Today I'm in the mood to yap about Oreca Battle, so that's what I'll do /slapped

I want to yap about how I feel regarding to the protagonists of each chapter as a starter

While it's true that other monsters that appear or can be combined when you first play also count as starter (Ex: Robot Type-II, Summoner Kiku, Mage John, Rakshasa, Dran, etc.), I want to limit my yapping to the protags for now, because well, they're who I'm most familiar with-

S (My personal fav as a starter)

Flame Warrior Burn Why Burn is my fav starter? Because his commands are really easy to understand, his power is pretty high, easy to change class as well, and his skill "Flame Sword" that can inflict ATK Down and Burn (inflict damage for certain amount of turns)

A (Solid starter pick imo)

Warrior Tanta Oh Tanta, the absolute starter of Oreca Battle- Not only his commands are easy to understand and use, easy for class change as well, he is also a necessary monster to have for a lot of combine, encounter, and cut-in! A very versatile(?) starter tbh

Swordsman Dante Dante is honestly a very fun pick for a starter, especially because of his command "Drain". To have a monster that can attack and heal at the same time is a big advantage early on imo Tho, his initial commands that is filled with mostly "Miss" might make other people a bit doubtful- Also, his background is very lore-rich, with tons of cut-in with other monsters and the other medias that explain his story outside of game-only stuff

Gunner Dartan Another monster that I would say a solid pick Easy to understand and simple commands, easy to class change as well The only thing that might discourage other to have him is probably just his EX, that kinda depend on having allies that are also warriors or have a motion akin to "Critical/Deadly Strike" Tho it's not a requirement, more to use his EX to the fullest potential

Aqua Warrior Flow Also a very solid pick His advantage is having "Aqua" which is a magic attack and water-attributed, so a real good companion to have for adventuring at Chapter 2 or fighting against earth attribute monsters in the future Not mentioning, his lore as well! ...tho it's more prevalent on outside medias like the anime and manga-

B (Okay as starter)

Earth Warrior Rock In my opinion, Rock is hella interesting to have in the team because of his unique combo system In which, you can attack again right after your first attack, being able to continue attacking until you hit "Miss" But that combo system is also what might discourage other player to have him as well- Because if Rock's power is not high enough or you're not lucky to avoid hitting "Miss", you're just going to contribute you opponent's EX gauge instead-

Heated Warrior Ares He is a pretty fun monster to have in your team Especially his command "Fervor!" that can changes all of your skills in your commands into "Heat Saber" that is very powerful! But if you're not careful and instead have too much "Fervor!" in your command, it will only hinder you chance to attack-

C (Bit hard as starter)

Dia Although she have a very unique EX move and combat system, her starting stat is... not good- She only able to use "Attack!" and "Pray Healing" on her initial state, and most of the time, she might get KO'ed first before she can use her EX move- But if you have decent team or able to level her up and class change her, she will definitely be a great addition in your team

Samurai Hien Hien have a very unique combat system that might confuse first-time players when first introduced Hien have 2 mode, which is when he sheathed and unsheathed his sword, and most of his attacks are more powerful when his sword is in unsheathed position He require a very precise strategizing both in battle and command building, so not very beginner friendly imo-

Wind Warrior Hayate In all actuality, I wanted to put Hayate on B category It was only hindered with the inconvenience on how to class change him, which require either, a) Mask of Sheltering Wind, which is an item drop from his 3☆ Boss Encounter. Thankfully not a rare drop, but still- b) Wind Drop Seed(?), which is an item drop from Oroshi's boss encounter, and it's a rare item drop that require you to win to get it- There was a reason why Oniwaka was much more prevalent on the starting screen than Hayate is-

Never actually have them in my team-

...pretty self-explanatory, ye? /slapped Although I have Leon in my team, I never actually summoned him in battle- Leon definitely feels like a monster I would put on B category, but since I never actually went into a battle with him, I won't commentate further-

And the other category should be pretty self-explanatory as well I don't really want to commentate on monsters that I've never personally went to battle with-

A quick little comic that I made on Cookie Run Comic Studio, based on one of the rounds I played during Cookie Run OvenSmash's Closed Beta Test 🎀

While partaking in another OvenSmash Battle Royale Match, Dark Choco is one of the four remaining players on the field 🍫 However the Warrior Prince can't seem to find the other three who are also in the game

Not even Herb, his boyfriend and navigator, couldn't get any detection of anyone that could possibly be nearby 🪴 That is until he gets kidnapped by a fancy mafia member from behind, thus losing his navigation signal

Worried for his dear plant love, Dark Choco quickly hid behind an alleyway full of crates Trying to regain some of his HP back while wondering what might have happened on Herb's end

Unfortunately he didn't have to wait for that long, as the dark-haired prince himself is immediately ambushed by a trio of String Cheese The dedicated gatling gun-wielding maid that can use double team, ends up kidnapping Dark Choco While Brie has kidnapped Herb moments prior 🪤

Knight Majora (his real name is Kakigori Clockwise) is one of the four members from the Miraculous Persona Guild to not get captured by the corrupted and unknown Veiled Cookies that attacked a couple of years, prior to becoming a trustworthy Hollyberrian Guard 🦚

Unfortunately he got the most amount of injuries out of the surviving members As the Peacock of Emotion, his feelings are now all over the place after the Veiled Cookie Incident 💫

From what Knight himself was able to decipher, there's at least four common personas he ended up with: 🎀 *Verte Knight - His main Persona, who's focused and motivated with his role and overall occupation 💚 *Rojo Knight - This Persona mainly shows up while he's with Red Velvet and/or Adventurer, being optimistic yet really worried for them ❤️ *Aoi Knight - Leading Persona that takes charge in battle, really arrogant and reckless although is scared of Sparkling just like the other Personas 💙 *Vio Knight - All that's left of Knight's past as the Peacock of Emotions, calm yet conniving at the same time with the latter being used strategically 💜

While writing yet alone thinking about these four sides of himself, caused yet another Emotional Tidal Wave in Knight's mind 🦚

This interpretation is being written by someone who have only played Oreca Battle at the arcade for 5 months, watch the anime, read just a few available chapters of the manga (using auto-translator nonetheless-), and reading other fans interpretation

So...I was reading the Orega Fire's adventure in the manga because I got bored and...

I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO ROBBED BEFORE

You're telling me that the Oreca Battle could've actually go on a different story if they were to choose the manga's storyline??

We're so robbed...

1. The main character introduction felt more natural

2. The adults can see the monster instead of just the players

3. Orega Fire can kickass?? I wish to see more of that

4.I was not expecting the manga went for a darker turn (I know they're gonna removed the blood in the anime but..holy crap)

5. Maybe I forgot about the anime but I really love that version of Mafuyu's backstory.

6.I adore seeing Nanawaraig's other personality, kinda wish they kept that

7.I know they gonna need a bigger budget for this but man, I wish we can see the other monsters that weren't show in the anime

8.Pazuzu was supposed to be a big threat in this story?? And that Mus became Orega Fire's Ally in the anime too?? Yeah we're totally robbed.

The list can go on and on...

That's how I felt reading the manga for the very first time, it became my favorite manga of the year

GOSH, I FELT- The anime and manga felt so much different, it was so wild- Both have their own uniqueness in their execution for the story, like how the anime is really trying to give the highlights to the protagonists from New Chapters series

First off, I am very much in agreement with how much better the introduction for our battlers are in the manga! Data and Gantetsu didn't just suddenly appear, and also get a highlight of how their personality are like!

Also the dark turn that the manga took, that was actually one of the aspect I like from the manga as well! The shocking card ripping, Fire who actually got hurt from the battle, and even how the adults can see the monsters and the damage of what happened after a battle as well, that put much more stakes in the battles! The anime instead give us the arc where Tanta fall into darkness and betray the team at episode 4 which is... actually pretty shocking and cool as well tbh-

Also, the pacing the manga have with the demon kings' respective arcs was much better as well I especially loved how they let Data fought against Demon King Azul by himself first, it makes much more sense for his character growth! I felt like that moment was stolen by the duel/rivalry between CuChulainn and GeBulg-

Like, friggin dammit man, we could have more time to process the Kazegakure Village arc to give Oroshi much more believable motive for poisoning Nanawarai as well- If only Saqqara's arc didn't hoard that much episodes ksjrgrehrh-

But also, the end arc after all of the Demon Kings finally defeated in the manga... feels a bit uncooked tbh- Even tho Pazuzu being the new threat to the Oreca Boys group is really cool (especially with him disguising himself as a human-), I still feel like the arc with the New Chapters' protagonists feels a bit under-prepared

I can definitely felt the lack of preparation within Rock's chapter the most Like, since the group have defeated both Saqqara and Enma early on, we end up having Gozumezu as the enemy of this chapter Which... kinda funny because Gozu and Mezu should've been defeated along with Enma on chapter 16-

...I end up rambling as well, lmao-

Anyway, the anime did have some pacing issue toward the end, while the only issue with the manga is within the new arc after all of the Demon Kings were defeated Kinda making it feels like the manga was planned to end after defeating Evil Lord Mus-
