So? How does it feel?
Well, Saira's been semi-officially publicly on her own for one night and for most of it she's wondered if she made a big mistake and if she should go back running to her parents. It would be easy, and she'd probably be much more successful following their advice even if she hated what they had to say. It also felt clear to her that she wasn't her cousin. Avi had been doing this and much more for months, and she was barely making through a few hours.
She closed the door behind her making sure she wasn't being followed, and tiptoed towards her cousin, silent. Then she hugged him tight, hoping that would express everything she couldn't.
"Does it get easy?"
who: @sairaisms where: conclave gala, dinner time
When everyone's busy stuffing their faces, Avi slips into a small conference room off to the side. A glance to the clock on the wall, he's right on time. In the quiet, he takes a moment to compose himself. The night's been a lot so far, and it's not even time for the meeting yet, and god does he dread that.
But Saira is stag, and Avi worries (not that he'd admit it).
When the door opens, he holds his tongue til he sees that lehenga flow in. He kinda wonders if she'll let him borrow it sometime. He'll ask later.
"So? How's it feel?" A loaded question, to be sure.

who: open where: the conclave
She walks in like she owns the place, though internally she feels more out of place than she ever has. On any other occasion, Saira would be following her parents closely, engaging in conversation with whatever boring, rich old man they wanted to impress that day, she would then be finally excused and allowed to spend time with Avi or Yasmin until the cycle repeated.
But today she was alone. She had made the decision to leave her family/s pack behind, and since she wasn't ready to make the announcement she joined Harford instead, that meant Saira was a lone wolf for all intents and purposes. It was scary... and thrilling. A smile forced its way into her lips as much as she tried to hold it back.
Saira could feel the many eyes on her. That wasn't new, but she felt different — more exposed maybe. She didn't know most of those people or what they wanted from her, and in that moment she only saw two options: run and hide, or face them head on. She chose the second option. Saira locked eyes to one of the people staring at her and walked straight towards them, "I saw you looking," she spoke with newly developed confidence, "So, are you going to get me a drink or what?"

SAIRA HASSIM — THE CONCLAVE GALA
Saira arrives fashionably late to the gala, not joined by anyone from either Warwick (the pack she's just secretly quit) or Harford (the pack she just secretly joined) and drawing the attention of those who didn't expect to see the youngest Hassim at the Gala. She's used to having eyes on her but not to being alone when that happened. She takes on the attention with a charming smile, fighting the urge to hide behind her cousin @aviofruin. This is her night, and she's gonna make it through without anyone's help.

Name: Saira Hassim Occupation: Personal Shopper Age: 24 Sexuality: Bisexual Species: Werewolf Clan/Pack/Coven?: Harford Hometown: Port Liery Relationship Status: Single Personality Traits: Creative / Charismatic / Spunky Spoiled / Self-Centered / Stubborn
Saira Hassim has always lived a privileged - if incredibly sheltered - life. As the youngest Hassim in Port Liery, she got to enjoy everything that the many decades of labor had produced to her family, without any of the effort. In many ways, it was the perfect life.
That isn't to say she didn't have any responsibilities. Her parents and eldest sister expected her to behave according to her standing; be the perfect daughter, the perfect Warwick werewolf, find the perfect husband, have the perfect smile in every picture. They picked every outfit she wore, every friend she had, every boy she dated, and Saira happily went along with it because, well, what else was there?
It wasn't until her early 20s that Saira started to feel suffocated by her family. The feeling of hollowness grew naturally the more she realized that the life she was living wasn't her own, but the feeling grew exponentially the more time she spent with her cousin, Avi.
For Saira, Avi led the life she could and should have been living, with intrigue, and meaning, and passion. It wasn't too unlike the stories she saw in her favorite movies. Saira decided this is what she wanted for her too.
Asking her family for permission was, perhaps, not the brightest idea. They quickly shut her down and tried to convince her that they knew what was better for her. It would have been easy to accept that, to give in and continue to live the life her parents wanted, but it only made her more sure of her decision.
The first step was to silently quit her pack, avoiding any other Warwick and their meetings and secretly following her cousin to Harford. Finding a job was harder, but at least her last name still held enough influence to get through the door even without any skills or relevant education.
Though she's confident in her decisions, Saira simply lacks the experience and the knowledge on how to live on her own, and is still subconsciously looking for guidance wherever she can find, until the day she finally learns how to live.
CONNECTIONS
WARWICK - Nobody at Warwick knows Saira defected for Hardford and still operate as if she's a part of them. How long can she keep up with the lie? NEW FRIENDS - Saira is starting her life over, including for new friends with whom she actually connects and enjoys spending time with. OH, HONEY - Anyone who's known Saira for years and is aware of the type of girl she is. It's clear for everyone that she doesn't have what it takes to make it on her own and it's a matter of time before she runs back to her family. YASMIN HASSIM (suggested fc: Janhvi Kapoor) - Warwick loyalist and strict older sister who is more preoccupied with Saira's life than her own.
