Wanna know something?
I’m sure many of my fellow runners out there can relate to this but- WHY does FloTrack think they have the right to charge absurd amounts money to allow us to watch our own sport?! The Dubai marathon was on tonight and I kept the link to the live stream (from a sports streaming website) on my laptop until it was time to watch it. Well, when I clicked on the link come time, I learned that FloTrack had REMOVED the stream from the US and Canada, and aired it live on their website- for only the prestigious FloPro members, who somehow have the $20 a month to afford it. I should NOT have to pay to watch my sport that already gets NO attention or viewing opportunities on television. Other sports don’t make their viewers go through these payments and are shown 24/7. If FloTrack really cared about the growth of track and field/xc/road racing...RUNNING...they would take away these ridiculous prices and let those who love watching the sport enjoy it. I am hereby boycotting FloTrack, and would love if us runners could start a little movement and see what happens.

trail miles make me so hungry. gimme all the peanut butter and all the bananas. // pb&j sandwiches are a gift. i ate them pretty much everyday for school lunches as a kid (because before i was a vegan who will eat anything that’s vegan, i was the pickiest little vegetarian to ever live) and while i’ve cut back because i like more than 3 foods now, i don’t think i’ll ever tire of them

Normal runs do feel good if you’re in shape. But a hard workout or a fast run, that will always hurt. I used to think that at one point a switch would flip, and I’d feel smooth and great on everything. Feel how Dibaba looks… effortless. I learned that if I was feeling that way in workouts, it probably meant I wasn’t trying hard enough. Improvement comes when it hurts. I’ve learned to chase after that feeling. Even if it can be a bit scary in the moment.

“Whatever I am to these girls, I’m happy to be. The bun is something that, if your hair is long enough, anyone can do. That’s a connection to make with young runners. Rather than tweeting out, ‘Just ran 100 miles this week’ - not healthy for them, anyway - why not a picture of my hair?” -Alexi Pappas
