It took me a while to notice - because the overall arc is so satisfying, imho! - that the Murderbot show doesn't actually have the big climax fight in the finale. It's in the previous episode. (And it was a good episode!) But the finale itself is all about the characters working together and being heroic in a completely different way. The closest thing to action is Gurathin's brief dip into a noirish cyberthriller, but even that doesn't involve fighting/action/gunplay, but rather a more low-key form of heroism, as does Mensah/Pin-Lee/et al going up against the corporates, Ratthi approaching a fully armored-up SecUnit, etc.
Everyone comes together and saves their friend and it's all falling action and friendship and character scenes, and I just really love that.
(I don't have anything against big action climaxes, because I too appreciate Premium Quality Entertainment. But I really like that the show did something different and made it work.)

Possibly somebody else has noticed this out loud before, but I haven't noticed it if so.
Getting at ART through Amena -- and prompting her to be honest -- is a huge step forward in social skills for Murderbot. It had to notice that ART is soft on adolescents, on the one hand, and recognize in time that Amena was likely to lie if not prompted, and maneuver the conversation into a position in which it could get Amena to tell the truth in a circumstance that would prompt ART to tell the truth.
It Is Learning and I am so proud of it.

Some points I want to make about the Murderbot tv show
As someone who has lived on hippie communes in the past, and who has met and befriended real hippie scientists, they seemed pretty accurate to me. Didn't strike me as mean spirted mocking, but rather light ribbing from the perspective of someone who has interacted with and maybe even IS a hippie type.
As for why make that character choice I'd say that they just make a good contrast to the Corporation Rim. Pres Aux are kind, well meaning, and goofy. They have dorky moments and are bit out of their depth when it comes to political intrigue and violence, which allows for MB to kind of step in and assist them while also rubbing up against their values as idealist pacifists. The corporation rim, and MB to an extent, are ruthless and pessimistic. Pres Aux are caring and optimistic, if a bit naive. And I think the ending of the show really hammers home that...it can be good to be naive. To be hopeful. Both Gurathin and MB learn from the rest of Pres Aux that optimism isn't pointless.
I actually LOVED the character of Leebeebee because she is a perfect way to demonstrate what is WRONG with sexualizing and objectifying MB. We are introduced to her, she's suspicious but her true nature has not been revealed, but we catch glimpses of her deep lack of empathy when she so casually and graphically describes how she would essentially take advantage of MB sexually. And so it serves as foreshadowing and also a kind of warning to the viewer. "Did you laugh when she said that? Imagine she is saying about a real person. Because she is. Not so funny anymore huh" and this is all tied together when she is revealed to be a violent cruel person.
Oh also about the inclusion of sex scenes and specifically the full frontal nudity of MB, it didn't seem gratuitous to me. Like showing MBs naked body, its lack of genitals, both showcases MBs vulnerability when it doesn't have its defenses up and hammers home both its human and inhuman qualities. I dunno I just thought the sequence felt very touching, especially all the parts where MB is being repaired.

I've finished drawing!!
At first, I stumbled upon the series completely by accident, and now I'm finishing the last book. I've fallen in love with this universe. I was also very surprised that they changed the plot of the book, and it wasn't a bad thing; instead, it made the show even more interesting. This is a rare occurrence. And how good Dr. Gurathin is in the show, omg. In short, read " The Murderbot Diaries" or watch the show; it's worth it
