There were no words to describe the way Saul had easily lit Sara's soul on fire. She didn't mean it sexually only, but also, walking around and keeping their relationship a secret, reminded her of the teenage adventures she didn't get to have. Sara grew up with the massive fear of being abandoned, just like it had happened so many times in her past... so, she tried her best to be on her best behavior when it came to her fathers. She was a good student, she learned how to play the piano, she did ballet, she was artistically inclined... so obviously, that left little to no time for playing hooky, for sneaking out of the house and things like that.
If it weren't for Aarti's influence, the petite brunette was certain that she would have been one hell of a boring child and teenager.
With Saul, though? Fuck... she wanted to rip his clothes off and breathe fire into his lungs just like he'd been doing with her. She wanted his body pressed to hers, hips rolling against hers, stealing sounds not many had been able to provoke lately... not that Sara was actually sleeping with many people. Lucky for her, she had her hands full will Saul and Hyun Woo. One represented everything she once had... one, meant the comfort in knowing the other person, the easiness in having someone's body all mapped out, their likes, what made them tick, what had them begging her not to stop. The other, however, represented everything that she had never had: the thrill of the hunt, the dire need, the shivers in the secrecy. Whatever Saul wanted, Saul took, and Sara happily let him take. She craved for him, she craved for that need she sensed coming from him.
She craved to be wanted, to be desired, to be worshipped.
All of those thoughts were pushed aside with the presence of a second woman in the mix. One that was happily trying to make conversation while Sara's skin burned in anticipation, screaming to be touched by the man sitting beside her, tingling to have his lips kissing ever inch her clothes were covering. "Aw, I did. I saw that..." The short-haired brunette forced a smile, trying to seem as sweet as she usually was with people. "I feel so terrible for her. I hope she's okay." Which was true. Sara couldn't remember if she'd seen the other brunette before, but chances were, she had. Still, it was so worrisome to have someone hurt themselves like that.
His touch distracted her. It emptied out her mind as soon as his fingers ghosted against the exposed skin of her back and Sara drew in a deep breath through her nose, once again, pressing her lips tightly onto one another and preventing her from letting out an unwanted moan that would have ruined their facade entirely. "Oh, of course!" Ms. Bryant took Saul's hand with a smile and gave it another firm shake, before waving her hand towards several rows of cars parked nearby. "The kids are waiting for me by the car! I just wanted to stop by and say hello! It was nice meeting you, Sara." She then shifted said smile to Sara, who smiled back and stood up from the bleachers to that Ms. Bryant's hand with both of hers again. "Likewise, Ms. Bryant! Have a wonderful day."
As they watched the woman leave them alone, Sara trapped another chuckle between her lips as she bit softly on her bottom, red-tinted one and looked up at Saul, before playfully smacking his arm. "Do you know how hard it was not to react to your touch just now?" With a playful eye roll, Sara shook her head as she whispered those words to her current companion, then brushing her short strands behind her ears. "You make things very hard for me sometimes, Saul Weissberg." She told him, again, still on the same hush-hush tone, before starting to climb down the bleachers. "Would you mind giving me a ride home? I didn't drive here." Her tone was loud enough for passersby to hear, which, would have been perfectly normal to ask, considering they did know each other. And well... maybe they could go somewhere safely away from prying eyes and continue their — conversation. / @saulweissberg

he suffered because he couldn’t have her. in all the time he had been having sara, just coming on four months, the past two weeks were the longest he had been without her. saul was a man of routine and ritual; he was more than capable of impulsivity, and enjoyed the chaos that every day life could bring, but down to his core, he liked regimens. he liked knowing where his next meal was coming from. he liked knowing how his day was going to be planned out, which clients he was going to meet. most of all, he liked knowing when he was next going to get laid. throughout four months, they had established a routine they didn’t have to differ from much. some meetings were postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, but they saw each other eventually. at least until kate temporarily moved in. saul felt like he was going crazy from need. suffering was the only word for it.
he was a physical man. always had been lascivious. even at an older age, he still felt a desire that couldn't be sated. sometimes his libido couldn’t be matched. then sometimes he was too stressed, too busy to be able to get the release he needed. finding sara had been a relief. finding someone that wanted him had been a relief. if he tried, it wasn’t hard to find someone willing to let him take them on a date, but sometimes, he just wanted to get the politesse of dating out of the way. sometimes he just wanted to know what he was getting and where it was coming from. sara, for her part, wanted him just as much.
surprisingly, she wanted him just as much. saul didn’t understand what she saw in him. she was young, a recent mother, incredibly beautiful, extraordinarily kind. she had a whole future ahead of her, a whole world open to whatever she wanted to do. saul was over the hill. he was still attractive, at least he believed so, but the man that looked back at him in the mirror was not the same man that looked back at him ten years ago. five years ago, even. certainly not twenty years ago. to have her sit next to him in that dress, biting her lip like it wasn’t driving him crazy...
she had suffered, too. but probably not as much as he had.
any response to the information about her empty house was cut off by the uninvited appearance of michelle bryant. any other time he would’ve been more welcoming; he loved to hear about how his former clients were living their best lives post-divorce, that they were happy with his work. right now, he wanted to quit being a lawyer so he’d never be interrupted out in public again. ms. bryant was perfectly nice, at least he thought he remembered her being nice, but he just wanted her to leave and pretend she never saw them. not when he had half a mind to grab sara and pull her behind the equipment room.
“oh, it’s so nice to meet you, sara. are you a client of saul’s, too?” michelle smiled, head tilted. did she want her own piece of gossip for the providence peak rumor mill? or was she generally curious? saul couldn’t tell, and he was generally very good at reading people.
“ah-ah, michelle! attorney-client privilege.” saul chastised teasingly, giving michelle a playful wink.
michelle laughed it off and turned her attention back to sara at her next question. “it was a lot of fun! lot better turn out than last year. did you see that girl get hit in the face with the baseball?”
saul laughed when it happened, but he was pretty sure it was either phoebe or her friend that happened to, he couldn’t tell between the two tiny brunette specks he saw from the bleachers, so he tried to keep it to just once. still, he didn’t want to be rude, so he nodded and smiled politely. with sara seated next to him again, he reached behind him and placed a hand on sara’s shoulder blade. his fingers slipped through her hair cascading down her back, but from the front, it looked like he was giving her shoulder a friendly squeeze. “i actually have to take sara back to my office—attorney-client business, you understand. but i’ll see you soon, ms. bryant. we’ll have lunch.” saul rose from his seat and held out his hand for michelle to take, desperate for her to get the hint and leave without making a fuss.

Amusement parks would always remind Sara of spending the holidays in the warm Disney World alongside her sister and fathers. Aarti would always bring out the fun, carefree side of Sara, and back then, she really was. Back when they were children and she didn't have a little one to look after, it was Aarti who would drag Sara out of her shell and show her how beautiful the world could be. As she watched Hanbin debate on which ride they should go first, it almost made the younger woman wish she would've given Aarti the day with her nephew, after all, Sara knew how much they had missed each other. "Let's go there!" He signed to his aunt, then pointing to the Pendulum ride that Aarti had suggested mere moments ago. "Do you think he's tall enough to go there, though?" Sara asked her sister, then offered her hand for Hanbin to take. "So..." She started, speaking in Hindi so Hanbin wouldn't understand them. "His father is having him tomorrow. I've decided to give him a chance to prove me wrong." / @aartiyooncastillo
Tumblr media
Aarti looked around the amusement park, taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling crowds and colorful attractions. Her eyes landed on the Pendulum ride, and a grin spread across her face. She pointed at the towering structure—its seats swinging back and forth like a giant clock. "That looks fun to me," she said before then squatting down to meet her nephew's gaze, her expression softening. "But I think we should have you pick it for us." As the adult, Aarti knew she couldn't just choose the rides she wanted to go on. This day was about Hanbin, and she wanted him to have the best experience possible. "So, what's it gonna be, sweetie?" she asked, a brow rising. "Which ride should we conquer first?"

Sara didn't think of her as someone who would make others suffer, and yet, when Saul told her that was how he was feeling, she couldn't help but chuckle as she spared him a short glance. Saul Weissberg... the man who could have anyone in town at his beck and call — well, not only in town, but just... at all? He certainly gave off the vibe, — was suffering because of her. It made her feel... powerful to say the least. It plastered a small smirk on her lips as her pinky finger gently brushed the outside of his thigh, hoping that the discreet movement was setting his skin on fire just as much as his was doing hers.
"I think you'd like to know that you were not the only one suffering." Sara nodded, her eyes trying their best to remain trained on the diamond ahead of them, so that it wouldn't give people the wrong idea about the duo. "But at the same time..." Biting softly on her bottom lip, the petite brunette shifted her attention towards him, finding it painful not to look at him as they spoke. "I think I like the idea of you suffering because you couldn't have me."
A confession... unlike the ones she was used to, but when it came to Saul, nothing was really like anything that she was used to.
As conversation evolved and she mentioned her ex-husband, the young mother simply replied with a shrug to his words. It wasn't exactly unfortunate... maybe she should've explained herself better, but she didn't want to keep bringing Hyun Woo, especially since he didn't often bring up his ex-wife either during their encounters. "It's okay." Sara told him with a small smile and a slight shrug of her shoulders, her hand inching to the side and letting her thumb now caress his pinky finger. "He will be with his father all day long." An indicator that she would have the house all to herself throughout the day, and of course, Saul would keep her mind from thinking about Hyun Woo running away with her son. "So, we—"
Before she could suggest them continuing the conversation elsewhere, preferably with their hands on their bodies and their lips on each other's, someone called out to Saul, forcing Sara to look at the woman's direction. He really did know almost everyone in town, didn't he?
Sara drew in a breath, running her tongue along her bottom lip, tasting the cherry chapstick she was wearing, before pressing her lips together just as Saul introduced her to Mrs. Bryant. "I don't believe we've met, no." Acting as if her whole body wasn't shaking in anticipation for Saul's touch, Sara stood up from her seat and took the hand the other woman had offered her in both of her own hands and gave it a firm shook. "It's nice meeting you, though, Mrs...?" Sara hesitated, looking from Saul to the woman in case, in search for a first name, which was answered by Mrs. Bryant, herself. "Oh, Michelle. Michelle Bryant." The younger mother still smiled. "I'm Sara. Sara Yoon-Castillo." After giving out her full name, Sara sat down by Saul again, this time adjusting her dress so that the slit didn't expose her legs as they had before. "Did you enjoy the game? Saul was telling me his opinion on it." / @saulweissberg
Tumblr media
despite every older man in the world in his same predicament saying it, he really hadn’t sought out sara. the opportunity sort of… fell into his lap that new year's eve. it was sara that initiated the random, but not unwelcomed first kiss. it was sara that wanted the relationship to continue past a drunken makeout session during the new year's party. saul was in no way blameless in their situation, not some hapless participant unhappy with the situation, but if sara hadn’t kissed him first, he never would’ve made the first move. he never would’ve thought of her outside of the context as a mutual friend and fellow providence peak citizen. all that to say he wasn’t innocent. even though their relationship was kept secret for a variety of reasons on both sides, he enjoyed their arrangement.
enjoyed it until two weeks ago, at least. with kate taking temporary residence in his guest room, saul thought it would be disrespectful to invite sara over when he had a roommate. when it came to sara, there weren't any sleepovers where they didn’t have sex at least once, so it wasn’t like he’d have her over for a nice dinner—especially since he didn’t cook unless absolutely necessary—to meet his old friend from new york city. that would’ve ruined the secrecy. not that he thought kate would tell, especially since the only people he thought she knew in providence peak were himself and her ex-husband, but if it was to be kept just to themselves, that meant only themselves.
still, he hadn’t been sexiled since junior year of undergrad. the need was making him sick.
he was a distraction. it was incredibly flattering to his ego, that was undeniable. it was nice to know someone out in the world was thinking that way of him. everyone else in his life, he eventually disappointed in some capacity. his former sister-in-law made no secret of how much she hated him, his ex-wife undoubtedly thought negatively of him, and his son barely answered his calls. he knew it was inevitable that he’d disappoint sara somehow, some day. he had to enjoy being her distraction now. it wasn’t as if his own thoughts weren’t often plagued with her either. in fact, since he couldn’t have her over to his house biweekly like he had for the past four months, he couldn’t stop thinking about sara. the nerve of her to wear that fucking red dress. “i do—actually, i’m relieved. i thought i was the only one suffering.”
were they selling it? did anyone take a look at the pair now and not recognize the unbearable tension between them? saul felt like his nerves were jolted with electricity and there wasn’t anything he could do about it. “it’s okay. it was for a good cause.” money wasn’t exactly an obstacle to saul, anyway. if he spent some money on a venture that didn’t work out, then his lawyer retainer alone would recoup the loss within a month or two. he gritted his teeth the moment sara’s hand brushed against him, trying to focus on her words rather than her touch. quite a fucking effort. “oh, that’s unfortunate.” it seemed that she had an ex-spouse run-in as well that day. at least he wasn’t alone in that regard.
he didn’t want to think about sara’s ex, though. he certainly didn’t want to think about thalia. when sara was around him, he worked hard to not compare the two, or any of his ex-wives, for that matter. it was hard when it felt like thalia—or her older sister, kathleen—were always around every corner. everywhere he went, if he didn’t see either of them, he was reminded of them. it was their hometown, after all. saul was the invader. that was why he tried so hard to foster new relationships, make new memories. new york city would always be his home in his heart, but physically, he was in providence peak for the foreseeable future.
saul didn’t have to look at her to know her resolve was breaking. any façade of calm, casualness was going to be ruined if they didn’t get a hold of themselves. it was easier for him to keep his face stony, but his resolve was breaking, too. “i want to show you how much.” saul responded, forcing himself to focus his eyes on the emptying baseball diamond. “sara—”
Tumblr media
just then, a voice called out his name. looking around the bleachers, he found the source of the voice: michelle bryant, former client. he got her a pretty alimony settlement, from what he could remember, but that wasn't rare for saul's clients.
‘saul weissberg! how nice to see you out and about!’
fucking damn it. “hey, ms. bryant. how’re you?” saul asked, his irritation thankfully hidden in his voice. the woman looked between the seated pair, her smile hesitatingly twitching. saul removed his hand from sara’s thigh. “have you met sara before? she works at wonderwell.”

"And that was my lame attempt to crack a joke." Still, she chuckled, because, if Sara wasn't going to laugh at her own silliness, who would? Definitely not other people. "But I'll take you up on that invitation though. I miss that pretty face of yours." She reached up, gently cupping his face in between her hands and giving it a little squeeze. As the crowd cheered again, Sara noticed her son and ex-husband cheering among the happy faces, so, if she continued standing where she was, she might end up being spotted. "Yes, let's go sit down! Tell me all the things, starting by who are you rooting for?" / @cjwelford

“You can come when you’re not heartbroken, sometimes it’s fun to break shit just because you can and not because you’re sad!” CJ pointed out, his attention tearing between Sara and the baseball diamond. Once the crowd settled again, he smiled at her as her answer and follow-up question registered. “Oh! Here on my own as well, my brother was supposed to come but had to work. So, yeah, feel free to sit if you want!”

Sara smiled back, wiggling her fingers at the baby in Dilan's arms. When Hanbin was this small, the young woman didn't remember feeling this happy about being a mother, but now, she wouldn't have had any other way. "That's so nice." She then rubbed her son's back, as if to call his attention. "Say hello to Ms. Dilan, Hanbinnie." Sara signed to the six-year old when he looked up at her, and the little boy then waved at the fellow woman, followed by him pointing towards the little girl in Dilan's arms. "What's her name?" He asked, and then Sara nodded. "We are, actually. Which one did you like more, Bin? This or the wolves?" And Hanbin threw his hands up excitedly. "The wolves! Because they eat people! Rawwr!" Sara chuckled. "They don't exactly, but, I figured you'd like them more." Then, she turned to Dilan to explain the situation. "We went to the Wolf sanctuary during the holidays and he got to pet them. Have you ever been?" / @dilanxbarak

Dilan was no stranger to the petting zoo, but Selvi very much enjoyed looking at the animals, so who was she to deny her daughter the adventure? "Hi, Sara," Dilan was met with a familiar face, one that brought a bright smile to her lips. "We are both doing great," she looked down at Selvi, picking her hand up to wave back at Hanbin in return, "aren't we?" She kept the smile, "Are you two enjoying the petting zoo? Selvi can't seem to get enough of it."@sarayoon

Despite being able to hide from her son and her ex throughout the baseball game, Sara still couldn't help but sending constant text to the man she once had fallen madly in love with. It had been months since Hyun Woo had come back into her life, and he had done nothing but accept her terms and conditions into easing himself into their son's life, however, she had been blindsided by the man before, so, of course she was still scared that the moment she let her guard down, Hyun Woo would run away with their kid... luckily, that didn't happen. Not yet, at least. Still, Sara welcomed them with a chuckle, watching Hanbin storm into their house. "Shoes off, Hanbin!" She warned their son, only to watch him come back and leave his shoes by the door. "Also, thank you for having dinner with him." She bit softly on her bottom lip. "Would you like to help him with his shower and tuck him in?" / @seongxhyunwoo

WITH: @sarayoon LOCATION: following the charity baseball game at sara's house
He had spent the day after Christmas with Sara and her family and their son. Yet for Hyun Woo, his present came months later in the form of an offer. The chance to spend the entire day with Hanbin, only the two of them. While Hyun Woo never minded Sara’s company ( her sister’s perhaps slightly ), he understood the magnitude of this opportunity. Telling Hanbin who he was had been one step in the direction of him feeling like a father. But the trust she placed in him to not require supervision allowed him to feel more like a parent, and less like a temporary visitor. He’d never expressed this to her because he understood her reservations and though Hanbin was their son, he was also hers in all ways. The day itself had been as exciting and all American as it could get. They’d gone to the charity baseball game, shared a few hotdogs, cheered for the team that Hanbin liked based on their mascot, and gotten an early dinner. Sara had received live updates throughout the day and as they parked in the familiar driveway, Hanbin ran into the house waving around the foam finger on his hand, and Hyun Woo laughed as he explained the excitement. “As you may be able to tell, our team won.”

To say that Sara hadn't heard the phrase 'Can we have a puppy?' coming from her son's lips would be an understatement, and, ever since Jamie samchon had moved to Providence Peak alongside Rey, that question had become more and more frequent in the Yoon-Castillo's household. "Eomma says no." Hanbin told uncle Jamie as he gently pet one of the dogs up for adoption, to which, Sara nodded as she gave her best friend a pointed look. "That's because puppies are a big responsibility, Hanbin. Right, samchon?" Fuck... she really did hate saying no to her little boy, but if Sara was going to keep on letting him have everything and do everything he wanted to, her little one was going to grow up more spoiled than she would have liked him to. "Are you ready to take care of one, Hanbin-ie?" With an innocent eye-roll, Sara leaned in to press a kiss on the taller man's cheek. "Hey, sweet cheeks. How are you doing today?" / @jamesxreed

Where: Barks and Recreation adoption event Who: @providencepeakstarters
Capping at 3!
The professor had convinced himself (something he seemed to be doing a lot these days) that he wanted Rey to be able to play with the dogs who were up for adoption. To be fair, Rey was indeed having her fun playing with them but it was definitely testing James' self-control not to adopt another dog and make the excuse that Rey was lonely. Convincing himself yet again, he reminded himself that he barely had time to take care of Rey now. He didn't want to end up neglecting a young pup.
As he sat and watched Rey play, he spoke to the person beside him. "Do you have one of your own or are you here considering of adopting one?" he asked.

Sara could've swore that she'd heard her name being called, but, in a park this crowded, she figured she should pay little mind to it, or else, she'd spend her entire day looking around, searching for possible people who could've called out to her. This time, however, she wasn't wrong. There were familiar faces approaching her, which brought a smile on her face. "Hazel, my princess!" She clapped her hands twice, before offering her embrace to the toddler, not without glancing at Alicia, as if asking for permission to hold her. Once Hazel was safe in her arms, Sara held onto her, planting a kiss on her rosy cheek. "How are you, hm? Having fun with mama?" The petite brunette chuckled, before leaning in and greeting Alicia with a kiss on her cheek. "Hello to you too, sweet cheeks!" It was always nice to see Alicia and her daughter. If Hanbin were there, he would probably be tightening his grip around Hazel, too, in the form of a hug. "I'm okay. My sister has Binnie for the time being, so I'm free to hang with you girlies for a while if you'd like my company." / @aliciamillergarcia

Characters: Alicia Miller-Garcia & Sara Yoon (@sarayoon) Location: Stomias Point Amusement Park Closed Starter
Maybe coming to the amusement park on what undoubtedly the busiest day of the year for them was not the best idea, considering how a two year old could barely wait in line for ten minutes let alone an hour. Hazel was growing impatient and was opting for running around the place rather than wanting to go on the rides. As long as she was having a good time, that was all that mattered. She heard the little girl gasp before noticing her stopping in her tracks and pointing towards a lady ahead of them. "Sara!" Hazel exclaimed, Alicia realizing that the girl's eyes were scanning the crowd for the little boy that she associated with her. "Let's go say hi," she said, picking her daughter up before approaching Sara with a smile. "Hey! It's great to see you. How have you been?"

Funny how things had worked for her at that New Years party. Despite having spent a good chunk of the beginning of the new year thinking of herself as something horrible for having spread her legs to the man who had once broken her heart into a million pieces those years ago, that fatidic December 31st had also given her a chance to get to know Saul Weissberg a little but better.
Sara wasn't going to stand there and act like she didn't have fun playing pretend that she didn't know the man as biblically as she has been getting to know. She liked watching him squirm between her thighs, she liked how he easily elicited moans from her lips as they rolled over in bed — or whatever other flat surface they could find, but most of all, she liked how free he made her feel. Saul Weisberg had been setting her soul on fire like she had hoped he would.
His finger brushed against the outside of her high, exposed by the slit of her flowered dress and brought her gaze to his direction once again. "I find you very distracting." Sara nodded, still hoping he would inch a little closer, or that he would caress her skin a little more, for she had always craved affection in any shape and form. "Do you like knowing that?" She swallowed hard, finding it that tiny display of affection enough courage to ask him directly, as she often did when they were alone between four walls.
And then, Saul met her with a bucket of cold water as he went on about the game. Right... they were in public. They were at a game. The same game her ex-husband had said to take their son, so, Sara made sure to stay away and not let Hanbin see her, because she was a father/day son, as well as a day alone for Sara. "Yeah, I wouldn't have pegged you for a gambler anyway. Still, I'm sorry didn't go your way." Mimicking his actions, Sara rested her hand on the bleachers, too close to his thigh, so she would be gently ghosting her pinky finger against the pale skin of the outside of his thigh. "But I'm okay. I completely forgot that my ex and my son would be here, so I spent a good chunk of the game hiding from them." While also constantly texting Hyun Woo, asking for updates from Hanbin because, if she couldn't see them, then she was definitely growing anxious. But she left that part unsaid, because she wasn't going to bring up an ex while in the presence of a man she'd been hooking up with for the last few months.
And then, again, like a goddamn switch he'd turned on, Saul was back with his husky voice, the one she enjoyed so much hearing close to her ear. "Is that so?" The petite brunette tried her best not to smile, or smirk, or... show any kind of emotion, however, Sara being Sara, she knew that sooner rather than later, she would end up giving up. "How much?" / @saulweissberg
Tumblr media
he wasn’t oblivious to the effect he had on her. when it came to sara, she wore her feelings on her face, and, well, saul always had an easy way with women. if she got a little flushed at being called pretty, he’d call her pretty every single day for the rest of their li… or perhaps not. somehow, when he was around sara, he forgot about their shelf life. their relationship inevitably had an expiration date. as much as he enjoyed his time with her, sara still had a full life ahead of her. she had a young son, and maybe more children were in her future. she still had time to dream, time to figure things out. saul’s days of dreaming were over. he already had fifty-two years—god, fucking fifty-two years, how did that happen?—of life behind him. their situation was exhilarating, but he had to remind himself to enjoy it while he could. eventually, the trysts would end. she would find someone who still had time to love her, someone that could promise her a future, someone to put a ring on her finger when he had already placed a ring on the hands of three separate women before her. that was what he reminded himself of whenever he was away from sara. when he was with her, however, he found a way to live in the moment. “i have no idea what you’re talking about.” saul replied, feigning innocence. his actions didn’t match his words as he moved his hand down to the bleacher seat, maneuvering it between his leg and hers. the edge of his finger lightly caressed against the outside of her thigh. the motion was imperceptible to anyone else that happened to look, but his skin felt like it was on fire.
“oh, is that so?” saul questioned teasingly. he figured she was joking, since he hadn’t even looked in her direction until the game was over. “you find me that distracting, do you?” shit, he needed to rein it back. to anyone that glanced over at them, they might have seemed like friendly acquaintances having a quick chat, but anyone that overheard him would realize there was something… off about them. “not really, no. it was too stressful. i had money on the game—it’s a long story—but it just reaffirmed that i'm not a gambling man. relies too much on chance, y’know? i like to know i'm going to win." there was a reason why he was so good at his job, but it was tacky to brag about his success rate. (that didn’t stop him from bragging, however.) he glanced down at sara and asked, "so... how have you been?” he leaned into her, dropping his voice to a whisper: “i’ve missed you.”

Sara knew she sounded like a teenager with a crush, but whenever Saul called her 'pretty', her heart would swell a little and skip a beat. She was too old to be harboring crushes on other people, and yes, she could count on the fingers of her hands the times she ended up getting burned after having developing crushes like these, yet, here she was, once again, trying. "I'm pretty sure you do it on purpose, don't you?" The petite brunette smiled, pressing the back of her hands onto her cheeks, trying not to seem as shy as she felt. She even added a slight eye-roll at the older man who had seen do several other things she should have been shy about in bed, but definitely didn't.

When Saul bumped shoulders with her, Sara couldn't help but chuckle. "Nope. I was being too distracted by your pretty blue eyes across the field." She lied, sticking her lips out in a charming little pout. Just because they were pretending to be mere acquaintances, it didn't mean she couldn't try and be a little charming right back, did it? But, it was merely a lie because she had only noticed Saul as the crowd began to dissipate. "What about you? Did you enjoy the game?" / @saulweissberg
it was just a game. that was what saul tried to remind himself of; that not only was it just a game, it was for charity, but saul was naturally competitive even when he didn't have money at stake. (he was a lawyer, it would've been weird if he wasn't.) since he did have money on it, it was the first time in his entire fifty-two years that he actually cared about baseball. that meant saul was a little too excited, watching the game intently as if he had any idea what was going on. when the game finally finished, he didn't realize it was over until he looked around the bleachers and the diamond to see everyone leaving. in his confused search, his eyes landed on the one person he pretended not to know very well. and by god, did he know her now. he returned her wave and smile with a small nod, affection shining in his gaze. it wasn't long after that sara appeared at his side. “hey, pretty lady.” he responded in kind, amusement in his tone. there was something so electrifying about sharing a secret—to the world, they were friendly acquaintances. in reality, they had shared a bed just a few days ago. “i don't know if fun is the word i'd use, but it certainly held my attention.” for the first time ever, he could say that about baseball—or sports in general. saul leaned closer to sara, bumping his shoulder into hers. “how 'bout you? did you understand a minute of it?”

It really did seem like it had been ages ago, and Sara was now in a much more comfortable position about that party, so it didn't feel awkward to look back on it and remember that she had slept with her ex back then. Nor that she was still doing it on the down low. "Right? I feel like I should go back to having heartaches just to go back to the Break Room and see you again." She chuckled, gently bumping shoulders with CJ, before brushing her short strands behind her ears. "I'm actually here by myself." Sara told the other man as she raised one hand to press it onto her forehead and cast a shadow over her eyes. "Are you—" She got startled for a second there when one of the teams scored, forcing her attention to be moved to the field, and then, to return to CJ. "—Gosh! Who are you here with?" / @cjwelford

Anything sports related, CJ was there. He had missed the cut-off date to sign up for himself, but he was better at swimming and basketball than baseball anyway. It was still just as fun to watch it, and for a good cause and everything too. That said, he wasn’t expecting the sun to be this hot this damn early in the day so when a soda was handed to him, he gladly took it without a thought of who was offering it until he recognized Sara’s voice. “Yo, thanks!” He exclaimed, smiling widely at the woman. Had it really been that long since they last saw each other? “Wow, that party seems like years ago…” Mainly due to how much his own life had changed since ringing in the new year, “I never pegged you as a baseball fan. Here with anyone? You’re more than welcome to join, if you want!” One of the teams scored again, and he cheered loudly before taking in her answer, fully.

Some things didn't change, Sara thought to herself as she watched her son clinging to her ex-husband's neck and Hyun Woo complained about work with that same attitude he used to in the past. Back when Sara used to think 'why can't you simply do something you love?'... back when she used to be more innocent than she was now when it came to his family. "Ah... poor Hyunwooie..." She chuckled, gently patting on his head, as if to try and soothe him. Things had been so nice between them that Sara had even changed from calling him formally to using informal speech around him. "Adulting is hard, isn't it?" As the trio started walking towards the popcorn vendors, Sara reached up to caress her son's cheek. "I've been mostly organizing Wonderwell's attractions and exhibitions downtown, and this one has been learning some Korean, right, Hanbin-ah?" Bin nodded in his father's arms, one arm loosely wrapped around Hyun Woo's neck while he looked around. "I can count to 20, appa!" Again, Sara smiled. "We're glad to have you back." In so many ways, it seemed liked Providence Peak was doing the older man some good. She couldn't possibly include herself in that equation, but Hyun Woo definitely seemed happier than when he had first stepped foot in the small city. / @seongxhyunwoo

The smile that broke across his face at the sight of his son running towards him was unstoppable. Hyun Woo's arms stretched out and he enveloped Hanbin in a hug, pulling him off the ground and into his arms immediately after. It was a wonder how he’d managed to spend six years away from the boy when now, even going a week without seeing him felt too long. The warm excitable welcome did more to relief his exhaustion than any caffeine. He smiled wen Sara pointed out the obvious, planting a kiss on Hanbin's cheek before he spoke. “I missed you too, Bin-ah.” Attention returning to Sara, Hyun Woo nodded. “It was productive. But also, long. Exhausting. Boring.” With each subsequent adjective, his grin grew, falling into an easy habit of complaining to her, much like he had in the past when he returned from business trips. “I’m so glad to be back.” Just like he always had been. He nodded at the suggestion with just as much enthusiasm as the six-year-old in his arms. “What have you two been up to this week?” | @sarayoon

— SETTING: spring extravaganza ; april 9th, charity baseball game — AVAILABILITY: closed starter for SAUL WEISSBERG | ( @saulweissberg )
Tumblr media
Sara had never understood baseball, but, charity was charity and since she had promised herself to try and have more quality time by herself, here she was, trying to enjoy herself at a game she didn't quite give too much thought about. As the crowd gave one last cheer at the referee's last whistle, the brunette pressed her lips into a thin line... that was it? That was the whole game? Her gaze moved along the crowd as it began leaving their seats and she locked eyes with a particular pair of blue hues. Sara waved discreetly at Saul, offering him a small smile. Would it be bad if she went there to say hello? They had agreed on keeping things discreet, but that didn't mean she couldn't greet him in public, right? It wasn't like she was some kind of dirty little secret, so, she got up from her seat, too and walked towards the older lawyer. The smile reappeared on her lips as she joined him. "Saul Weissberg as I live and breathe!" The short-haired brunette teased, feigning surprise. "Did you have fun?"

— SETTING: spring extravaganza ; april 6th, stomias point amusement park — AVAILABILITY: closed starter for AARTI YOON-CASTILLO | ( @aartiyooncastillo )
Tumblr media
Since they had enjoyed a nice night out with Hyun Woo the night before, Sara reserved the Saturday to enjoy with her sister and her son at the amusement park. It had been a while since the duo had been to one, and, since she was saving money for Hanbin's cochlear implant, there was no way they would be able to make it to Disney World this summer like Bin had asked her to. It was okay, though... soon, she would tell herself. As she held onto her son's hand, Sara turned to her sister with a smile, while Hanbinnie updated his auntie about the movie from the night before and his father. "Alright, where should we go first?"
