It bugs me that there doesn't seem to be a ton of ways to earn badges on Tumblr. I know they are available for purchase on the site, but I don't want to buy badges! I want to earn them! I don't want my badges to be a signifier of my wealth. I want them to tell a story of my time here. I want to be rewarded for how often I post, or how many times I posted on a tag. I want a badge for commenting and reblogging other posts. For how many annoying accounts I've blocked. I just did a whole year of posting every day! I would love a badge for that! Badges should come with fanfare, and commemorative posts from Tumblr saying "This is how you engage! This it what it means to be on Tumblr!" I want the satisfaction of knowing I had to work for my badges. I don't get any satisfaction for just paying for them.
