those kinktober rules banning dubcon or noncon fic but allowing cnc roleplay so long as the kink negotiation and aftercare is on screen is so funny to me. cnc roleplay but i morally disagree with noncon so we roleplay two people discussing and having cnc roleplay but within that roleplay of the roleplay we have to include a kink negotiation and discussion but to not be immoral there has to be discussion of the kink within the roleplay of the roleplay of the roleplay but in order to keep that above board we have to

To be fair, I don't think it was even meant to be that hidden for the players or for the WoL to catch on, it was just the lack of acknowledgement meant to keep you wondering if this was OUR G'raha or was there something else going on, which was the far more interesting point.

So with that still in mind, I think it is still a spoiler to just tell people they are one and the same because it then takes away the little bits of doubt that are woven into the story .

I know the identity the Crystal Exarch is like, the worst kept spoiler in FFXIV against some stiff competition, but WAS it a surprise for any of you out there? Or something that you figured out on the way, even?

Consider: Where Thancred was during the Bloody Banquet? Out on a balcony trying to woo another maiden. Consider the peeks we see of Thancred throughout Post-ARR. Recovering from Lahabrea's possession and promising to do better but always falling back into his old ways or perhaps using that to cope with his mistakes of ARR. Yes, we see him in the middle of a spat with several women arguing over him, flirting with F'lhaminn, and trying to out drink Moenbryda. He is not focused, he is not on his A game, he isn't paying attention to what goes on around him. Allowing Ilberd and Teledji's coup to go unnoticed save for by Riol, who starts picking up threads of it when its too late. And then, the Bloody Banquet happens. Thancred and Y'shtola are sucked into the Flow spell. He loses his aetheric powers and sight in his eye for time. And Minfilia is gone. Forever. And from that point on, he never shifts focus until Shadowbringers. Where he is holding onto Ryne so hard, he doesn't see how it is hurting her.

Trying to Debunk Things the FFXIV Fandom Keeps Making Up About Lyse Hext

I’ve been playing FFXIV for a few years now. It was my first time every playing a Final Fantasy game, and I was nervous I wouldn’t be any good at it. But FFXIV has been a huge comfort and highlight in my life. It’s gotten me through some very tough times and has really inspired me creatively. Not to mention I’ve met some really great people through the game, and that the community has so many nice and talented people.

But just like any other fandom, things are far from always perfect. There are fans who engage in offensive and gross behavior, fans who are toxic about how to best play - there are plenty of issues this fandom has that most of us are already aware of. But one thing that I think about a lot - although it’s far from the only thing - is the strange amount of malice certain fans display when talking about the character Lyse Hext.

personally of the opinion that the wol didnt really react that strongly to the horrors of solution nine because mentally they were like, eh. it beats eulmore.

Personally I like the in-universe versatility of various disciplines that is implied by the Scions' flexible roles and I don't really care that it's not born out in our gameplay in the same way. I like that Red Mage Alisaie can be the party's healer if needed. I like the Exarch being an all-rounder because of the extent of his experience and magical abilities. I like that Arcanist Urianger can be a DPS or a healer (he's best known for his unique carbuncle but he wears healer gear in the Heavensward patches). I like that in-universe the hard boundaries of various disciplines can blur a bit, especially those like like Red Magic which in the lore are meant to be a blend of two schools. It's neat, it feels more realistic, and it leaves open a lot of fun possibilities for headcanons.

I think it's kind of neat that Elidibus calls Urianger "Archon" rather than his name. He does the same when he tries to speak with Minfilia in the Waking Sands, calling her "Antecedent." By the standards of the Ancients, calling them by their titles is the polite thing to do, as he doesn't know them personally but wants to have a good working relationship with them, just as his own colleagues call him Elidibus and not Themis. It might sound stiff and cold to our ear, but to him, he's addressing them with courtesy and respect.

i was just thinking "why the hell does sharlayan still have a nobility and for-profit private schools, aren't they meant to be more equitable than that" and then ohhhh wait sharlayan literally exists as a vault of knowledge and innovation that they will deign to hand out to the rest of the world when they see fit, will send assassins and mercenaries after those attempting to share this knowledge without permission (life-saving medical knowledge, even!), and has a special class of laborers devoted to traveling to foreign lands and extracting unique resources for sharlayan's use and study. their society is a 1% that has a 0.001% within it. duhhh
