one of my friendly hallucinations, now looming over my shoulder: run it under cool water for a minimum of 10 minutes immediately.

me: dude i wanna finish putting my tea on to boil, i’ll do that later

the hallucination: you complete imbecile! you must run your fingers under water posthaste, lest the burn sink in further! the tea can wait!

me, reaching for the pot: fingers later. tea now.

the hallucination, watching me burn the same three fingers in the same way as before: absolute numbskull. i am appalled.
