For those who aren’t in the know, Rei accidentally reveals he and Kazuki are literal hitmen, after which these moms simp for the duo like they just learned who Japan’s most eligible bachelors are.

Hear me out here.

Setting aside the moms’ simping, their reactions to the reveal are… pretty indifferent. It’s like in general, assassins are fairly open secrets in any given Buddy Daddies world.

In comes the potential for psychological horror.

The only way assassins can run around in any world and then retire without having to create new identities is so much corruption in their favor. I imagine that the usual options for dealing with assassins? You know—cops, authority figures, maybe even bodyguards? You can never be sure which of them are conspiring with which assassin(s).
