I never really intended for this to be a tron-centric blog tbh, it was just my primary source of brainrot for so long and I think it’s probably why most people follow me. but it’s kinda funny to me that my other fandoms — some of which I’ve been part of just as long as tronblr — have been so relegated to my rp blogs that I feel bad for occasionally flashbanging everyone with my non-tron blorbos. I have such deep love and lore for characters I have not once posted about here. crazy

the shitty thing (to me) is that like............ conceptually I don't even think it's awful. the dillingers somehow getting their hands on flynn's technology, exploiting / militarizing it, essentially bringing to fruition what everyone was trying to prevent in legacy. that's not a bad premise. the problem is that it's happening 15 years too late with only tangential ties to the rest of the franchise. there's no reason why it couldn't have involved the existing plot and cast and just built off that instead of going for the crappy soft reboot angle. have the mcp involved like it was teased in the promotional stuff after legacy! have sam and quorra and alan et al be the people trying to stop the dillingers -- the ones we saw in the last goddamn movie, not some new randos! bring tron back as the program they need to save the day! throw in a little angst about how after legacy he doesn't see himself as the Hero anymore and make the 'program learning about being human' angle about tron remembering that that it's not always programming, you have a choice to stand up and be the hero! the pieces were all there and I hate that they're throwing them away in favor of whatever the fuck they're building instead
