the insane experience of missing a fictional character . like you can always go back and reread the book , replay the game , rewatch the show or movie , you can always go back & see them , but you can never experience them & their story for the first time again . its absurd to miss them because they'll always be there , but you'll miss when there were still new things for them to say .

for a small time they were real & growing and changing and you hung onto every new word, but now all they can do is repeat the same story forever&ever & they're not real anymore because you know everything they're going to do. & you miss them. its fucked man...

There's also the one for Sakura, my kitsune cleric of the Green Mother. She's gonna have a very toxic situationship with Camellia and Ulbrig, but I mostly haven't started because I'm not quite sure about her mythic path. I think angel would be interesting, basically forcing this evil cleric to be a better person, but I'm not sure how to write it. There'd also be a lot of very toxic smut that I'm a bit iffy on writing.

It's cheating a bit because the game isn't out yet, but I already have a character planned out for Dark Heresy and I really want to play her and write about her.

Her name is Ione de Tharral, a psyker and inquisitor of the Ordo Malleus (the one that fights/investigates demons). She's part of a radical sect of the Inquisition called the Xenos Hybris, which believes that it's in the Imperium's best interest to cooperate and learn from aliens rather than kill them. She's not open about this belief because it teeters on the edge of heresy. (this is subject to change, I might keep her a more traditional inquisitor) She was raised to be a Sister of Battle before being recruited as an inquisitorial acolyte and still has some resentment of the life that was taken from her.

I plan to have her romance the kroot or the aeldari companion, maybe both because I'm predictable and I like xenos.

The main thing keeping me from writing about Nadia is that she's not Hilde, but I do have her fic planned out! Spoilers for Aeon ending.

Nadia would be a true aeon commander, dhampir alchemist whose parents were turned into vampires and attacked her, forcing her to flee her home and resulting in her becoming a fanatic devotee of Pharasma. The fic would mostly be about her romance with Daeran, and a post-canon fic of Daeran trying to find her again and reconnect with the other companions after the timeline reset. There'd also be stuff of the actual game framed as flashbacks.

yrliet’s romance is physically chaste, sure, but it isn’t without eroticism & so i fundamentally disagree that her romance is ‘sexless’. it’s just that the eroticism is filtered through the desire of the gaze & what is defined as sex within the context of the relationship is very spiritual & abstract. there’s this repeated emphasis on describing how she stares at you. the intensity of it. how it reveals that which is hidden. how it penetrates. from the very beginning, there’s this power dynamic of her as the dominant, active looker and you as the passive, accepting lookee (a dynamic which flips as your relationship develops & she submits to the intimacy of being gazed upon).

The conservative worldview teaches them that things like mass deportation and police brutality and racist laws only affect Bad People. So if they know someone that they believe to be a Good Person (which of course includes themselves), they don't believe that they would get deported ("We're only deporting the Bad People). And many of them are so rotten that they just believe all immigrants are Bad People by virtue of being immigrants, but the ones like this lady know enough immigrants to believe that there are Good and Bad ones, and they just assumed that the mass deportations wouldn't affect the Good ones. This is not excusing them and they should have known better, but their worldview has convinced them that anyone who is punished by the state must have deserved it, and they're confused that the Good Immigrants are also being targeted by these laws. Every contradiction in conservative thinking makes sense if you look at it through the lens of Good and Bad people and who these people assume are Good and Bad.

That user may not be trying to dunk, but I am. As that user said, Republicans at the RNC gleefully held signs at the RNC saying "mass deportations now" and everyone heard Trump saying Haitian immigrants were eating cats and dogs. There was no "information environment" that hid this information from voters. They heard Trump's explicit promises of violent xenophobia loud and clear. They knew. We all knew.

We have got to stop treating voters like children who can't possibly be held accountable for their actions. There's a fucking legal age requirement for voting for a reason--because it's assumed that by the age of 18, people are old enough to understand the world around them and that there's a cause/effect with their actions. These MAGA fucks weren't some sheltered, lost lambs who had no idea what they were doing. Every Trump voter did vote to deport moms, it's just that some never thought they would face consequences for their actions, so now they're trying to rewrite history and deflect blame. That's all it is.

Democratic politicians may not be able to treat them with the contempt they deserve without facing electoral backlash, but the rest of us are under no obligation to entertain these people's lies. People refusing to hold MAGA accountable for supporting the most gleefully, proudly awful person alive is a big reason why we're back in this fucking hell 8 years later. These people should have been shamed from polite society way back in 2016. Fuck them. The guilt should keep them up at night for the rest of their lives.

Everything about this scene is absolutely perfect, from the overall message and show of racism to Lilo's stellar delivery to Stitch's glee at realizing what's going on to the way it associates the literal invading aliens with white tourists. I understand that some scenes had to be cut from this movie due to the cartoon violence being too violent or sensitivity over 9-11, but this scene being removed was pure cowardice on Disney's part. The remake presented an opportunity to actually improve the movie by strengthening its messages, but of course Disney decided to shoot the messages of family and anti-racism dead instead.
