after the illustrator and image trace session I created this piece which involved a car that I had image traced with the 6 colours preset. I attempted to go for a pop art Andy Warhol style piece using 2x2 pattern with 4 different colours.
I genuinely like using the image trace function due to the ease of creating vectorised images in an instant.
I decided to leave parts of the shadows and background to allow the car to be placed within the background itself.
I feel as though I will definitely use this technique if I need to create a vectorised version of an image.

This is a developed piece created after the still life workshop. To develop this piece I scanned in the image and then redrew the objects using a graphics tablet. I did this to change the style of the original piece. the original piece only used grey markers. In order to this however I used different colours. I added highlights to each box to add an almost cartoon effect. This completely changed the aesthetic of the original piece.
If I was to take this further I would definatly animate the boxes uses after effects. I enjoyed this piece however due to the colours and the ease of blurring and merging colours.

During this workshop we used the 3D camera tool within after effects to create depth of field for a topic of our choice using words and sentences. In order to create this we first wrote quotes from a topic of our choice, personally, I chose quotes from Game Of Thrones.
We then scanned these quotes onto photoshop. Then we bumped up the contrast and saturation levels to create the most contrast between the blacks and whites. Each quote had its own layer.
We then placed these layers onto aftereffects where we removed the backgrounds and switched on the 3D camera to allow the movement of each layer on the X and Y axis.

During this workshop we created a scene from outer space using adobe Aftereffects.
Tumblr media
We first created the pieces which we would use to animate the scene. I created a range of illustrated moons using the shape tool and the shape builder tool. I used a flat style to keep up with the flat style of working.
Tumblr media
We also created a layer of “stars”, these were originally black dots however I inverted the colours using a tool on aftereffects which allowed me to turn the black dots, white.

Today we learnt certain techniques in illustrator which can be used to create different types of art. We used the shapes tool to create 2 different shapes which were then placed on top of each other. Then, using the pathfinder tool we cut the top shape into the lower one.
We also used the adobe scan app to generate textures and strokes using anything around us and our phone cameras. The pattern in the shape above was made from an ink stain on the table.
Tumblr media
Following on from this, we used the image trace tool to create oner piece of work, this tool automatically vectorises an image and also has different options which can be used to decrease the number of vectors and vice versa.

Because the background was also vectorised it was very easy to select and delete it. I then placed text in the background of the meerkats, to create a mockup poster.
Tumblr media
Finally I changed the colour of the text to allow it to fit into the poster. I rotated the M and the S to add to the edgy aesthetic.

here are a few scans from the still life workshop which we did today. the workshop consisted of drawing objects on 3 different tables. The first table had cardboard boxes, the second had sculptures and the third had everyday items including vintage cases.
Amongst these items there was also different medias such as markers, pencils and coloured pastels. On the cardboard box table there was comic markers in a greyscale pigment. I used these markers loosely to create shadows and highlights. this gave the boxes a very illustrative look.
The pastels were a bit too bright for my liking however I attempted to create shadows and highlights using the pressure used to create each piece.
when drawing with the pencils I used an array of different types such as HBs to 5Bs. This was done to create shadows to show depth.

during this workshop we attempted urban sketching around the University. we split into teams, my group started at the oastler building where we sketched from several perspectives. we then moved onto the Atrium where again we sketched different perspectives.
I enjoyed this session due to the fact that we had free reign over our designs and drawings.

Furthermore during this workshop we learnt how to mask certain areas to cut them out of the desired location. This was done using clipping masks and brushes to cut or keep certain areas.
I then adjusted the tones/colours to allow the image to pop. Then using the gradient tool I changed the background to create a sombre feel.

During this workshop we learnt how to create this wave effect using both Photoshop and Illustrator. First we made a pattern on Illustrator using the pen tool. Then, using photoshop the wave was transformed using certain settings to create this wave illustration.
An effects layer was used along with a gradient overlay and outer glow to allow the fuzzy, grainy effect on the pattern itself.
I then duplicated the pattern several times whilst changing the blend options to allow more detail to form in the piece itself.

The outcome a Cinema4D workshop. firstly we generated 1 cube from which we generated an animation using the scale, rotation and key frame tools. I added lighting as well as colour to allow a more aesthetic piece.

during this workshop we created an animation using the kinetic type technique. The theme which we had to follow was a certain font which we had to animate. The font which I chose to animate was the Arial font.
If I was to do this again I would definitely animate it a lot better using more keyframes and camera movements.

The first 4 frames which will form part of my kinetic type experiment on the font Arial. These were created on Adobe Illustrator and will be imported into aftereffects along with other frames to create a 10 second video.

During this workshop we looked at a very iconic piece of work which involved a room filled with materialistic object such as clothes TVs celebs etc. I decided to create this as my design.

Today we delved into keyframes and how to use them. We learnt how to animate our illustrator documents. I illustrated and animated a boxer throwing punches. By the end of the animation the boxer crumbles. I then added a paper texture over both the background and the figure itself. This allowed the finished animation to have a complete look.
