Would absolutely love for a Murder on the Orient Express moment. I dont want a who done it or a big did YOU do it type thing for once. I want the whole village (aka all the people hes directly hurt etc) to come together and whack this loser and then get away with if because they all felt super justified and dont regret it. But maybe thats just me.

if john's eventual exit is being killed by someone in the village, between nate's death and the torture that mack's been put through i do think it's increasingly likely that cain and moira are the ones to put our money on.

not to put my defend aaron hat on but the idea that he's in the wrong and owes robert tons of praise and big speeches because of whats happening atm is kinda wild. he's actively being gaslit, soon to be drugged, and has no reason to think the man he married is a weirdo creep. like yeah, Rob's gonna be owed apologies but its not as if the village and aaron know the truth and are just shitting on him for fun.

What if the potential reason for Rob going down and not fighting it is as simple as "what's the point?"

If he thinks Aaron's gone or not waking up, what if he simply loses the will to move on? His entire reason for existing, per his own words these days, is Aaron. If he feels he carries any responsibility at all, if John hits him with a "you did this" before taking him over. If he really truly thinks Aaron is lost to him, why fight back? To Robert life without Aaron is meaningless, how could prison hurt him worse?

robert has so little these days, nothing that comes close to the hope that he might be with aaron again. seeing aaron fall to his "death", people thinking he'd be capable of hurting aaron, just the thought of going back inside, let alone actually being in prison again. not being there in time to save aaron, thinking he didn't do enough, he didn't stop john. there's nothing to live for and everyone would be better off if he was just gone because he failed

I got the vibe from their conversation at the start that John was trying to gaslight him into thinking he'd been saved so that he could play hero again. Which is fucking insane because what. but to me he seemed so genuinely annoyed slash frustrated when mack was like you tried to kill me just like you killed nate. like mack was ruining the lifeline john was so kindly~ granting him. It's still a fucking stupid ass plan and isnt one built to work long term.

not to advocate for murder on main. especially not where mack is concerned. but what is johnny boy's big plan here? nurse mack back to health 'til he's so grateful for the not-murdering-bit that he'll keep his mouth shut forever and call him a hero? keep him in his creepy little bunker 'til the end of all time? let him slowly starve so john at least won't have been the one to have put the nail in the metaphorical coffin? what is it? god, i hate a villain who's too pathetic to commit to their own bit.
