Soooo. I made a story about this on my insta but I'd like to post it here as well 😳

About a week ago I started to read Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree and damn I like that book so much! Not to mention the main character Viv who is a female orc, retiring from battles and opening a café shop. The story is really cozy and the characters are lovable, also there is a sapphic line between Viv and her assistant Tandri 🤭

But, what I actually wanted to point out is that

VIV IS SO MUCH LIKE A SOFT SABINE!!

Like, if Sabine would retire from battles I can imagine her starting her own business.

But it's not just that. Their design is also so similar! Just look at these pictures:

I immediately noticed the similarity. Also here Viv has a west too just like Sabine:

Seeing this (official) artwork made me want to make Sabine wear arm protection too. Not because she'd need it, nah. But she'd look totally badass 😎

Anyway, if you're into cozy, fantasy sapphic literature I totally recommend this book! A soothe for the soul 😊

A little bit of rant comes,

I've been feeling so miserable about not having a relationship it legit makes me feel physical chest pain. But whenever I see a woman who I find attractive I start to panic when I imagine being in a relationship, kissing etc.

Despite having some experience in the topic as I had an almost year long relationship with a girl ages ago (I was 19 that time, now I'm 32)

One of my headcanons about Sabine is that, when in Starshine Legacy she spoke about her parents, she actually lied. Since I consider all the Dark Riders as extraterrestrial beings, ever since I was a kid I always thought she just put up a story about her "parents". That she's able to control others' mind she used her magic and made people believe what she said was true.

Thus, when in Star Academy Herman mentioned she went to a tropical island with her family, she actually didn't. That's when she went through her transformation and became the tall, muscular and intimidating strong woman she is now.

This is a feature of the Dark Riders I've been always wanted to see more, to learn more about, it's an absolute craving for me.

Also I just can't help but feel sorry for them. Being away so far from their home, and they can't even be their through selves... They must be in a lot of heartache, I just wanna hug them.

As someone who is still terrified regarding her OCs and oc x canon writing, I have this advice, if I may.

There will always be people who are unhappy with your writing. Some just do it to be assholes, some have their various reasons, but my point is this.

Fuck them. Write your stories. If you worry about comments, see if there is a way to moderate them.

I know on Ao3, you can set it to where you have to approve a comment before it appears on your fic. That way, if you aren't comfortable with the comment just say no to it and delete it.

Take breaks as you need. Find others who do OCs and oc x canon. Even if they aren't in the same fandom, having others to talk to can be a huge thing.

That said, I offer myself as a person to talk to. I'm mostly Legend of Zelda or Elden Ring, but I'm also in the Star Stable fandom. I have my own OC that I ship with Sabine as well, named Shilo. I haven't done much yet, just joined the fandom in February, but I'm here.

I got a lot of encouraging words on my post and I just wanted to say THANK YOU to you all!! You have no idea how much it means and after a long time I got some smile on my face, too :)

I might as well give it a try and start to write the story. I've created a few drafts already but I need to really sort it out 😂

I've been thinking of actually starting to write my fanfic about my OC Saga, I have a mostly complete story of her in my mind but haven't found the energy to create something readable of it.

However.

As I've been looking around in the community I actually start to feel terrified to write and post it.

I've seen that a lot of people don't like the idea of the Dark Riders being non-humans. I heard people don't like how they were portrayed in the books either, e.g. when Sabine's real claws appeared once.

But. The thing is that those books were based on SSL. Where the Dark Riders aren't humans, even Fripp tells us (Alex actually). And my fanfic is also based on SSL (and also on sso), thus in my story they aren't humans, they're just able to disguise themselves as humans.

I originated them from the Dark Star (based on the books). In my story it's a planet connected by magic to Earth, a place where people's negative energy gets channeled to. Like, when people's souls are suffering from something, their anguish gets channeled to the Dark Star, where then these energies take form of predator looking creatures - that's how the Dark Riders are born, along with Garnok. Then Fripp comes, they get prisoned in the spaceship, they crash by Jorvik etc...

Long story short. I'm just scared. I was happy to build up a story around my OC who connects the Soul Riders and Dark Riders in unison and brings balance to the island. It even helped my depression. Just thinking of trying to actually write down the story gave me some excitement. But now I'm just scared someone would get mad at me and come at me... At this point I wouldn't be able to handle it mentally.

I just don't know what to do.
