week explaining how desperately he needed the job. Levy decided he’d give Murphy a job as an extra, but brought him in to audition as well. His audition was so good that he was given a contract right away.

2016 Presidential Debate on SNL
Kate McKinnon playing Hillary Clinton and Alec Baldwin playing Donald Trump. Clinton found it hilarious unlike Trump who thought it was “inaccurate”. SNL imitated the debate so well that everyone would be interested in watching it.
