Derek loved the sound of Stiles' heartbeat. It was a little erratic compared to other people, and yet it always managed to calm Derek down no matter what the situation was.

He also loved to feel Stiles' pulse points -- holding Stiles by his wrist so he could feel the soft pulse on his fingertips, pressing his palm flat across Stiles' chest and had Stiles' heartbeat beating softly against it -- because sometimes just hearing Stiles' heartbeat was not enough, he needed to feel it as well.

His favorite was when they were cuddling on bed in the morning. Derek always woke up before Stiles, so he could arrange their cuddling position the way he wanted to, and he loved to wrap Stiles' wrist in his hand, while his arm slung across Stiles' chest so he could feel the soft thump thump of his heart on his bare skin, and then he would press his lips on Stiles' neck, feeling the flutter of Stiles' heart on his lips.

He loved the moment when he could feel the change; between Stiles' sleeping state and then the pulse got a little faster before settling down again, telling him that Stiles was awake now.

It would always be followed by Stiles' soft voice, "Morning, Sourwolf."

And it was truly one of his favorite moments with Stiles.

Thinking about how Derek is so hard to contact all the time, but when they were like “Stiles is missing” he immediately showed up.

Thinking about how Scott and Isaac, who see Stiles almost every day, had to go back to his room for a stronger scent. But Derek didn’t.

Thinking about how Derek got to the roof of the hospital first and was like “Stiles was here. He was anxious. He was fighting with himself”.

Thinking about how Derek was the one giving the Jeep a jump start because he knows how important the Jeep is to Stiles.

Thinking about how when he was told “I think Stiles is the one possessed” he immediately dismissed it, but figured out what happened and went straight to Scott instead of telling anyone else. And instead of trying to kill him.
