This is a shot I took of the sunrise that I took the other day along with the time lapse that many of you saw a few days ago. It was quite a magical scene. Don't you agree? 😁 . So, something funny happened the other day. I answered a phone call from an unknown number which is something I don't usually do. The caller was a guy with a British accent. He went on and on with his sales pitch and I let him speak all the way through without interrupting so I can hang up. Next thing you know I had agreed to be on some kind of mailing list and after the call I immediately replied to the email so I can be removed from it. I must admit I was in a weakened state. Lord help me! If anything he could've been a car salesman and I would've bought it! 😂😂 Those accents get me all the time. This architectural wonder is in St. Louis. It's the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. Earlier this year we had traveled to that city to explore and capture many sites. . So, the meet was awesome! I'm clearly resurrecting this shot from the grave. This was taken sometime early in winter of this year - not sure if it was January, February, or March. Anyway , it was one of the coldest days of the year. We were a small group (@deftony83 @witness_x and I). We set out to find a spot that didn't exist because someone who shall remain nameless decided to photoshop the heck out of a photo and we wanted to search where it was in the city. We were tricked! I captured this shot during one of our meets with the wonderful @ArtofChi members who I can consider family. This is Matthiessen State Park. It's by far one of my favorite places to hike. I've gone here many times and it never gets old. That's one thing I have to do more of, to go hiking. I have been slacking, unfortunately. I remember loving the adventures I had of finding new hiking spots all the time. I'm going to make time for myself to do the things I really want to do. Sometimes the whole daily grind can get to me and it's just necessary to step away sometimes to keep balanced. I plan to go hiking on Sunday (weather will be sunny and not too cold) and maybe Monday if it doesn't rain like it's supposed to. If any of you want to go hiking with me I'd love a hiking buddy. First of all I'd like to say thank you to our veterans. Today is not just your day - it's every day and I know freedom isn't free. So, thank you. They say friends are the family you choose to have. I firmly believe so. This was when my Fam (@Art.of.Chi & @windycityspinners) and I went out to capture some amazing steel wool shots at the first ever Spinstameet in Chicago. We drew a great sized crowd. I noticed many people have this shot but I won't let it deter me from posting it. 😃 I came up with the idea first. Let's just pretend I did. Ok? 😂😂 . Anyway, back from a good Halloween and Day of the Dead weekend. Yesterday was probably the most significant day for me because we went to see my brother's photo displayed through a large projector. His photo among others were honored yesterday in Pilsen. I miss him dearly. Thank you @deftony83 for joining me. It meant the world to have your support.❤️ . For those who don't know the story - my brother was tragically killed by a drunk driver. To this day, if I see someone who can barely walk or handle their liquor I step in to make sure they don't drive. You just never know - tomorrow isn't promised. I live by my motto - Live life to the fullest! Hug those you love and tell them you love them. ❤️
