Reading The Way of Kings was funny experience. I got the book recommended by two very different friends. Both of them talked to me for hours about it(each description sounded like different book) .Now reading it was just realizing: "that character is for sure favorite of my friend" "I am sure that my other friend hated this scene" "I have to introduce my friends to each other, so we can argue about ...all of it" etc....

there's a very particular category of cosmere characters whose genre is not, say, scifi or epic fantasy, but rather doctor who. the genre they're supposed to be in is doctor who. sigzil was just unlucky enough to end up in an epic fantasy story rather than a series of doctor who

Here's how my "Szeth is a voidbringer" theory can still win. Lirin's letting his own curiosity get the better of him here, but Szeth does claim that he'll do anything, so it's not that unreasonable to want some demonstrations. There are plenty of things that he can't do, but he'd be good at most common household tasks. I expect he's quite proficient at cooking, cleaning, and mending, for instance, because those are the sorts of things that would be asked of him most often. Lirin is going to be a lot better at sewing than Szeth though. Kaladin as well, probably.

Never not thinking about how during the end of twok, kaladin repeatedly makes sure to keep moash with him so I wanted to do a little panel of one of the lines

Not enough kaladin ship fics include how really annoying long unruly curly hair can be. Kaladin is taller that 95% of the people he's kissing and so is tilting his head down, someone needs to be assigning a hand to "keep the hair out of our mouths" duty or that hair is going to be in their mouths

Introducing Tien's cryptic, Semblance (name democratically chosen by The People). I think a spren who Talks Like That would be the perfect companion for an illiterate 13-year old from a rural village.

I was planning to wait for a bit before making explicit references to Tien's radiance, but I think this comic is necessary. He's been coming off as uncomplicatedly cute and wholesome, and that's not what I want for one of our main characters. He isn't secretly some monster, he doesn't have a deep, repressed trauma, no massive revelations from his past. But at the same time he isn't quite so sunny and innocent as he presents himself. I wouldn't interpret his outlook as insincere, but perhaps it's somewhat exaggerated for the benefit of others. Something to keep in mind.

Szeth attempts to parry, but Tien is persistent. This kid is already starting to wear him down, it's only been one day.

While Kaladin was put off by him (he probably understands what Szeth is, on some deep subconscious level), Tien instantly became attached to Szeth. He has a sense for someone who's lying to themself, and an inclination (not to mention an uncanny ability) to manifest the warmer emotions in those around him.

What if he told himself getting close to the king would make it easier to assassinate him later on, but quickly found himself in over his head? After giving the Kholin boys their canon-compliant sexy times, it was time for Kaladin, but all we get for Kaladin in the way of canon-compliant sexy time is the moment where it's established that he's indeed asexual. 😅 He's also a virgin and that’s a hill I’ll die on. Precisely because he says "I know what's involved" when Syl offers to share the knowledge she gained while peeping on couples in bed. And also because he thought that ardent in OB was thinking of marriage.
