when im sitting down at the end of the day, it feels like i’ve gone through my day and done absolutely nothing, but in retrospect, i’ve actually done quite a lot, i’m just completing the tasks that i currently have the ability to do.

and that’s okay! i may not be able to work but i can maintain my house and cook, and clean and also run errands while i’m getting better at maintenance my energy for longer periods of time.

i have to remember to give myself grace. i’ve been dealt a pretty shitty hand in life and for where i’m at developmentally for my age, i’m doing more than alright.

teaching my straight white male friend that while, yes, social activism can be uncomfortable to talk about and exauhsting to constantly be thinking about, that’s why we have groups and community to lean on, so when we start feeling that fatigue, we can step back and our peers can step up.

i’ve been slowly been teaching him about necessary uncomfortableness and why it’s important to educate, listen, communicate, and talk about our current world

i also explained to him that he can use his white male privilege to reach a broader range of people that i or my peers might not be able to reach because of our gender, color of our skin, or sexuality

he then got excited because he could be my ‘sleeper agent’

it’s that easy yall; community is one of the largest forms of resistance and your white male friends are gonna be your most viable resources !!
