VOCATIONAL EDUCATION IS FUTURE OF INDIA
The main areas of problems in India in case of vocational courses are following:
1. There is a high rate of dropouts at the secondary level in India.
2. Vocational education is offered to +1 and +2 grade only.
3. Less number of vocational institutes in the country.
4. Not an adequate number of training faculty.
5. Lacking introduction of new sectors in vocational education and courses.
6. Shortage of skilled teachers in the country.
Vocational education or skill-based education which enables students to acquire skills in a specific occupation or business. It is also known as Technical Education. Vocational education prepares individuals for jobs that are related to practical activities. In India, it is believed that education is the key to nation building. In a country like India where human resource is available in abundance, the need only is to provide a right path.
The aim of vocational courses is "EARN WHILE YOU LEARN."
Vocational courses will be helpful in increasing the number of skilled workforce in the country which will lead to fast developing of the economy. To do this there must be proper training to be provided to them with proper equipment's. in a country like India where there is a shortage of skilled workforce and has become the main reason for unemployment in the country there vocational education or the skill-based education will be very helpful in removing the unemployment from the economy. In India, vocational courses are of two types full time or part-time. Full-time training is mostly provided in Industrial Training Institute and part-time is provided at the board of State Technical Education but eventually, vocational education has been only successful in Industrial sector only and that only in engineering sector only.
Institutes like Tata Institute of Social Sciences have taken a right step in this regard, by
launching various Skill Development Programs. RMS based in Chandigarh provides graduate and post graduate programs and build management skills. It ensures that students are more employable and reach their true potential.
Following are the some of the courses offered by the government:
1. UDAAN: It is a vocational education system designed for the students of the Northern region of India. Under this training is provided to them in sectors like IT, BPO and Retail. It is for 5 years.
2. POLYTECHNIS: It is a 3 years diploma course in subjects such as engineering and computer science. The minimum eligibility for this course or training program is secondary level.
3. PARVAAZ: The aim of this course is to provide training and develop skills of those students who are dropouts, left outs or minority students.
Vocational courses and education are at the developing stage in India and government are too focusing on it. The future of vocational courses looks very bright in the country as there is a lot of human resource in the country. The need is to make people aware of the need for these vocational courses moreover people are required to be told about the scope these skill development courses available.
There are few private institutes in India providing vocational education but these are not recognised by the government so the first step to being taken for development of the vocational education should be recognition given by the government to these private institutions.
There is no doubt that vocational education is the future of the of the country as it will remove the biggest hurdle in the development of the country which is unemployment so, in India vocational education is yet to be recognised properly but it will be huge helping hand in the development of the economy.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP AFTER BOARDS
As the XII board exams of every student end he/she will start dreaming about how they are going to spend their summer holidays. Most of them plan to go on the trip and explore various places but in all this they are ignoring their career. One should not only spend all of his/her vacations having fun only but should also become concern about their career and should find some internships to get practical knowledge about their concerned stream.
WHAT IS AN INTERNSHIP?
Internship means an opportunity given by an employer to students interested in gaining work experience from a particular industry they are interested in. Internships are mostly for 3-6 months.
Interns are supervised by professionals in the field.
Internships develop leadership skills and also helps to get along with the team raising the cooperation level.
Interns can view the workplace and get alongside with the professionals in chosen area and see if it matches expectations.
There are number of online web sites available where you can apply for the internship. LinkedIn, Internshala, Internmatch are some of the famous websites where you can apply for internships.
Another way of getting an internship is from the training and placements cells established at schools and colleges.
Benefits of internship:
Internship is very beneficial for students who still have to go to college as it will enhance their knowledge about their field and moreover it is helpful in deciding the which field we want to choose in their concerned stream like a commerce student can decide whether he wants to join field of marketing , finance, human resource management and operations.
Internships are helpful as they help students getting work experience before actually they go out to find the job.
It helps students to explore the path they want to choose in their career as it is helpful so they can choose further studies/courses according to their field of interest.
Internships help students in exploring the hidden talents in them and developing their skills.
It is also helpful from the financial point of view as in paid internships students will be able to handle their own expenses and will reduce their dependability on their parents.
Internship in a well reputed company will help the interns to get into a network of professionals in the field.
Internships help in gaining confidence and improves communication skills.
Interns can also convert their internship into a job if the employer offers them so.
Internships are also helpful in boosting the CV of a student as skills and experience will add up.
As we know internships are for shorter period of time so it will act as a testing path for the career the one wishes to choose.
Internships are also beneficial when you are next time into an interview and will show your potential to next employer.
So rather than wasting the time of laptop playing games and watching movies all the time one should go out and find a path for their career.
You can explore big brands like Taj, Hamleys, Kawasaki, Jaguar, Fortis or other industries like fashion, automobile, travel etc with RMS. They have tie up with these brands. Can have more details from their website www.rmsschool.com

CREATIVE THINKING: AN ESSENTIAL SKILL FOR CAREER DEVELOPMENT
As an HR professional, I have come across many candidates who write ‘creative’ as one of their key skills. I can understand that most of them simply write to make their resume’ look attractive and populated with fancy words, but unfortunately majority of them have no idea what it means.
Creativity is the quality that enables us to generate a different approach to a situation and to discover new and improved solution to the problem. Through creative thinking we understand change, learn how to create the change that benefits us personally and professionally.
During my school days, a creative person was considered as somebody who could dance, sing, paint and act. We were convinced that creativity is something that you are born with; you either had or didn’t. While individuals may differ in their level or creativity, many scientists believe that all are born creative. But the same is lost over the years as a result of formal training, socialization and self inhibition.
Changes in technology have provided an insight into how creativity can be improved. Creative thinking is needed in more areas than simply art, music and drama; it is needed for real life. Advertisement and movies are perhaps the most obvious display of creative thinking. Our everyday objects such as cars, mobile phones, AC, cash wallets etc. all resulted from the recognition of a need, use of creative thinking and creation. Internet is full of information that gives you a detailed insight to creative thinking. An old toothbrush can be used to clean appliances or apply hair dye. You can use your old jeans to make a mobile holder or a tote bag. Worn out car tyres can be used as flower pots or a chair. An old mobile phone can be used as a torch or a security camera. The list is endless.
Go to YouTube and type simple life hacks. The result is simply amazing. And we thought we could do nothing with waste items. How wrong we were. The internet is helping people discover new truths about creativity. Technology grants access to people who want to share ideas or learn new ways of doing things.
Creative thinking is a skill. It needs to be strengthened and honed into a powerful tool. The ability to think creatively, develop ideas and to find solution is key components for success and a must in person. It is now sought after more than ever before. The fact is creative thinking skills can be taught, learned and practiced.
Today people have and need to gain a better understanding about their own creativity and the concept of creative thinking and with practice can apply the skill in their personal and professional life. Some benefits of being creative:
Do well in your job
Build a successful career
Shape your personality
Clever and fresh solutions to problems
Sustain friendship
Develop self confidence
Below are few tips for developing creative thinking.
Show an interest in learning new things.
Expand your knowledge base. Read books, research the internet on various topics to know more about it.
Start thinking. Thinking generates ideas.
Combine different ideas into various combinations. A successful idea comes from many ideas in combination.
Look at the positives sides of life, personal & professional.
Remain calm. A calm mind can think creatively.
Creative thinking inspires ideas. Ideas inspire change. – Barbara Januszkiewicz
