Kai's relationship with the other ninja has more basis of being romantic than with Skylor

things I want more in media: touch-starved characters who are uncomfortable with touch at first but upon realizing that they are, in fact, touch starved, they start returning the affection in tenfold and start to actively miss the constant touch when they are separated for however long it is.

It’s feeling sad about Usopp’s untouched childhood trauma time.

Like how reason he lies is probably because he’s worried people will leave once they know the real him? And that’s why he was so surprised that the others wanted him to go with them. That thought never crossed his mind because even though he did this amazing stunt with them he still thinks they wouldn’t want him. And a few days after he joins he ramps up on the liar persona probably as a defense mechanism against them chucking him overboard when he inevitably realize he isn’t worth it.

And when Nami leaves and takes their boat and taking on her own persona of being a cold hearted liar he’s really angry. Is it because his glaring abandonment issues came into play? He finally had people who didn’t die or leave (his parents) or people who turned on him the moment they thought he made a ‘lie’ (which was actually the truth) that they didn’t like. (The villagers, Kaya, the kids.) And then one of them turns on him and runs. He’s probably feeling a little betrayed and also like “It was too good to be true I shouldn’t have let my guard down.”

It’s really interesting that Water 7 wasn’t the only time his issues were put on blast and early Usopp has a lot of moments when you look back at them.

Does anyone happen to know any “Watching Memories” One Piece fics that isn’t just the Strawhats going through Luffy’s memories? As much as I love Luffy literally every memory fic is just about his memories and a lot of them antagonize Usopp quite a bit during the Water 7 chapters,,,even if not on purpose

So my friend and I were talking and she got me sucked into Poly Bakusquad (minus Jirou she’s dating Momo) and now I’m obsessed. But I’m an Iida stan, first and foremost.

So my dumbass listened to Little Miss Perfect and it reminds me of Iida a little bit so then I got sucked into the idea of Poly Bakusquad + Iida as a ship.

Like they need Iida to help them with study groups but eventually they start inviting him to hangouts as well and they all fall in love with each other and Iida has a pan panic because he’s not only in love with 5 other people but most of those people are guys. He starts worrying about his reputation and all that but eventually decides to put his own happiness first and ask them all out.

I did this mostly because I already ship like half the Bakusquad with Iida and Mina is my wife and I couldn’t just leave Kiri out (tho I am discovering KiriIida is a thing, not yet sure about IidaMina) and it’s just,,,,,,so cute??

I've been thinking of the scene in season 11 where Kai gets his powers back and no one's really talked about what went down from what I've seen

Like he sees the others getting helplessly cornered by the ice dragon just like when the village was frozen and he starts mumbling "No...no..." And then screams "NO MORE!" and like ow?? In the context that he feels useless without his powers as stated in the fire chapter, it really hits hard. He strains himself to make fire for the villagers, and when the ice dragon froze the village he looked so damn numb, he failed to protect the village and he thought they were all dead. It also hurts in the context that he got his full potential from realizing that he was a protector but without his fire, how could he protect? And considering how much he's seen the others die or almost die, he feels he's failed in his one job.

So he sees his family cornered and decides he isn't going to watch anyone else die, not while he's still standing, and unlocks his fire again.

The scene is intensely powerful with all of the past seasons in context and god i just love Kai so much.

Now i'm being a little petty here but as phenomenal that scene was i saw barely any Kai fics surrounding what happened in season 11. There's a few good ones but people wanted to focus on Lloyd and Ice Emperor Zane which is valid but Kai also had so much (he watched a whole village 'die' and couldn't do anything about it) and no one wanted to explore the aftermath of what that would have been like!

God I’m starving for some baby Usopp and Banchina content or just Usopp and Banchina is general

Like we don’t know how young Usopp was when Yasopp left or how young he was when his mom died but imagine Banchina helping Usopp with his slingshots and maybe gardening and telling stories

After she gets sick she mostly resorts to reading and telling him stories. And when she gets too sick for that, Usopp picks it up and cheers her up in return. I don’t remember where I saw this but I saw a headcanon that Usopp isn’t scared of spiders because him mom was and he wanted to protect her which is adorable

Imagine Usopp coming home in tears to his mommy because the kids made of his nose or that his dad was a pirate, and Banchina reassures him that he’s perfect the way he is and he’s her little warrior

This is already canon basically but the reason Usopp wanted to get to sea so bad wasn’t just to see his dad, but because he didn’t want to let down his promise to his mom of being a brave warrior like his dad

Imagine Usopp having a lot more characteristics of his mom than just her nose (long hair, big ol pretty eyes, probably the lashes too) and personality wise as well. Usopp can be incredibly kind and friendly especially to kids and I can imagine that he gets it from his mom, and is good with kids because he wants to be as good as his mom was with him. I imagine that Banchina is also pretty stubborn, and it rubs off on Usopp because that boi is stubborn as heck. I also headcanon that Banchina liked music, and Usopp got his start on tinkering by fixing her old music box all the time.

He’s always compared to his dad but I want maybe a moment where Usopp declares that he’s his mom’s son too

Also please i want a reunion with the straw hats and their dead loved ones and to have Usopp ask his mom if she’s proud and she holds his face and bumps their noses together and states that she was always proud of him, even before he set off to sea

This here is Iida Tenya and my OC twin for him, Thalia. Both Thalia and Tenya strive to be heroes, but when the pressure was on, Thalia could feel herself being pulled to the dark side. Thalia “disappeared” and showed up years later with the League Of Villians.

This captures the moment where Tenya can see his twin spiraling and tries to pull her back on the good side, but she’s in too deep to go back now.
