We live in the dumbest, lamest cyberpunk dystopia possible.

So LA has been — and continues to — protest against ICE. These protests haven’t gotten any smaller or lost any momentum, but social media wasn’t reflecting it.

TikTok users, realizing that the platform/other social media are censoring/deleting/shadowbanning these protest videos, decided to find a workaround.

They’re calling it the LA Music Festival. Ice detention centers and other protest locations are “stages.” The hottest band is Rage Against the Machine. “Here’s what gear you should be bringing to stay safe at the LA Music Festival.”

And it fucking worked.

TikTok has become a proving ground for a lot of new music, meaning lots of labels and organizations have lucrative deals with TikTok to promote their new artists and music festivals. So they absolutely cannot censor the words “music festival” or train the algorithm to ignore it, or they risk endangering that very important revenue.

So now protest videos are flooding feeds again, but it’s the LA 24/7 Music Festival. Truly an incredible timeline we’ve landed in.

still heavily into KCD2 but yk the insanity that geopolitical minecraft causes me 💔 but i was also playing the new update for CK3 and they added an option for SEA kingdoms wc was so awesome and an influence to Cynikka's design! Most pre-colonial Filipinos did not wear headdresses unless you were from the far north/south so I just put that element in to complete her more Tagalog look. Fun fact: blue dye very hard to produce and is usually created to be a more indigo look in precol times. Also blue birds are considered magical due to the fact that they didn't appear very often in nature att.

Flux's fit is near impossible to exist bc of the very existence of purple AND black dye alone. I designed him to have a typical low-key pourpoint but it being in purple and black.... Idk perhaps he got that nepo money from Elaneulo LOL

Speaking of dyes... The expensive red dye (kermes) comes from some lice in the Mediterranean. Which was kind of hilarious to me but Schpood having rich red for his Roman theme + Mediterranean was too good to pass.

Very obvious where I got the design for Saps, Schpood and Turntapp (especially) designs r pulled a lot from KCD2 characters (iykyk)

A lot of women in general att had their hair up but I figured Cass would be a firm and wild spirit enough to leave it down ♥️ her dress r from the art nouveau insp by Norse fashion to show her progressiveness. The flowers to symbolize how her kingdom thrived ^__^ 🌸

Despite having not much to say and it being pretty period accurate (except for the crown) Jophiel is my favorite! I love the vividness of her kingdom's banners/ her clothing reflecting their wealth and power

Once again thinking about Veilguard and pealing back some of the layers, and I can't help but think about the way both Morrigan and Solas' interactions with Mythal are heavily retconned, but how this is used to emphase Solas' pain and angst, and yet its used to minimise and refute Morrigans pain and angst.

Because the few conversations we have with Morrigan in DAtV basically boil down to 'haha I was so stupid for thinking Flemeth was abusive or wanted to possess me - now I know the truth, I was being silly before, and she loved me all along'. This is a sharp turn away from even Inquisition, where Flemeth/Mythal was actively holding her child hostage and giving her ultimatums about Morrigans own safety vs. her sons. There's basically no depth or nuance brought to that conversation, Morrigan was just wrong, and now she's happy to have her worst fear happen to her.

Meanwhile, Solas, who was characterised in DAI, Tresspasser, The Masked Empire and Dalish lore as a trickster God, playing every side, a principled man with his own goals...he is reduced in DAtV to be basically Mythals puppet, with everything bad or morally complex he ever did (sundering the Titans/releasing the blight/sealing away the fade) being something he was 'tricked' or forced into by Mythal. This is truly hammered home when Solas only stops his plan because Mythal tells him that he can do so, and that he doesn't have to do what they wanted etc.

And this is infurating! I mean, I think its more interesting if Solas wasn't pressured into doing these things, but if that was really the route they wanted to go down...there are serious discussions/lore implications that Mythal actively forced Solas to get a body, ignoring his autonomy and wishes, something which should slot well into Morrigans storyline...but it just doesn't! It just doesn't because Flemeth is framed as always right about this whole thing!

It just screams Misogny to me. A real preference for this man and absolving him of all his blame, while actively ignoring and minimising the very real abusive behaviour Flemeth/Mythal showed to Morrigan.

Non-conclusive list of Antivan Andriastianism headcanons

First of all, what do I mean with ‘Antivan Andriastianism’: I’m referring to the hc that Antiva would have regional religious practices that deviate from the accepted practice within the Orlesian Chantry, which developed mostly throughout their working class, assassin guilds and the Antivan alienages.

Most of them come from the concept of fervor popular within latin america.

Nobility in Antiva look down upon most of the iconography and practices that come from it, although some things permeate upwards, such as calling Andraste ‘Our Lady of Antiva’

The iconography behind Our Lady of Antiva came from an apparition experienced by an elven servant where they saw the prophet Andraste and, instead of looking like the statues in the Chantry, she looked like them.

However, it also seems that ‘Our Lady of Antiva’, with her many names and appearances, also became an icon of its own, almost completely separate from the Chantry itself.

It’s not uncommon to see her painted on the walls of slums and alienages.

She’s also referred to as ‘The Dead Bride of the Maker’, ‘The Burnt Bride of Antiva’ and ‘Our Dead Lady Prophet’. Sometimes religious people who work for an assassin guild might refer to her as ‘Our Dead Lady’ or ‘Our Dead Lady Redeemer’

It’s not uncommon for Antivans to carry a candle in a glass jar with a hand-painted Andraste, which they usually paint themselves: the superposition is to light it every night you’re away from home so you, like Andraste when she was taken, return to it.

Truly you’re more likely to hear about Andraste being dead in Antiva than anything else, and given how Antiva is, you shouldn’t really be surprised.

Popular processions of the Burnt Bride of Antiva aren’t uncommon. They will usually take a statue or icon of Andraste and walk her around. The figurehead of the procession will claim “Our Burnt Lady of Antiva” and the crowd will reply “Pray for us” every other block.

There’s a festival for the birthday of Andraste (whenever that date the Antivan elves decided that was) where people dress up as charred brides and/or Maleficars or demons, with a lot of dances associated to it (this is directly inspired by La Tirana)

The Orlesian Chantry consider half these things heresy.

Kirkwall has a similar thing going on with the whole ‘Andraste to the left’ deal, only theirs is Our Lady Unshackled. Whenever the news go around of a slaver dying or someone being saved from them, the Andrastian elves will say Our Lady Unshackled did it.

In fact, most self-defence within both the aliange and the slums is attributed to ‘Our Lady Unshackled’, to the point more than one Captain of the Guard or Knight Commander has thought that was an Actual Person being heretic by hiding ‘their crimes’ under the name of Holy Andraste.
