I can’t believe people who are rewatching FATWS are saying that John Walker wasn’t treated fairly. First of all, nobody got to be friendly to everyone. I notice how people are conflating Sam’s neutral tone (talking to John but not be friendly) as the same as Bucky’s animosity (flat out being hostile). No one ever explains why they had to entertain him and work with him? Seriously, bringing up the man’s self esteem and apparent drive to be as good as Steve Rogers is part of the story. It’s not supposed to be a “poor him, he’s just trying to do his best” but an arrogance that he will be as good as Steve as long as he has the right elements: the shield, the prestige, and the “sidekicks”.
I have yet to see John Walker fans acknowledge that he tried to kill Sam and that it was John that called the police on Bucky when Bucky missed his therapy apt and his interruption of the conversation Sam was having with Karli directly lead to Lamar’s death (nobody brings up Lamar having to tell John to calm down and stop rushing into things several times but I guess that’s expected). Did you guys miss Sam wiping blood off of the shield after John tried to take his head off because John had already used the same move to kill someone else? Also miss me with the terrorist defense, another theme of the show missed because you guys want to babygirl John. BTW: just because we see characters smiling and having a good time at the end of the show does not mean the show has considered the characters cured from depression. What are you guys even talking about? The fundamentals of storytelling and media narratives are lost on some many of you. Some of you took the actual themes of the show and threw them away because it meant accountability on some of your faves (and on certain viewers). If I see that old ass quote from Anthony Mackie about Sam and Bucky from a book, I know what you are. Deliberately using that quote when he has spoken about the relationship in more accessible outlets (not everyone has that book to read the full context of what he said) says a lot.

Racism is a value born from your environment that you need to go through fire to get it out of you. There's no "I've stopped being racist" phase. There's only "I need to get it beaten out of me everyday" phase. It's a process that will never stop, shouldn't stop until we die.

that line in captain america: winter soldier where sam grabs steeve out of the air and pulls him up onto the helicarrier and he's like "you're a lot heavier than you look" and steve's like "uuu well I had a big breakfast :|" that's so cute because. sam made him breakfast
