My friend Gabby and her family are in a rough spot. Gabby is smart, compassionate, kind, and extremely hard working. She’s had to drop out of school to take care of her family. I’ve known her for years and it’s heartbreaking seeing her and her family go through so much. Any small amount you can give would help and if you’re unable to donate- please spread the word.

This campaign is for a wonderful, long-time friend of ours. We met way back in Wrath-era WoW! We did a lot of silly stuff together over the years, hopped between games together, and just made so many fun memories. It's hard to see someone we care for greatly in this kind of position, and we want to help her in any way we can.

Gabby’s mother was recently diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer in her brain and lungs, now also spread to her pancreas, kidney, and liver, as mentioned on the GoFundMe page. Her father is also diagnosed with congestive heart failure, and though she doesn’t make mention of it here, I know Gabby’s health is in delicate condition as well. As such, their options for income are terribly limited, and they are at risk of missing bills and losing their home.

As mentioned in @alterac (OP)'s post, Gabby is amazingly selfless and sweet, and her mother and father are both troopers! They need help bearing this burden that's been thrown on their shoulders.

Needing some help.

I apologize for such a suddenly serious post, but I need to ask a favor of all of you who follow or watch this blog. My little brother, Mikey, admitted himself to the hospital today due to a bowel obstruction; from what he’s been told, it was caused by some scar tissue on his stomach, which he’s had since he was born.

I haven’t been able to see Mikey in person for about 10 years due to being halfway across the country from each other and lack of travel expenses between us, so there isn’t much I can do to help support him beyond keeping in touch and staying up-to-date on his recovery. But a good friend of his set up a GoFundMe for him to aid in covering hospital fees, so I’m passing that along here.

Mikey’s a wonderful, generous person who always helps out his friends and family, and never asks for anything in return, and I’m so proud of the good man he’s become. And I want to try to do the big sister thing for once and help him in the few ways I can.

God, this was just. Heartbreaking to wake up to. I don’t know if many people who follow this blog knew Meph; I wasn’t super close with him, myself, but he was on a Discord server with me and a few of our WoW friends. Occasionally he and I’d exchange a joke or talk about anime. He was a funny, honest guy in my brief experience with him, and even though I didn’t know him very well, our little Discord server won’t be the same without him.

i will write something more coherent when it’s not 3:30 in the morning and i’m not crying but it was pointed out that @mephedup had not come online in a few days. i googled his name and learned that on the 8th, he was struck by a young driver and is no longer with us. i know a lot of his friends and guild mates follow me and i don’t know how to offer any sort of closure on this because i’m still coming to grips with it but i would like to ensure those close to him are aware and not left wondering
