Hange/Levi (platonic) x Male Reader
All you could do was watch as the tongs came closer to your fingers, digging underneath your dirtied fingernail. A shrill scream vibrated across the bloodied stone walls as the nail was ripped from your finger. Tears streamed down your face as you begged for this torture to stop, but it was all done to no avail. You felt the blood drip down and collect at the end of your limp hand. The only sound in the room was heavy pants heard from both parties and the occasionally splash of blood against the hard stone floor. Your torturer huffed, and pushed a hand through his sweaty hair, making it slick back and stick up in odd places.
“I don’t understand why you won’t just speak. I have taken all of your finger and toenails. Your body has been burnt and lacerated. I’m not even sure how you are alive...” you wished for death though. Pleading and begging for this seemingly endless torture to stop. Tears ran down your bloodied cheeks, and your torturer brought a warm hand to your face. He swiped away the tears with the pad of his thumb, smearing the blood up your cheekbone. He moved his hand to hold the stump at the end of your ear. A month ago there was a pretty silver earring attached to it. He didn’t like how it glistened in the candlelight though, so naturally it had to go.
“You were so handsome [Name]. Such a perfect husband. Waiting patiently for me to come to you.” You didn’t understand what had come of the sweet boy you had grown up with. What had changed? Why was he forced to become such a heartless vicious man as this? The slam of a door brought you from your darkening thoughts. He had finally left. You let out cry after cry, mourning the old Eren. And wishing a peaceful death upon the new one. He had to rest. You know so much, and yet you didn’t. For just as life, Eren continued pushing on. It didn’t matter through which obstacle. The love of your life wasn’t initially put in to torture you, originally it was supposed to be Hange and Levi. Eren took it over, as you had heard from him and you’d been moved cells. Your captain and the one who thought of you as a younger brother, neither could apparently bear to do it. Nobody could. You were such a happy influence on them all, it seemed ridiculous that you were accused of being a traitor. You had been in this dreaded cell for a month now. The only person you had seen was Eren. You were the subject of inconceivable rumours when it came out that Reiner and Bertholdt were Titans. You had been close friends with the two, and frequently interacted with Annie. The survey corps couldn’t take anymore risks. You would never blame them for this. You heard clattering come from up the stairs, and wondered if Eren was home already.
What surprised you however was the concerned deep voice that called out. “Hello? Is anyone here? Please call out.” You let out a nervous greeting to the stranger followed by heavy thumping come down the stairs, almost as if someone was jumping down them. You closed your eyes and sighed, the energy immediately dispelling from your body. If you were going to die now, you would accept it graciously. You opened them once more when the owner of these footsteps stifled a gasp. You only grew curious at the sound but didn’t look over yet.
What made you look over, was when the voice called out a loud. “Hange. Your going to want to see this.” You looked over as Levi began to fiddle with the locks on the other side of the bars. You could see how is hands kept slipping and shaking. You took a shaky breath as another set of footsteps (which you guessed were Hanges) made their way downstairs. The second they saw the state you were in they took off their glasses, tears flowed down from their brown uncovered eye. “[Name]? Don’t tell me? No, no, I’m so sorry.” All you could do was watch as the bright optimistic person you’d come to known fell apart at the state you were in, and who could blame them.
You looked half dead anyway, the clothes you once wore hand been dyed a crimson with the sheer amount you had bled. There was darkened ashy skin, where Eren had burnt you, peeling away and revealing the clashing pink of exposed flesh underneath. There were chunks that had been taken out of your body, namely your arms and thighs. The finger and toenails now newly removed seeped more of the dreaded red liquid. There was just so much. A seemingly endless wave of blood. It would never stop crashing upon you and those who stood too close. With a clank the door unlocked. Levi had opted for kicking the door in instead of trying to break the lock. Hange rushed in first, immediately undoing the rough rope pulled taught against your ankles and the chair leg. Levi coming next you, to pull away the loose pieces holding your wrist down to the arm of the chair. As the ropes were pulled away, you felt as though you could finally rest now. You were saved, right? Your limp body fell forward onto Hange as Levi undid the final rope on your left wrist.
They held you up, and carried you like a baby as you clung to them. Your legs wrapped around their waist and your arms around their neck. Hange held your back and pulled you into them as they carried you up the stairs, Levi anxiously picking at his nails next to you and Hange. The pair walked through the upstairs in complete silence, not daring to utter a word. The only sound on that damned floor was the eternal dripping of your blood. As you reached the door to outside, Hange pushed your head into their neck, the sunlight would be a surprise for a man who had not seen light in a month. A small murmur was heard from you as you asked. “Are you two okay? If I die now, I need you to know I never once blamed you.” Tears unwillingly fell from their face once more and even Levi had to stifle a cry at the words.
The commander of the survey corps carrying a limp body was a sight to see, so naturally it dragged the attention of surrounding villagers. Muttering began as they realised the body belonged to you, none other than [Name] [Last Name]. A strong soldier with a future in the military brighter than Queen Historia’s hair. You had always been good to the general public, and as such they had loved you in return. The survey corps knew the amount of influence you held over these villagers, even if you did not. They loved you, because you were kind even after the unrelenting dangers of the outside, you always kept your morals no matter how difficult and helped wherever you could. A small blonde girl ran up to Hange, ignoring the cry’s of the crowd gathered, and gripped the bloodied material of your shirt. She looked up to meet the commanders eyes silently pleading that you weren’t dead. She was one of many people you had helped and as such felt indebted to you. Your joyous face whenever you returned from an expedition out the walls would make her heart soar and you would even bring flowers for some upon occasion. She had a flower now, clutched in her trembling pale hand and she thrusted it into the space between you and Hange, and dropped it. The stem was discoloured and crumped from how tightly the young girl had gripped it. Hange nodded slightly, closing their eyes before speaking loud enough for everyone to hear.
“[Name] [Last Name] is not dead. Not now at least. We will get him into immediate care, and hopefully someone can tend to his injuries, as you can see they are quite severe. Do not worry though, we can keep you updated about his current condition and will tell you immediately if he does,” she began to choke up. “If he does end up dying.” A few in the crowd began to cry and others angrily shout. “Who the hell is responsible for this!” Hange looked down casted and they began to walk away, avoiding the question. If word got out that it was another scout, much less your own partner all hell would break loose and the scouts headquarters would most definitely be compromised. They would deal with Eren all in due time, and by god would he have hell to deal with.
Levi however turned to the man, and feeling nothing but absolute hatred for the former member of his squad spat out a bitter, “Eren Jeager.” Hange could punish him later, as long as justice was brought for his friend. The pair began to speed up as Hange felt your heart beat grow weaker, eventually breaking into a full blown sprint. Levi ran ahead to prepare the doctor, saying it was of the upmost importance. You and Hange eventually reached the doctor with Hange practically flinging themselves through the door and gently laid you on an unused table. The doctor was quick to rush to your side and carefully peeled off the sticky clothing, occasionally using a knife to cut parts away. With your body lying bare, both the doctor and the longest surviving members of the survey corps could fully see the damage Eren had inflicted. Hange let out a choked sob as Levi just stood, anger and disbelief evident on his face. The doctor immediately ushered the pair out the room, and pushing a piece of paper into their hands. “Find these plants, there are drawings in case you need help with identifying them.” He then pointed to the forest a whiles walk away from the doctors house. He slammed the door in their faces and got back to helping patch you up. It seems he wasn’t all talk as he helped stabilise your near death condition.
A knock at the door alerted the doctor of Hange and Levi’s arrival. He yelled at them for come in, not wanting to leave your body alone for any amount of time in case your condition would suddenly drop. The entered and the doctor set to work grinding the specific herbs and plants into a paste which he would apply to your body. Hange’s hand swiped over your newly cleaned face, you looked a lot better now that there wasn’t quite so much blood everywhere. The doctor smeared the newly made green paste on the more severe lacerations and quickly wrapped them in cloth.
“I.. I don’t know if he’ll make it out alive.” The blunt statement filled Hange and Levi’s head. You wouldn’t make it? But you were [Name] [Last Name]? The boy who kept smiling through everything? And yet as your chest rose and fell irregularly both Hange and Levi knew the chances of you living were slim.

“Can I see [Name] today mama? I wanna give him flowers!” The woman looked down at her daughter and ruffled her blonde hair. “Of course honey, be back for lunch though, okay?” The girl nodded, beaming and rushed out her house, sprinting over the mismatched cobbles and up to the woods where you resided. Once she’d reached the forest, the trees split, almost as if guiding everyone who came, directly to [Name]. She ran down the rocky path, the villagers had collectively gathered to make a stone path all the way to [Name] so people can easily come and visit him. She almost tripped and dropped the flowers but a bush caught her, and she steadied herself once more. When she arrived she already saw Hange and Levi sitting by the sandstone headstone. “Ah- Mx Hange and Mr Levi, I didn’t know you were here sorry.” Hange smiled at the girl and beckoned her to come closer.
“That’s quite alright, we were just telling him we’d be back soon, we’ve got a mission coming up soon, and I can’t bring myself to not run every plan through him first.” Levi grimaced at their words, he knew they weren’t taking [Name]’s death particularly well, especially after Eren only really got off with a slap on the wrist. He would come with her, hoping they wouldn’t do anything rash especially after Moblit died. Besides, he too had come to care about the ridiculously happy [hair colour] boy in his squad. The girl came and sat by his gravestone, taking the dying flowers off the grave and putting on her fresh ones. Hange smiled at the action, glad that even if Levi and them were to die, there would at least be someone to take care of his final resting place. “I wish you the best. [Name] [Last Name]”

Jean/Levi x Male Reader
Tumblr media
Streaks of golden light cut through the window as you rolled onto your side and awoke. It was far too early but you mentally thanked yourself for being awake regardless. The image of your shirtless boyfriend lying next to you and reaching out in his sleep to check that you were still there was quite frankly adorable. You ran your hands through his hair a couple times before settling in between the crook of his arm and his chest.
When you woke again he was almost fully dressed, he took a couple steps over to you and kissed your forehead. “I’ll be back in a couple days like usual.” You were used to his comings and going’s and didn’t really mind to be honest. He was in the scout regiment so would frequently take long trips. You figured this would just be one of those. You settled back down into the blanketed haven called your bed for a few minutes before remembering you had to open your bakery.
Rushed was how you would describe your morning but nonetheless it was still beautiful. The air smelt of newly baked bread, and the blue sky bore no dark clouds. You had begun to close your bakery at a later time, you were a night owl anyway so it wasn’t as if you’d use the time to sleep. As the pale blue skies faded into darker shades and the amount of customers significantly decreased, you stepped outside for some fresh air. What you didn’t expect was too see your boyfriend of 3 years with the other scouts, walking to a bar. You didn’t really mind, he was allowed to have his fun and he’d probably come and see you afterwards.
You went back inside and began working on tomorrow’s dough. It would be better if left overnight. You cleaned the bakery and reorganised everything. Although your shop was mainly specialised in bread of all sorts, you still sold other things, pastries, tea and cake to name a few. Just as you were closing up for the night one of your regulars knocked at the door.
“Levi? Here for your usual?” You let him in, after he nodded and left him to find his own place, he’d frequently come in quite late, you never really minded. It meant you had someone to speak to whilst cleaning up. He would even help occasionally when he thought you weren’t doing a good enough job. The pair of you got along well, so you immediately brought over his special blend of tea. You made it yourself and he would often compliment you on it. He’d say how he only bought tea from your shop and going off the amount he’d buy every time you could only guess it to be true. You asked the regular, “anything else for you?” He’d almost always thank you and say no, he was okay but this night it seemed everyone was in a mood for surprising you. “Actually yes, I’ve heard from one of my cadets, Armin, that the bread you make is exceptional. Could I have some?” You smiled at the mention of the blond, and went to the back to get some bread you had put away. Armin had known you and frequently visited your fathers bakery after you helped feed him during the fall of Wall Maria. He claims you kept him alive all those years even though all you would do was sneak the poor kid a couple pieces of spare bread your father hadn’t sold. You returned to the front, bread in hand, and gave it to Levi. He seemed quite pleased with it and lingered for a bit before paying. “Is anything bothering you Levi? I couldn’t help but notice that you seem restless?” He sighed and said that his squad had gone to a bar and they always got rowdy when they were drunk. He had a headache himself and did not want to deal with them. You offered to help, you knew most of the squad anyway. You locked up your shop and Levi led you to the bar.
As he entered he immediately ordered two pints and sat at the bar. You took a seat next to him and scanned the room, looking for where Jean was. You leaned over the bar and tried to grab the bartenders attention.
“Hey, have you seen a guy with brownish blond hair about this high,” you threw out your arm and gestured to how tall he was. “Kinda pretentious lookin’ with a horse face, but he’s nice I swear.” Levi snorted at the description and raised his glass. “Couldn’t have put it better myself [Name]!” The bartender nodded to the stairs pressed against the wall. “Went upstairs with some black haired beauty. He’s punching way above his weight of you ask me.” You felt a heavy pit in your stomach grow as you realised what was happening. But you couldn’t jump to conclusions, right? “W-what room are they in?” Your voice shook as you spat out the words, the bartender simply sniffed and said something about client confidentiality. The bar went silent as Levi’s hands slammed down on the table, making small indentations in the wooded surface. “God damnit which fucking room or I swear–” The bartender just lazily threw a spare key with the number 3 written on it towards you. You stared down at the key that had bounced off your chest and landed in your lap. Levi grabbed it and without a word took your wrist and led you upstairs to said room. Instead of using the key like any normal person would, he kicked the door in. Jean screamed and tried to cover himself as Mikasa wrapped the beds blanket around herself. You felt tears prick your eyes and your whole world shatter before you. You tried to blink the tears back but it seemed to only encourage them more. After a few seconds they were streaming down your face and you let out a choked sob. Levi immediately turned to you, regretting showing so much. Jean stood and tried to walk over, he placed a hand on the captains shoulder, “look sir, this is a thing between me and [Name] could you please leave it alone?” Levi snapped. He wrenched Jeans hand off of him and pushed him against the badly made wall. Jean was still fully nude and Levi felt disgusted just even touching him. He pulled Jeans head back by his hair and slammed him into the wall, breaking it and surely Jeans nose in the process. “I don’t care who you mess around with cadet but if your in a relationship with someone I care for, and you decide to pull this shit? All the respect I hold for you is immediately lost.” Jean groaned and cradled his bleeding nose. He sat down on the floor and looked up to his captain. When they’re eyes met only disgust was shown in those usually apathetic grey ones. He looked at you who stood behind Levi, and saw the tears streaming down your face. He fucked up. Royally. He reached out a hand to you but it was immediately slapped away by Levi. “Don’t even think about touching him again.” He turned and led you out the bar, you just barely had time to briefly wave goodbye to the other cadets. They all saw your crying face and immediately wanted to know who or what had made you cry like that.
Levi sat you down on a couple of stairs a whiles walk from the bar. No words were exchanged when he dragged you, you could tell he was irritated and you didn’t want to worsen his mood. He gestured for you to sit next to him and he looked at you for a couple moments before breaking off a piece of bread and giving it to you. “You do realise that I made this bread?” He nodded and took a piece for himself. “S’good. No wonder your a baker. It tastes better than your fathers if that’s even possible.” You grinned at the mention of your father. He passed several years back and had left you his bakery, which you gladly took up. You were lucky enough to say you never felt alone in this world, there had always been somebody with you. Levi broke off another piece of bread and gave it to you. He watched you, making sure you ate all of it and smiled slightly once he realised you had. It was so dark outside that you could clearly see the stars and the moon. The night had always amazed you and you stared up at the sky, wonder clear in your eyes. Levi placed a hand over yours and you turned to him. “Yes Levi?” He took a deep breath in, like what he was found to say next was hard. He met your shiny eyes. Just half an hour or so ago they had been glistening with tears. And now they seemed to be glistening in admiration. He shook his head, chuckling slightly, and dragged a hand through his hair. “No. It’s nothing. I just thought I’d say how beautiful the moon was tonight.” You smiled at his comment and he handed you another piece of bread. “Yeah. It seems to get prettier every time I look at it, do you get that? Levi nodded, stuffing a piece of bread into his mouth. “Don’t worry. I get it.” With a sigh he turned his gaze back to the dark sky. It had a streak of blue through it surrounded by stars. It didn’t seem real it was so pretty. And so the pair sat there, admiring the sky until the moon dipped down and sunrise came. And by then, they had fallen asleep in each other’s arms, you, leaning against Levi who was leaning against a wall with his arm wrapped around your back.

Eren x Male Reader

The snow had come as a shock to everyone. Surprisingly it didn’t snow that much in the southern Wall Rose. The Levi Squad was making the most of it though. You ran, ducking and weaving through the various trees and attempts at snowmen, throwing snowballs at the rest of the squad. Levi stood in the doorway, sighing as his childish squad hit each other with compacted snow. He yearned for such naive nature once again. He watched as more squads began to join in the snowball fight, picking up some snow himself and pushing it into a ball, aiming, and throwing it at your head. Hard. You gasped as snow went down your shirt and made you neck grow cold. You looked over at where the snowball had come from and saw Levi pointing to an oblivious Eren. He chuckled slightly as he saw you begin to roll a snowball through the snow making it grow bigger and bigger. You picked it up, struggling slightly, and the rest of the squad watched as you carried this massive snowball over to Eren. Nobody thought to warn the boy, eager to see the result. Even Mikasa didn’t tell, trying to distract him in a conversation. The snow was raised above your head and quickly slammed down onto the unsuspecting boy. A roar of laughs were heard as Eren turned, wide eyed, to see your beaming figure. “That’s for earlier!” He looked genuinely puzzled and the squad fell silent as Levi began to snicker. “My god [Name]! I didn’t think you’d actually believe me!” You sensed your mistake and began to run away, panting as you hid behind a snowman.
The fight was back on and it was everybody for themselves. Everyone knew however that a certain green eyed boy would be searching solely for you. You caught your breath as a snowball flew past your head and you spied Connie now engaged in battle with Sasha. The food lover was somehow managing to hold him off with a piece of bread in her mouth. You used the distraction to run amongst the trees, crashing into Eren’s back on the way. “Oh Eren! Coincidence seeing you here!” He growled slightly and looked down to face you. You spied a snowball in his hand and let out a surprised shriek as he rose his arm. You covered your face, hoping he’d be merciful and you heard the swoosh of his arm but felt nothing. You cautiously moved your arms from your face and saw Jean flat on his back behind you. You turned back to Eren, who had an outstretched hand, signalling for you to take it. You hesitated a moment before grabbing it and he helped you up. You two were a force to be reckoned with, he defended you and you attacked others with impeccable aim. Other squads began to join in and even Levi at some point. They’re goal? To take down the power duo which was you and Eren. Both had yet to get a snowball land upon them until a shot by Levi nailed Eren in the face. He lay in front of you. ‘Dying’ in a very overdramatic fashion. You laughed and lay next to him, holding his body carefully. “Any dying wishes?” He out his arms around you neck and moved his face up to yours. Your lips softly touched and you noted how cold they felt, a thin layer of snow already settling in his hair. He pulled away and gave a roguish grin. “A kiss.”

There three bodies lay in front of him. Each on the brink of death. Erwin, his best friend and commander for several years. Armin, the boy who could quite possibly save humanity. And finally [Name], the man he had loved and lived with for several years now. The needle in his hand seemed to grow heavier with every second and he could feel his squad around him hold their breath. Hange raised their head at the quivering man. He seemed so childlike in that moment, afraid and innocent. Anybody could see he was begging that someone would make the choice for him. “Levi!” His head snapped towards the bespectacled person, although now their glasses were lost and a bandage covered their eye. They were holding back a growling Eren who only glared when the two met eyes.
He glanced back at the bodies. Armin’s body a blackish colour from the burns he’d sustained. Erwins was a horrifying shade of red. And finally [Name]’s. He could barely bring himself to look at the man, the purple and black marks covering his body, most likely from the rubble. The blood flowing down his head, over his closed eyes. He took two steps towards his lover. Kneeling down he brought the tip of the needle closer to the elbow joint. He looked over at Erwin. Begging that he’d forgive Levi for making such a choice. The commander had always been surprisingly happy for them. Erwin would forgive him in a heartbeat yet Levi still felt he should beg for forgiveness. Forgiveness he thought he would surely not deserve.
Eren’s and Mikasa’s protests began to grow louder the closer the needle got to the skin. Levi began to hold back tears but it was growing harder and harder. The tension seemed unbearable. The pleads around him wishing to spare Armin were hurting his ears. [Name] squinted and opened his eyes, bringing a bloodied hand up to Levi’s face. “Don’t you... dare... be selfish...” pants were heard between every word and the blood on Levi’s face would torment him for the rest of his life. Levi knew he would be hated if he saved [Name]. [Name] would hate him too. He wished for tear after tear to fall down his face, so his face could at least show a fraction of what he was feeling and yet just a single two ran down to his chin. “Don’t cry... why are you… crying...?” Levi turned next to him where Armin lay and quickly pushed the needle into the burned boy.
A scream filled with pure anguish escaped Levi’s mouth as he clutched [Name] closer to him. Hange lifted Erwins body onto them as Levi clung to [Name]’s. A small smile gracing his face. “T-thank you... Levi..” the rest of the group watched as Levi, clutching the body to his chest, flung himself over to where they were stationed, a couple rooftops over. Hange put an arm around Levi and pulled their bodies into a hug.
Both were crying for their Commander, and for [Name]. They watched as the Titan Armin devoured Bertholdt. Levi held [Name] close to him, hiding him from the sight. “Forgive me [Name]. Please.” A quiet voice came from his as his last words were uttered. “Live for me Levi, and then you shall be forgiven.” A final sigh left the body and Levi almost dropped his lover as the sudden increase in weight surprised him. He held his hand over [Name]’s no longer beating heart and tried to resuscitate him with no avail. More tears fell from his face as he kept pushing down on the [hair colour]’s chest. He had lost both his lover and his best friend in a single day. It felt as though his entire world was standing on toothpicks. And he didn’t care if it came crashing down anymore. “I will live for you, [Name]. We all will.” He turned to the scouts around him. All with stern looks on their faces as they flew down to collect Armin. Levi shrugged his shoulders and pulled [Name] onto his back, so the limp body was sitting more securely on him. He would curse himself till the day he died if he couldn’t bring back his lovers body at the very least. He felt a head flop onto his shoulder, some locks of [hair colour] hair tickling his neck, and he turned to press a final kiss against the bloodied temple. Squeezing his eyes shut as memories of him flowed freely.
The mornings he would awaken to find [Name] cuddled into him. The lazy afternoons where the pair would dance around in the kitchen at golden hour. All the times he’d cooked for him. All the times he’d fallen asleep under a tree and scared Levi half to death when he couldn’t find him. When he cleaned and tried to get it as close to Levi’s standards. When he would hold him until he fell asleep. When he had an exciting idea and rushed to tell Hange. When he got that glint in his eye. Whenever he so much as breathed near him. [Name] would always be so incredibly perfect. He looked up the sky and muttered a few words. He knew there would be no family at home to mourn the death. He knew that only the scouts would go to the funeral. The pair were too alone in this world except for each other. And now that he was gone he couldn’t help but feel as though he was standing completely nude against the world. Confidence, faltering. It was as though he was a child once again, huddled in a corner, on the brink of death. Sometimes he wished he had died then. If only’s.. filled his head and his squad could only watch as their seemingly apathetic captain began to crack. The walls he had spent so many years building up all shattering in an instant like glass. Anyone could see how fragile he was now.
He sped through Shiganshina and commanded his squad to follow him. Placing an injured Sasha, an unconscious Armin and a dead [Name] on top of the wall. Erwin was placed next to [Name] and Levi bent down to close their eyes. He stood up and the pair made eye contact. It was only them left now. Hange grabbed Levi’s hand and pushed Erwins bolo tie into his hands. He stared down at the green centre, the two metal pins at the end, still warm. He undid his cravat and gently placed the cloth over his lovers face. He had received several as a gift from him so it felt only right that he would return it. “I’ll live for you, [Name]. As long as you promise to wait for me up there, and it damn well better be clean.” He felt another tear stain his cheeks but this time he wouldn’t wipe it away. He had to mourn their death’s. “They’ll be waiting for us shorty. I promise.” A quiet hum was heard from the short male as he agreed. “They better be.”

Levi x Male Reader
Tumblr media
Your body was curled up and regretting every moment you had decided to go out. Food had to be bought and normally your boyfriend, Levi, would buy it for you but he hadn’t returned to your home in a number of days. Wrapped up in a new mission most likely.
Another chill ran through your body and you pulled the blanket completely over your head, blocking out your senses. You didn’t even hear the front door open and quietly close. Levi trudged through to the kitchen, sighing softly as he realised food had already been bought. He heard a sneeze come from your shared bedroom and began muttering to himself, something about a damn brat never taking care of themselves, and began to make some tea. Feeling guilty, he took a few steps and carefully opened the door to your bedroom.
You had managed to stay awake for it but promptly after he finished talking about his day your breathing had become more sedated and Levi quickly noticed you had fallen asleep. He went through to the kitchen, noticing how the tea had gone cold and began to drink it. It wasn’t bad but it would’ve been much nicer hot. He felt guilty and sometimes downright ashamed to call himself your boyfriend, often leaving for days upon end. He loved you with all his heart and yet why couldn’t he be there for you? A sneeze pulled him from his darkening thoughts and he crept back towards the doorway, watching as your sleeping form inhaled and exhaled softly.
He snuck around to the other side of the bed - smiling to himself as he realised you had taken only Levi’s blankets instead of the perfectly fine ones belonging to yourself - he slid next to you and held your sleeping form. Eager to not let go. He knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep for another while but perhaps this was enough for him. At first light he would march over to Erwins office and demand a couple days rest to spend with his sick boyfriend. His commander would most likely comply, knowing how little they actually see each other and Levi would finally do it. He smiled into you significantly warmer back as he pictured the ring sitting in his nightstands top drawer. But something still felt wrong.
“[Name]?” He shook you and was met with little response. Levi began to panic as he quickly rushed through to the kitchen, dipping a cloth in some cold water. He carefully placed it on your forehead and quietly called a physician. “Yes he’s burning up.” Muffled sounds could be heard from the other side and Levi nodded anxiously. “I think he was out in the rain for too long.” Another set of muffled voices. “When’s the earliest you can come?” Levi began pacing the room, his anxious heavy footsteps waking you up. “Levi? What’s wrong.” You were completely taken aback by your rasping voice. A look of both concern and relief washed over the normally expressionless man. “How are you feeling? Do you need anything? Tea? Water?” Your eyes began closing as sleep threatened to take over your body once again. “No, no, [Name] please stay awake, the physician will be here soon and they can see what’s wrong.” Right as he said that a quick knock on the door echoed throughout your home.
You had never seen your boyfriend more anxious and so you tried to fight your heavy eyelids. The physician began running checks as Levi held your hand. The action itself wasn’t particularly necessary as you felt completely fine but it comforted the soldier. The physician quickly stood up and took Levi through to the other room. He began to panic, automatically assuming the worst. The physician frowned at him, this worried little soldier was humanities strongest? “The patient is completely fine, they appear to have a mild fever but he should get over that in a few days.” He let out a sigh of relief and payed the physician a little extra, as he had to come out in the middle of the night. When the man left, Levi went back to comforting his lover. You pressed yourself into Levi’s chest and held him. Soft snores escaping your lips. Levi also began to feel his eyes droop as he leaned down and peppered your head with kisses. “I love you. You’ll never get sick once I’m your husband. I promise. Now get better soon so I can marry you already.” Sleep had completely taken over the two and they stayed in bed well into the morning.
Erwin, concerned that his best soldier hadn’t even been so much as seen, stood in front of their front door. He knocked twice but when nobody answered he fished a key Levi had given him a while back to the house. Just in case something went wrong and you had to be protected. Erwin knew how much you meant to Levi, so it hadn’t really surprised him to find the pair cuddled up in their bed. Levi’s eyes snapped to the door, ready to take on the intruder, but relaxed as he saw Erwins blonde hair come into view. The tall man didn’t miss the exhausted state [Name] seemed to be in but however misinterpreted it for something completely different. “I’ll let you have the rest of the week off.” A small blush made it’s way to Levi’s cheeks and he thanked his commander. Returning to his original relaxed position, hoping Erwin would let himself out, which he did. Smiling to himself slightly as he knew the job of telling the Levi squad where their captain was would fall to him.
