“Do you know a guy named Eric McFadden?” She asks. Calum thinks and he looks down at his hands. “Does he do any sports?”

 

“No, he’s a biology major.”


“Phelia,” Calum mutters, “how the fuck am I supposed to know a biology major?” Calum laughs on the other side of the line before attaching the bottle to his lips again to drink some more water. “I thought you knew everyone,” Ophelia admits, “But don’t you study something that’s like biology or something?” Calum pushes his lips together trying not to spill his water because of his laugh. “Babygirl, I don’t study biology,” Calum answers, “I study the science of exercises.”

 

Ophelia pauses for a second.

 

“That’s a thing?”

 

Hearing her so unknowing and hearing her voice sound so innocent is sending Calum to another world, he wishes he could’ve been there with her. He’d much rather have this conversation in bed, covered in sheets, his fingertips tracing circles on her hips while he’s staring at her most beautiful body while he explains what it means. He can show her what each exercise does and he can show her what each muscle does in physical appearance.

 

“Of course that’s a thing,” Calum says, smiling softly, “I wish I could show you.” Ophelia smiles warmly and she breathes out. “You can show me after practice tonight,” she suggests, “I was planning on getting dinner at your place tonight.” Calum smirks and he raises his eyebrows. “So you’re inviting yourself now?” He teases. Ophelia furrows her eyebrows and her heart rate speeds up. “Yes,” she says boldly. Calum smirks and he chews on the inside of his lip.

 

“You’re always welcome and you know that,” Calum assures her, his voice is soft and Ophelia knows he means that. “I know,” she says, pushing open the door to the building, “I wish I could keep talking to you, but I have my meeting now. I’ll talk to you later.”

 

“Good luck and I’ll see you tonight,” Calum says and he hangs up the phone. He puts it back in his bag before he goes back to the court.
