"A meteorologist?" Sabrina said. "Nope! But you know now that you mention it, I should look into getting a second degree in that. That'd be really fun. Get to study tornadoes and hurricanes. Derechos, typhoons.....hail...blizzards- Have you ever watched any storm chasers on youtube? Gosh I would LOVE to spend a tornado season out west doing that."
Sabrina grinned.
"Buuuuuuuut I'm sorry for running into you. And a storm is coming, so I guess it's good I was here to warn you----have I seen you around? I can't remember if we've met."
Namaari was taken aback by the comment made by the other. It wasn’t wild or bizarre necessarily, just out of place. She looked up at the clouds, raising an eyebrow.
“Huh… I wouldn’t have known. Are you some sort of… cloud studier?”

"Oh phew, thank god." Sabrina said, with a relieved exhale. "A napping turtle is far less of a problem! If it had been a snapping turtle....there could be a lot of danger!"
Sabrina smiled at him.
"Oh I wish I could have, I love turtles so much. I have one you know! He only has three legs." She said, as she always found a way to proudly bring up.
"Do you turtle watch a lot? Cause I do!" Sabrina paused. "Well I guess I have to for my job, professionally. But I do it outside of work too! Like on my own."
"No, no, not a snapping turtle!" Terence interjected, waving his hands emphatically in the air, a small, exasperated laugh bubbling up. "A napping turtle!" He shook his head, still smiling at the memory. "It was honestly adorable, Sabrina, you should have seen it. It was just... tucked away, fast asleep, with its cute little mouth all puckered up and its cute little eyes gently closed. Every now and then, its tiny eyelids would twitch, like it was dreaming of something delightful. I almost didn't want to move, just watch it slumber."

Sabrina continued to carefully scan the grass and foliage before her, looking for the turtle.
"Oooh that sounds fun! I love a good documentary. I was watching one on the top ten most dangerous aquatic animals last night. It was fascinating. Do you watch a lot of documentaries?"
She looked back up towards the woman.
"Usually they're between just under one foot to a little under two feet. But they can be real heave. Like forty five pounds. And then there are types that can get even bigger, one is like one hundred years old and weighs like two hundred and something pounds. But that type wouldn't be here."
"Oh, I'm quite certain," she affirmed, a soft, almost dreamy smile gracing her lips as her gaze met Sabrina's. "Rose and I were just watching a rather fascinating documentary about snapping turtles the other day. It was quite in-depth, actually. That's how I knew the answer." Her eyes softened further, a faraway look entering them as she clearly reminisced about the quiet, comfortable evenings she and Rose had been spending together lately. She pictured them curled up on the sofa, a warm blanket draped over their laps, utterly absorbed in the wonders of the natural world unfolding on the screen. A comfortable, almost nostalgic silence settled between them for a few beats, a shared understanding passing between the two women. Then, her brow furrowing in a thoughtful frown, she broke the quiet. "How big can they actually become again? I remember them saying something about it, but I've completely forgotten that specific detail."

Sabrina continued to search around in the grass.
"Hmmmmm...I guess you can tell if one takes off a finger or two." She said as if it was not something horrifying. Almost like it was more of a quirky behavior than something truly scary. "But they're also usually larger and a darker color than most friendly turtles. Also they're mean."
Sabrina stood up.
"Well if we found it that's where I come in!" Sabrina sang out. "I have the stuff to catch it in my car, then I can take it back to the reserve and figure out what to do from there with Benak! I typically handle aquatics but he's kinda an environmental genius so it helps having him around to. I deal with turtles all the time, even have one as a pet! He only has three legs."
.
"I mean... It was certainly a turtle, I don't know if a snapping one. Though it looked capable of it." Sully checked under another bench, patting on the grass as lightly as he could in case the darn turtle was hiding there. "How do you know a snapping turtle from a regular turtle?" If he had to guess, something about the size or coloring.
Sully stood up and sighed, putting his hands on his hips. "What should we even do when we find it?" he asked. "Take it to the vet? To the pet store? To the zoo?"

Sabrina was making her way around town as per usual. Putting up flyers advertising her swimming lessons alongside more for events at the nature reserve. She also loved being outside, especially during spring. Storm season. She loved watching the clouds and feeling the air, and using that to make predictions on the rain that may come. As a child her parents often had to chastise her for running out during a thunderstorm and standing in the rain, unconcerned with the danger of lightning.
Today it was not raining, but Sabrina felt there was a strong promise of it later on into the night.
Sabrina was watching a cloud formation when Sabrina heard a woman's voice.
"Oh! Of course." Sabrina said, perky if not a bit caught off guard. "And of course, of course!" Sabrina continued, hearing the woman's pitch of the orphanage. "Do you have a pen? And would you be interested in signing mine too? It's about the environment!"
open starter, capping at three (0/3)!
It's been an hour and so far... only two signatures. That was rather disappointing, she had to admit. And with such a cause as well. While it wasn't something that she herself could personally relate to, Jasmine knew that she needed to support and do everything she could to ensure that this cause received the recognition it deserved. So even if she has to wander around the entire town for hours on end, even if it means not taking any breaks, she would do so.
"Hello! May I borrow a moment of your time, please?" The Cave of Wonders had been rather busy that day, she noticed, which was why she decided to take her campaign to the front of the antique store. The semi-heiress smiled warmly before she continued. "I was wondering if you'd be interested in signing this petition for the local orphanage? We're trying to gain a thousand signatures to convince city hall to invest in a new, better program and home to better help our town's orphans and foster kids."

Sabrina unfortunately, was a known head in the clouds type of girl.
Literally. She could not take her eyes off the clouds above her. They were dark, and rotating just a bit. She took in what all of that could mean as she felt the air increasingly become heavy.
Suddenly really heavy. She had walked right into someone.
"Oh no no, that's my fault really," Sabrina replied, "Sorry, it's just, those are storm clouds." She said, pointing up at the threatening sky.
Namaari admittedly wasn't watching where she was going, which was weird because normally her sense of spatial awareness was well beyond the average persons. But today she felt... distracted. Something just felt wrong. She was planning on heading to the gym to get some stress out, when she bumped into someone. "Fuck, I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going."

Sabrina continued looking around the park trees. She got down on her hands and knees to look around some rocks, and under some benches.
"Are you sure it was a snapping turtle? They normally wouldn't come all the way out there, with all the people and all---but if one is here It'd definitely be good to find it!"

Sabrina smiled sweetly.
"Aww, thank you!! But skating isn't too hard to learn! I mean the level I can do it at takes a lot of work, doing all the jumps and spins, but just getting on the ice you can pick up pretty quick I think! You should come with me sometime, I'll help you!"
She nodded along to his response.
"Kids sure do love their farm animals. And also need to be reminded of what not to do too. Been working on my "not all turtles are friendly turtles and we shouldn't treat the ones we find outside as pets" lessons, since you know snapping turtles are everywhere. Although it's always a bit hard when you're the one who has a pet turtle you found outside."
"Well, I ain't been hit wit' anythin' hard enough t' knock me down yet, but there's a first time for everythin'!" Colt said, though he really hoped that would be something he could avoid. Ice skating was something he had never really been able to pull off, so he was definitely impressed that she had trained for figure skating. "Oh boy, if I really had a go at that, I guarantee I'd spend th' whole time fallin' on my butt. I was never all that good at ice skatin', so you got my admiration for learnin' how t' do it righ'."
If she thought there would really be a call for him giving a talk, he would not be opposed. If no one else there had the same sort of experience, it might be nice for him to share. "Well if you think people'd like it, sure! Kids do always seem t' like farm animals. I know I sure did, which made it even better growin' up on one. Could always mention th' things not t' do too, like t' make sure you're givin' cows a wide berth when they've gotta, er, fertlize th' soil. Made th' mistake not t' do that once an' I definitely regretted it."

Sabrina grinned in response and giggled.
"And....if we wait until everyone's had a few drinks....maybe people will join in!! They'll at least certainly remember us as far more amazing than we already are!"
Sabrina put a hand daintily in front of her face to hide her open mouthed giggle at the suggestion.
"It really is a classic," Sabrina nodded enthusiastically. "If you start playing it I'll start singing it. If I don't sound good you can just go and do me a solid and play louder!"

"I know we just got here, but I am ready and willingly to pull out the uke at a moment's notice," Flash started, tapping his back where the ukulele sat. "This whole vibe is begging for an acoustic cover of Hilary Duff's seminal classic 'This Is What Dreams Are Made Of'." @happieststarters

"Ouch! That's a whole lot of things to get hit with and all. You look really strong though, see if I got hit by that stuff I'd probably go flying, you'd catch me on the floor." Sabrina laughed.
"Although I've taken some falls too on the ice, especially as a kid. You don't get like, really really good at figure skating and competing and all without smacking your butt...and your wrists....and your head...on the ice now and then. And of course at the reserve I've had a few close calls with some snapping turtles and water snakes, but that's on me, they're just cute little babies, they caught me slipping."
She beamed as he spoke more of animals. Sabrina was always so excited to hear more about anything people knew about, but especially things related to nature.
"Oh people would love to hear it! Especially the kids! Neither Benak or I really focus in farm animals so it'd be a nice addition whenever you'd like to guest!"
He had not expected her to ask that, but Colt had no qualms about answering. Giving a chuckle, he said, "Oh plenty. In th' garage, I've bumped into th' undersides o' cars an' plenty o' hard, metal objects. An' on th' farm, I ran into my share o' beams in th' barn, an' whacked into th' tractors tons o' times. You'd think I'd be a li'l more careful by now!" Him, teach about animals? Colt looked surprised at first, but was it really all that crazy of an idea? He did know plenty about them. "Gee, you think people would really wanna listen t' a bumpkin like me ramble 'bout animals? I mean, I'd love t' talk 'bout 'em if there'd be that much o' a call for it. I jus' wouldn't wanna take any time away from real experts."

Sabrina paused at Tina's observation, and tilted her head to the side a bit. She looked back at her with wide eyes.
"You know! That is true!" Sabrina said, "Never thought about it that way!!"
Sabrina frowned.
"Minnie's gonna be so mad at me if she sees I've littered the entire town square though."
Tina was helpful… when she wanted to be. And right now, after being hit in the face with a shit ton of Wildlife flyers while trying to enjoy her coffee and a walk, she did not want to be helpful.
She swatted them away, about to throw out some profanities, when she realised this was all Sabrina's doing. "The wind is doing your free marketing, just leave them," Tina said, thinking herself quite clever for the comment. The flyers were long gone now, billowing down the road before she could even consider being helpful or not.

Sabrina looked up at him when he handed her the papers.
"What kinds of things?" She asked with curious eyes, "That have smacked you?"
She tried to make the pile in her hands more neatly stacked together, however the wind continued to make that quite the challenge.
"It's been great so far! And It's all kinda of different animals, it's been such a neat event! I bet you could help teach some lessons on farm animals then, next time we have some of those?" Sabrina inquired. "That's so cool that you were raised on one!"
"Ah, no worries. Everyone gets days like that." Colt certainly had his share of days where he was not exactly on point. "'Sides, I been smacked wit' much more substantial things than a piece o' paper, so there's no harm done." He bent down to pick up some more of the papers, then glanced at one properly before handing it back to her.
"Oh, that sounds pretty nifty! I ain't had a chance t' go t' th' Nature Reserve yet, but I do know a thing or two 'bout animals since I grew up on a farm. Guessin' these ones are more o' th' wild variety, though?" Either way, he certainly would have to make a point to go there sometime, especially after hearing what she was describing.
