Another dungeon rant, yes i know but i kinda just wanna share some ideas, so you know like i said before there could have been a breakable door so instead of people doing this
Tumblr media
Or this
Tumblr media
We could just have the ones like in the farm level instead so it does feel like you're actually going through doors, you know these things help with how the players feel when playing the game, no need to waste stars on gates with the levers right in front of them(which also looks dumb) or breakable blocks which doesn't fit at all, a breakable door would be far better, another thing that could be added is box triggers, this is very useful for a lot of things, might as well add one more idea to go with it as well, disappearing boxes, you can put an invisible box where if a player gois in the box it wpuld trigger, so as a trigger box is activated the disappearing boxes could you know disappear, this could be useful for setting up events that happen in your dungeons, dropping enemies down or make rocks rain down, alternatively this could also be used for bosses as well, bosses do have a trigger range but somrtimes it's just not good enough, i once were making a tower dungeon where you climb up, at the top there was ted betty waiting for you to fight, as it is a tower though i needed to place ladders, this is a problem because as soon as my character or anyone spawns in the dungeon for some reason ted gets triggered immediately and starts climbing down the ladders, this of course ruins that part, so i had to replace ted with a gou ninja instead, you know why can't all bosses trigger like gou ninja tho, another possibility is boss triggers, you know how i very much hate bosses in dungeons but they could be improved by also having triggers you know, so its like if you havent killed the boss you can't progress like in story mods but this like i said could also be used for other things, you know arena dungeons are very hard to do but this adds that possibility, say you kill ted and then that would trigger food falling from the sky and then other enemies start to appear out of thin air, this is a lets a lot of creativity altho i would admit this is waaay too much to ask for compared to the simpler just an option remove timer or wheter you could choose whether you have to kill everything in the dungeob or not but ehh i think it could've been added in the time they took to make the hallow knight update, but i understand with the new games they also take time out updating blackmoor 2.

I think ill do a follow up kinda to the whole dungeon dissapointment thing tho i'm probably just repeating myself here,
So it's such a shame that dungeons ended up being abandoned at this point and i don't really count more bosses and enemies being added well because im assuming they are a biproduct of the actual update and they only have to add them into dungeons, im not discrediting the work needed to add these enemies into dungeons but if i think adding an already existing feature into dungeons doesn't count as a dungeon update then ever since release dungeons had only ever gotten 1 actual update which whould be portals, anyway i think enemies and bosses aren't what dungeons need, they could've been but with how bosses are implemented they only hurt the dungeons? Why? First of all they really seem out of place, you're playing a stage that's supposed to be fast paced and beaten quickly which dungeons feel like that and you just come across a tanky guy who takes ages to kill, it ruins the pacing and that's what i dislike about them another is that they take a lot of stars, it limits what you could've added in the dungeons instead of a boss that ruins the pacing now also taking away the option of something else that could've been added instead, enemies on the other hand are sort of better but only at certain circumstances, they do take a bit less stars so that's a good thing, and if you have an enemy used as an obstacle in your way that's fine but if you have to go out of your way to find and kill an enemy that is not fine, it's annoying, and the lack of simple things that could be added to help with this is ridiculous, idk maybe add a mose where killing everything isn't a requirement that already makes a lot more options for people to work with, i had a big problem eith this before, i tried making a prison escape dungeon where you could just go the normal route where enemies in cells will try to kill you as well if you flicked all the levers but that already created a problem, if you don't kill those enemies then you can't win, so my supposedly punishment for flicking all the levers you see and freeing all the other prisoners to fight you already broke the dungeon, i also happened to add a shortcut where you could take a harder route but you get skip half the level but that also breaks the level too as you'd have to kill all the enemies to win, so basically i had to scrap all the enemies which made it boring until the shortcut which imo wasn't even supposed to be the highlight of the dungeon making what the dungeon could've been into a very boring level about slowly walking in tight places ocassionally have a guy throw rocks at you which you kill in like 3 seconds, you see what i mean? Not having to kill every enemy creates so many possibilities and seemingly such a simple option to add into dungeons, but it's not there and it will never be a thing ☹.
Disabling timer would be a less but also helpful feature, i think whoever ran the twitter account tho straight up denied how it would even be a good idea
Tumblr media
While i can agree this wouldn't change much it could make a slightly better experience for both dungeon players and creators if it were set to be the default option and you can make the timer thing optional, how you might ask? As a dungeon creator i had to wait a few minutes just to make a reasonable timer for my dungeons however some people don't, and because of that here's why some players could get a better experience, for an example imagine you were playing a dark mode dungeon with 4 other people and you find a dungeon where you just have to kill ned betty and run to the exit door, this also is the problem with scaling now the guy beat it in 45 seconds which gives you and your teamates 1 and a half mins to beat up a ned betty that's probably 5 times stronger than what the creator fought and still have to run to the exit in time, let me remind you that 4 playes doesnt actually means 4 times damage output so this dungeon is impossible to beat in this situation you get what i mean? So yeah for now that's about all i wanna say about dungeons you could expect me doing more sometime in the future.

Just gonna be honest tho, i don't feel like putting the negativity anywhere else but here, so here's the things i don't like about the update, dungeon: would've preferred if they had put in more obstacles/mechanics into dungeon mode instead of more bosses, imo enemies are fine but bosses just don't fit dungeon mode, maybe if they nerf but i really hate dungeons like "fight envoy" or "fight evil duberry" or "fight gou ninja with spikes everywhere" it doesnt add a twist and it doesn't make it any better than what it already is in story mode, dungeon enemies are about 1.5 times stronger than the story so that doesn't help at all, what i'm trying trying to say is that bosses generally make dungeons worse, they're not fun they only work properly in arenas and we already fight them in story mode so making an arena for them is dumb and makes that part of the dungeon significantly more bland, adding traps like spikes in the arena doesn't help either like i said they're about 1.5 times stronger than their story counterparts and these traps DO NOT hurt them in any way whatsoever, they also use up stars, stars that could've been used to make an interesting dungeon obstacle instead wasted on a boss that would make the dungeon worse, yeah why make an interesting dungeon when we can just make a flat arena with 3 evil duberry's surely people would have fun with that, so basically i hate dungeons because they're mostly made of bosses which are not only poorly handled imo but they also limit what's an already very limited stage creator, personally tho i think bosses should be 40% of what they are in the story instead and reduce their stars, i don't feel it's fun at all and more things should definitely be implemented, where's the pool of water that acts like when you fall into the bottom of the map, we could do so much with that, a freeze ray or turret which is like the turret but it freezes your character instead would be cool too, wall jumping? Of course, Power ups? Regen pools? Breakable doors? Doors that are already open for decorative purposes? So much possibilities of what could be added and what do we get? A friggin 6 foot tall robot that doesn't get knocked down and throws you thinking that would improve anything, we also need customizations, saw blade speed or moving platform speeds we also want those customizable, turret bullet speed or damage customization or even rate of fire, lasers that make turrets fire things? Levers that open the gate/door but also activate traps? A key to open doors too would be great, i feel bad for the avryrox guy they seemed passionate about the dungeon mode but it turns out it was very limiting so they left, no wonder even almost 2 years after release THIS is what dungeon mode turned out to be, barely updated, just added portals and 2 more themes as well as more enemies and bosses that don't help the dungeon whatsoever. So yeah overall dungeon was supposed to be what the end game players would play because they'd end up with limitless possibilities, but with how limiting it is the best thing you could do with it is just mediocre at best, i think the endless mode i great, it sets up a story for their next game but a big dungeon mode update with a lot more possibilities of what you can do with it would be good too, you already made a mode why not improve it first before moving on.

So when i was just having random thoughts about comparing the character you play in minecraft and the characters in blackmoor 2 i thought about how the player can just bring food/potions to heal themselves or give themselves a boost,
Similarly blackmoor 2 characters also heal when they eat so that made me think.
Why don't they just bring food too?
Maybe it's because the minecraft character has a huge inventory but then again the blackmoor 2 characters also has a huge inventory.
Only that it's only filled with equipment that's basically useless once you get one of that single weapon, so i thought why don't they just bring food/potions too.
if you could buy potions that would give gold a use which will never run out. Or at least the not so great healing items, i thought about how this would probably be in the eyes of some people be considered pay to win, so what about the better potions being traded with legendary equipment instead because the guy you sell it to doesn't appreciate the rarity of it, if it's still a bit overpowered maybe you can just make it a rng thing so you don't know what potion you will get for bartering a legendary equipment perhaps a health potion that can heal either 40% of your health or 100% of your health being the rarest or maybe a speed potion lasting from 10 seconds to 2 minutes being the rarest.
So you can give gold a purpose by selling these pretty decent potions like healing 10-30% of your hp when you use it, the best potions you only get from trading one of your legendary equipments which will give dupes a use or someone like me who doesn't care about legendaries at all.
For balancing either you can only bring one of these potions and use them once or you can bring a few different types of potions and then you can only use one type once
You know i think it'll make the game more interesting
Like imagine faster animations or skill cooldown or just walking faster(which you shouldn't even need a potion for plz buff character walkspeed)
Just a random idea though those useless items need a use in my opinion
Probably creating a bunch of bugs in the process

Blackmoor 2 rant part 4
And the update also has a ridiculous balance patch that's outrageous....
Angel of chaos.. Arena Angel of chaos now has a buffed force push that it hits ducking opponents.... this is ughhhh
"but maybe it is just a pvp angel buff right she's weak over there"
Well they apparently CANNOT SEPERATE PVP BUFFS WITH STORY ONES APPARENTLY IF ONE CHANGES THE OTHER HAS TO AS WELL!!!!!
And they also buffed o bear and now he... uhhh HE ROLLS
I am freaking DONE with this game i hope their next game DOES not have these bs things anymore.
Alright for now that covers about what i hate about the game, i'll return if they listen

Blackmoor 2 rant part 3
This update is just ughhh.. it's finally what made me realize what the game actually is and it drives me away from even playing the game...
Well the positive thing is that raven's playable now, that is handicapped raven.
The new boss is just a disaster i rate it 1/10 just because of how bad it is
First of all the hurtbox doesn't make sense you're just walking into those small harmless looking legs and getting damaged.
2nd the boss just jumps everywhere, what annoys me is that it NEEDS to charge before running BUT jumping is INSTANT!!!!
And it summons the character you're playing except stronger in a lot of cases
"Oh but they die easily" well i don't care even hitting them is hard you know they literally land on the ground faster and then they're bigger so they have a size advantage so it's horrible, and if you think that's bad THEY RESPAWN INFINITELY UNTIL THE BOSS DIES!!!!!!
Tumblr media
This image is just straight up sad....
The devs acknowledge how ridiculous the boss is that they expect players to have to use continues.... i apologize but this is sad to look at

Blackmoor 2 rant part 2
So why do people spam huh?
Well maybe they don't have enough healing?
It makes sense because checkpoints don't heal and barrels are rng, as a result people spam projectiles that's sad because the devs hate the spammer style yet they buff projectiles and make checkpoints not heal in coop, indirectly creating projectile spammers, why melee and risk getting hit by the unfair enemies and dying while you can just stand in the back and spam projectiles.
To be honest i don't get why don't they just make checkpoints heal in coop anyway.
What would hurt? From my prespective it only hurts the playerbase by driving people away who realize how stupid it is,
Because enemies already get stronger everytime a player joins so why do checkpoints still not heal in coop....

Blackmoor 2 rant part 1
Alright so there's lots of reason why i don't upload blackmoor 2 videos anymore
It's because of the game in general
Once you realize what the game actually is it takes the fun out of it a lot.
So let's start
First of all i hate how the enemies attacks are unpredictable,i know it is designed based on of street fighter but imagine a 2d side scroller where ALL the enemies have unpredictable attacks it is not fun at all,
The player should be superior somewhere and that is to dodge attacks if they made the right decision, you don't have to make attacks unpredictable to damage the player there's loads of other ways to make the player dodge the wrong way and then that would result in them just being like "oh crap i messed up" in my opinion a 2d side scroller enemies should have ALL of ther attacks being predictable.
But that's not even the case, some enemies get more unfair things like invincible roll, faster walkspeed, lightning jumps, and increased gravity of all things.
Here's a picture of one of the devs trying to justify these things
Tumblr media
Strength does NOT equal memorable
The fact that he is an unfair boss makes people want to forget him because who is really happy about getting beat up by an unfair boss, luterally making him the exact opposite of memorable and that he becomes forgettable.
Unfair and Challenging are 2 different things most if not all blackmoor 2 bosses fall into the unfair category
Tumblr media
Oh really? So you don't care about balance huh that's why this boss is such bs and is so hated......
Tumblr media
Oh right sure being teamed up the boss doesn't stand a chance huh, then why does he act the literal exact same in a 1v1, don't you care about single player experience considering it's bad for the game you should be more aware of that.
Speaking of spamming why do players spam huh?
