Touch-Starved Bucky

1. The first time you touch his hair, he goes still.

You’re just brushing a curl off his forehead. Casual. Thoughtless. But his whole body freezes. He doesn’t breathe. Doesn’t blink.

“You okay?” you whisper. He nods slowly. “No one’s… touched me like that in a long time.” So you do it again—gently, carefully—and he melts under your fingers.

2. He flinches the first time you hug him from behind.

Not because he’s scared—but because he’s not used to being held softly. When your arms wrap around his waist, you feel him tense, then slowly… sink.

“Just me,” you murmur into his back. “I know,” he says, voice thick. “Just… gimme a second.”

3. He apologizes when he touches you, even by accident.

Brushing hands. Shoulder bumps. His knee grazing yours under the table—every time, he pulls back and mumbles “Sorry.” Like touch from him might break you.

“You don’t have to apologize for being close to me,” you say. He looks down. “Sometimes I forget I’m allowed to.”

4. He doesn’t know what to do with comfort.

The first time you find him after a nightmare, you reach for his hand—and he stares at it like it’s a foreign object.

“You want me to—?” “Only if you want to,” you say softly. He takes your hand. Holds it like it’s fragile. Doesn’t let go all night.

5. He memorizes every place you touch him.

He won’t say it, but he catalogues it all: the back of his neck. His jaw. The inside of his wrist. He’ll touch those places when you’re not around, just to remember how it felt.

You catch him once, fingers pressed to his collarbone. “That’s where you kissed me,” he says quietly. Your heart cracks open.

6. He can’t initiate—but he craves it.

He’ll stand near you. Lean close. Rest his shoulder against yours on the couch. But he won’t be the one to reach out first. He doesn’t want to cross a line he thinks he doesn’t deserve to.

So you reach for him. Every time. And every time, he sighs like it’s the first time he’s exhaled all day.

7. He melts when you play with his fingers.

You do it absentmindedly—twining your hand with his, tracing the ridges of his knuckles, tapping your fingers against his palm. You look up and he’s just staring at you, eyes soft, expression unreadable.

“What?” “Just… didn’t know something so small could feel so good.”

8. He loves when you touch him when he’s sad.

He won’t say he’s upset. Won’t cry in front of anyone. But when he’s quiet and distant, you slide into his lap, wrap your arms around him, and tuck your face into his neck.

He doesn’t speak. Just holds you like a lifeline. Later, he whispers: “You don’t have to fix it. Just stay.”

9. He holds your hand in his sleep.

Every night, without fail, you wake up with his fingers laced through yours. Even when he’s dreaming, his body reaches for you. Like it needs proof you’re still there.

One night, you whisper, “You holding on to me again, Barnes?” He doesn’t open his eyes. Just mumbles, “Always.”

10. He touches you like a prayer.

Every caress is slow. Careful. Like he’s afraid the moment will end and you’ll disappear. He kisses your wrist. Brushes your hair behind your ear. Lets his hand linger on the small of your back longer than it needs to.

“You look at me like I’m something good,” he says one night. You cup his face. “You are something good.” He closes his eyes. “I’m trying to believe you.”

CapWinterSentry HCs

In honor of Steve's birthday today thought I would whip up thoughts on my favorite sandwich.

Bob sits inside Steve's shield on occasion when he's stressed and Steve will turn him in slow circles.

Bucky makes coffee for them all every morning.

Steve and Bob like to be warm at night, bundled up under blankets together while Bucky sleeps to the side without one.

It's been a learning curve for the triad, first Steve and Bucky had to adjust to public perception of their relationship and then again when Bob joined, but they refuse to let public opinion bother them. Steve will tell a reporter that he doesn't give a damn.

Steve has become a strong voice in Domestic Violence advocacy as well as resources for addicts.

Bob is the first one to initiate touch, holding hands, sitting in their laps. He can often be found spread out between them, head in Bucky's lap, feet in Steve's.

Bucky and Bob get an absolute kick out of Steve in uniform, they ogle the whole time. Bob loves saying "that's America's ass" and Bucky will say, "no that's our ass."

Instead of rings they all wear matching necklaces.

Steve loves to plan date days where the three of them go out to do things together, they go to all sorts of events in Brooklyn.

They have a room in the Watchtower but they also have an apartment for when they want to get away. It's cluttered with all sorts of things they enjoy, books to read, and lots of blankets.

Bucky does most of the cooking for the three of them, because Steve could burn water and Bob gets distracted easily.

They have movie and reading nights where they all huddle together to read or watch something.

Steve cuts Bucky and Bob's hair.

Whenever Steve starts thinking about Bucky and Bob's pasts he gets so angry he has to pace around or exercise.

Whenever Steve or Bucky goes off on a mission they always bring something back for Bob.

Bob is a clothes stealer and Steve loves borrowing Bob's pajamas.

Bucky lovingly refers to them as his punks.

Steve loves to have both of them pose for him to draw.

Bob loves looking through all Steve's sketchbooks when he's feeling low, it's nice to see how someone else views him.

They have catch up days when Bob reaches them about something new in pop culture. Bucky and Steve judge harshly and Bob finds it hilarious.

Wrong Side of the Tracks -- WinterSentry Modern AU

The Howling Commandos MC has been long established in this little backwater town, run by one veteran James Buchanan Barnes, only those he trusts get to call him Bucky, people like his right hand man John Walker.

He keeps his family safe, enjoys the drinks, smiles at the women, but there's something missing in his life. So when a drifting addict stumbles into their town looking to score, Bucky realizes just what that missing thing might be.

He takes Bob in, cleans him up, stays with him through the shakes and withdrawal of recovery. Gives him a family to belong in. And if he's secretly lip locked with him behind closed doors, everyone is smart enough not to say a word about it.

Bucky is all soft words, compliments and touches in private, but in public Bob is just another Commando at his beck and call. Another one of his boys.

Until Bob gets kidnapped. Until someone dares to lay a hand on something that belongs to him, and then all bets are off. All cards on the table, Barnes wages war.

Yelena and Ava are his best riders, Scott runs jobs that involve sticky fingers, and John is the muscle.

John bartends for the club for fun when he's bored.

The Howling Commandos all have 'end of the line' patches or tattoos.

Bob ends up living in a run down trailer until Bucky finds out about it and forces him to move into his house.

Bucky builds Bob his own bike.

Bucky still wears his dogtags 24/7.

Steve went MIA during their tour in the Army and it's where he met John and Lamar.

Bucky's mom and sister live in the city but he visits on holidays. They love Bob.

I don't think there's anything I've ever been scared to write. If I'm interested typically I'll give it a shot and if I don't like it then it just goes in the vault. If I like it then I share it.

It's all about having fun, that's why I write so I'm usually pretty relaxed about it!

12. I have a fic planned for after I finish Nothing Gory Means No Glory, that acts as a sort of loose sequel.

The idea ... the Bolts get sent back to 2014, back into their bodies at the time. John isn't a super soldier, Yelena is being mind controlled, Ava can't control her body, so forth and so on. But Bob, he comes back as himself and not only as himself but as a man who has had a decade worth of practice with the power of exploding suns!

And yes obviously he's married to Bucky ... the asset whose memory has been wiped.

17. I am sworn against gender-bending. As a queer individual, I don't see the point and often it's used because people don't want to commit to the idea that two people of the same gender can be in a relationship. Let the gays be gay. Let the boys kiss!
