“i almost forgot that your mom was a teacher here until i remembered i was in her class.” the boy said with a laugh as he turned his attention to rumor. they’d been hanging out quite a bit lately, even going out on a picnic date. honestly kieran didn’t even think she’d accept let alone continue to want to be around him, now he’d be around her mother as well. did she know about their date? was she going to kill him? maybe she’d like him instead, usually moms had the tendency to like him but they were never actively grading him. “did you not want your mother teaching you or was transfiguration the problem? he teased.

rumor turns her attention from the book in her lap to the boy next to her at the sound of kieran’s voice, lips curling into an amused smile. “i do, too, sometimes. you would think i’d be used to it but every time i see her in a corridor i’m surprised.” she does make a mental note that kieran is in her class again this year, and though rumor isn’t she doesn’t doubt that she’ll hear about it from her mother, soon. if her memory serves her correctly, she’s not the only walsh with a fondness for kieran. “oh, i don’t know. she’s a great teacher, i just already spend so much time with her and watching her in action, i’ve got her transfiguration down, you know?” and then, quieter like it’s a secret, “and between you and me, i think roman has always been her favorite.”

𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: rumor’s dorm

the blonde somehow made her way into the ravenclaw’s dormitory with no problem. she had a blanket wrapped around her as she entered. rumor was so right ? it was freezing up there, but anything was better than the warmth of her own dorm. her first instinct was to just open the door, but callie stopped herself when she realized that rumor shared a room with a few others. callie placed a few soft knocks on the door before stepping back to wait for rumor to answer the door. ‘ hey hey hey ! ’, callie did a little dance once the door opened.

“hey, welcome to the party!” rumor grinned, throwing open the door when she heard callie knocking. it wasn’t truly a new year at hogwarts without at least one sleepover, after all. “no professors lurking for night rounds yet, huh?” technically, as a prefect those night rounds here sometimes her duty, but thankfully tonight wasn’t one of those nights. turning around, she plucked her wand from her bedside table and, with a quick swish, made her bed grow large enough to fit the two of them. having a transfiguration professor for a mother did have some perks.

“oh, definitely roman. raph is still too young to even think about him getting married, and river and i are both lost causes.”
