🐇{STORY} My Livelihood Journey… From Hope to Ashes

The Beginning of the Journey I started with just one rabbit, feeding it from my small university allowance. It was a simple start. Day by day, I cared for it like it was my life’s project… Hoping it would grow into a real source of income one day.

The Fruit of Hard Work With time the rabbits started multiplying. I watched the babies grow day by day. Through hard work, I reached 25 mothers and 5 males — and each week I had rabbits ready for the market. The scale became a symbol of my effort every rabbit weighed with care

The Road to the Market I packed the crates, placed the ready rabbits in the car, and headed to the market. It wasn’t just a dirt road — it was a path from dream to livelihood. Silently, I would whisper: “O Allah, bless them for me.”

The Harvest of a Week’s Work At the market, the sellers knew me well. They would approach me, eager to buy the rabbits. I always dealt with them honestly — not just as a business, but with trust and respect.

The Earnings in My Hands I held the money in my hands, knowing the week’s effort hadn’t gone to waste. It wasn’t just money — it was the story of sleepless nights, cleaning cages, caring for mothers during birth, and giving vaccines.

Household Needs I walked through the market, buying fruits and vegetables — happy to do so. I planned: this is for dinner, this for the kids, and this we’ll save. I wasn’t rich, but I could stand on my feet with dignity.

The Disaster Then came the dark day. A loud explosion — I watched in fear from a distance. My small farm, built brick by brick, was gone. Cages scattered… smoke filled the sky. I stood still, hand on my head — too shocked to scream, cry, or run.

War and the Unknown Now, I sit inside a tent... No sound but my breath, no work, no income — just memories of the project replaying in my mind. Everything has changed. Prices are rising insanely — even the flour I once bought easily is now just a dream.

My friend, I know you are likely overwhelmed from seeing so many appeals.

But from the heart of devastated Gaza, I write to you with tears before my words.

I am Amjad, from Gaza, currently living in a tent in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis. For two years now, I've been without a home- destroyed entirely by the occupation. All I have left is this tent, which does not protect me from the cold of winter or the heat of summer, but it has become my only shelter... for me and what's left of my family.

We're not living... we're only trying to survive death every second. We live under bombing and destruction. Every corner is rubble, every street holds a martyr.

Our children are not just dying... they are torn into pieces by Zionist missiles, shredded before their mother' eyes.

We are burned alive buried beneath the ruins, melting in the fire of injustice, turned into unrecognizable remains.

For more than three months, the border has been closed- no food, no water, no medicine.

Hunger is devouring our bodies, the cold bites, the darkness surrounds us. Prices are insane. Please help us. Don't let us fade away.
