9 months ago, I had the wonderful opportunity to intern at Cartoon Network, and the show I was assigned to is finally out and streaming on HBO Max!
🎉🎉🎉
I had a lot of fun helping out the team at Tig N' Seek and even more fun watching screenings of episodes! Show creator Myke Chilian always made us interns feel welcome and I can't wait to see more :)
During the program, I was given the opportunity to illustrate a thank you card for HBO Max for picking up the show and here it is!
Stream Tig N' Seek on HBO Max now! 7-day free trial 😉

My Intern Experience at Cartoon Network and How I Got Here!
Friday was my last day as a production intern at Cartoon Network and I wanted to share my journey and some application tips to help those of you who are interested too!
1. Start early.
Begin your internship application process as soon as possible. There were a few instances where I missed out on certain internships as I was unaware of the deadlines. So, I made a spreadsheet to help keep track of all the jobs I was interested in and it helped me to stay on top of all the deadlines. Getting your resume, cover letter and portfolio ready takes more time than you’d think and most major companies have application forms that take time to fill out too.
2. Don’t be discouraged by rejection or lack of news.
I applied for over 40 internship positions at various studios, (roughly 20 during summer and 20 during fall) before I was able to land a job at Cartoon Network. Out of those 40 applications, only three contacted me for further tests or interviews. It can be discouraging to receive email after email saying that the position has been filled, or even no response at all, but don’t stop trying.
3. Try for spring or fall! (That is, if you don’t land a summer internship)
Companies like Cartoon Network, Dreamworks and Nickelodeon offer internship programs all year round, so if you aren’t accepted for summer internships which are usually more competitive due to the larger amount of applicants, try again in spring or fall!
4. Get some feedback on your portfolio.
Ask someone you trust for their advice. Polish your portfolio and resume to the best of your ability and put your best foot forward. :)
I had a wonderful time being an intern here. Our showrunner, Myke, was very welcoming and so was everyone else on the team. We were able to chat with the people working on our show and learn so much about the TV animation pipeline. On top of that, the studio has a very robust internship program and you get to attend useful workshops throughout its duration. At the end of the internship, you even get to pitch your own idea for a show!
Pursuing a career in animation can be difficult at times, which is why I’m so grateful to have been given this opportunity and I’d like to share my experience and hopefully help those of you who are interested too!
Good luck in applying and send me a message if you have any questions!

Couldn’t have done this without the support of my family and friends, thanks for always believing in me. <3

Mock Google Doodle for class.
“Today we celebrate the 107th birthday of Alan Turing. During the Second World War, Turing played a pivotal role in cracking intercepted coded messages that enabled the Allies to defeat the Nazis, and in so doing helped win the war. It has been estimated that his work helped save over 14 million lives.
Despite these accomplishments, he was never fully recognized in his home country during his lifetime, due to his homosexuality, which was then a crime in the UK. Turing was prosecuted in 1952 for homosexual acts, and accepted chemical castration treatment, as an alternative to prison. Turing died in 1954, 16 days before his 42nd birthday, from cyanide poisoning, which was determined by inquest as suicide.”
Read more about him on Wikipedia.
During Pride Month, we remember Alan Turing and the countless other individuals who have been persecuted just for being who they are.

Shock!
Here's a 2-hour test I did for the Wizards of the Coast internship. I didn't make it to the final round, but I’m going to try again next time.
