Who is the best chiropractor in Atlanta
Tumblr media
Joseu Andino.  He really listens, he's very in tune with the body and has studied and really understands what is going on, why you are in pain and what you need to do to feel better. He is compassionate and thoughtful regarding how to help you.  He has healing hands - he also does massage therapy. I have to tell you i just love this YouTube video about Carpet Cleaning Westchester County, NY – Robison Oil I cannot say who would be the best chiropractor, but it is definitely worth asking the person about the dangers of neck manipulations. If they claim that there is none, walk away as fast as possible, as they are either lying or uninformed aboyut their own treatments.
For more information about the dangers of neck manipulations, see e.g.

Which is better for neck pain -- a chiropractor or a masseuse
Tumblr media
I'm going to throw in my oar here. I am a Licensed Massage Practitioner in the State of Washington, and I have to say that the answer to this question is dependent on many many factors.  And also, I think it's important to know that massage and chiropractic are not the only options for soft tissue manipulation.  Osteopathy is actually my treatment of choice, along with Trager Mentastics or Bowenwork.   Depending on the underlying cause, Massage Therapy (or the bodywork specialty I'm studying, which is Trager Mentastics) may be the best choice for relief of pain.  The best candidates for soft tissue manipulation include chronic muscle, ligament, tendon or fascial pain caused by old injuries or caused by postural issues related to the working environment.  If those are the clear causes, I do not hesitate to suggest massage either in conjunction with other manual therapies or as a stand-alone therapy.   I have always preferred a team approach when dealing specifically with neck pain, because of the many possible underlying causes.  If there is any question, I prefer that the patient get a good differential diagnosis.  My best work has been in conjunction with Physical Therapists trained in osteopathic techniques, plus an Osteopath who did the initial diagnosis.   I have to tell you i just love this YouTube video about Carpet Cleaning Westchester County, NY – Robison Oil I have also dealt with my own chronic back and hip pain, caused by a fall down the stairs.  At the time that the injury occurred, I went to my physician.  She had me do X-ray's, and because there were no broken bones, she had no further suggestions.  This underlies the reality that any honest MD will admit to, which is that our system of medical education is woefully lacking in training to deal with soft-tissue injuries.  A year later, and a run of chiropractic adjustments later, I was still experiencing significant pain daily.  The adjustment helped for a day or two, then the pain would return.  I finally went back to my doctor.  Thankfully, she was gone that week, so I saw her partner who referred me to a remarkable Physical Therapist who had been trained in Osteopathic techniques.  Between her Muscle Energy treatments and the exercises she assigned to me, I was receiving significant pain reduction within a week.  Later in my life, I found an incredible osteopath who treatments kept my body functioning optimally.  (Osteopath's are MD's who specialize in soft tissue injuries.  Their techniques have some similarities to chiropractic, but also some important differences). If I had to choose who to see for differential diagnosis, I would see a Physiatrist or Osteopath, and take their recommendations.  If they were to refer me to an Orthopedic Surgeon or Neurosurgeon, to further rule out other causes, I would certainly take their advice.  Once I would have my diagnose, I would choose my treatment accordingly.  And I would recommend that my clients take the same approach.  As the post above about Arnold Chiari malformation points out, there can be causes that only a highly trained and intuitive physician can accurately dianose.

Who is the best chiropractor in Hyderabad
Tumblr media
If you have back pain, chiropractic may be a very good treatment option. Chiropractic is used by many patients with low back pain. In fact, over 40% of patients with low back pain seek the services of a chiropractor to help relieve their pain. I have to tell you i just love this YouTube video about Carpet Cleaning Westchester County, NY – Robison Oil
Why Consult a Chiropractor Chiropractic offers gentle, effective, and time-saving approaches to treat your low back pain. Chiropractic is a drugless, non-surgical system of health care. One important principle of chiropractic involves returning motion to the spine. Restricted spinal motion—when the spine doesn't move as well as it should—can cause back pain.
Chiropractors emphasize spinal manipulation (or adjusting the spine) as a means of correcting spinal joint restrictions and relieving pain, treating disc injuries, improving alignment and posture, and promoting health and wellness.
Chiropractic has developed a number of treatment approaches in addition to traditional spinal adjustments. These treatment approaches help chiropractors address a wide range of back pain conditions.

What’s the difference between going to a chiropractor and just cracking your back on your own
Tumblr media
“Once you go to a chiropractor you always have to go for the rest of your life.” or… “I hear people get addicted to it.” I have to tell you i just love this YouTube video about Carpet Cleaning Westchester County, NY – Robison Oil
People do get addicted to feeling better than they have in a long, long time. Will you be going to a dentist, or your medical doctor or optometrist the rest of your life? How long should you exercise or eat right? These are just healthy lifestyle choices. Many people recognize the value of having a nervous system free of interference and choose regular adjustments to keep it that way.
“Why do I need to come in so often?” We are doing something physical to change your body physically. Two things are required for that: enough frequency over along enough time, just like getting in shape to run a marathon. It doesn’t matter how out of shape you are. If you work out frequently enough over a long period of time you can get into shape to run a marathon.
“Is is going to hurt?”
There are many techniques in chiropractic. Sometimes people go through retracing, which can be uncomfortable but is a wonderful sign because it is the body getting rid of old traumas from the past, allowing for a more complete healing. We use gently diversified manipulations that should not hurt.

How can a chiropractor help me
Tumblr media
I used to do heavy labor on hard concrete for 8–10 hours a day, 5–6 days a week. I'm a tall lean guy, and I'd have to bend and hold heavy objects extended in front of me repetitiously. Lower back pain has always come and gone for me, since a major growth spurt in my teen years, but I'm also relatively flexible. This pain extended to sciatica and the shooting nerve pains in my lower back, rear end, and down my leg were crippling. A bump in the road driving was excruciating. I have to tell you i just love this YouTube video about Carpet Cleaning Westchester County, NY – Robison Oil
My boss and I both went to see Dr. Chow in the Richmond district of San Francisco, and I told him how concerned I was about him possibly messing up my back permanently. He completely understood my concerns, I had previously filled out all the medical history forms, past injuries, et cetera, he prodded and checked the alignment of my spine. Had me lay horizontally on the chair/table on my right side, my right leg underneath me and extended down, and my left leg over my right with clearance from the table, my arms folded to my chest, and my left foot kind of hooking onto the back part of my right knee. He held my chest and upper body in place and started to gentlly barely rock my left leg and lower back in the process, and as I naturally exhaled, he swiftly pushed out and down on my leg and my spine sounded like a plastic sheet of packing material almost like a low sounding zipper, just “C-c-c-cr-cr-cr-ack!!” a wave of what I can only assume was blood rushing to my brain and a feeling of sweet release, euphoria, and a giggle fit, took me over for a good minute.
Find someone with impeccable reviews that upon meeting you like, and feel friendly and open towards, this is a necessity. If you don't really trust the person, your body will naturally seize up when they attempt to adjust you. This is not a good thing. You need to be as chill as possible and that means you need to feel protected and cared for. I don't live in SF anymore and I miss Dr. Chow, I used to ask my boss on adjustment days if he was ready to Chow downtown.

Do skeptics think what chiropractors do is valid or do they reject it as pseudoscience? Why
Tumblr media
As has been mentioned, skeptics are not a homogeneous group, and they do not have “house prophets”, so I can answer only for myself. And for myself, as a skeptic, I am interested in the evidence.
There is good evidence that chiropractic can work for lower back pain, so I do think it is valid for that purpose. (I would add it is fairly unsurprising that spinal manipulation therapy would work for back pain!)* I have to tell you i just love this YouTube video about Carpet Cleaning Westchester County, NY – Robison Oil
Chiropractors also make claims for other musculoskeletal conditions, but the evidence for those is unclear. While it is not totally implausible, and there are some mostly poor-quality studies suggesting it may be of use for this, I would not personally use it for such conditions after considering the risks.**
Finally, the area in which chiropractic deservedly falls into the category of total pseudoscience is in the claims it makes that much illness is caused by in misalignment of the spine. This is not supported by evidence but has led to chiropractic being used to treat asthma, IBS, colic, mental health conditions, allergies and more. This sort of use of spinal manipulation therapy is absolutely based on pseudo-scientific concepts such as life energy.
Chiropractors have had mishaps that include breaking a baby’s neck*** and even causing death from a stroke when used to treat a neck injury.****
So I’d avoid it altogether, personally.
Seek professional, legitimate, evidence-based medicine.

What are the similarities and differences between being a chiropractor and being a physician such as a MD or do
Tumblr media
Osteopathic Medicine is based upon a science of healing discovered by Andrew Taylor Still, MD in 1874. Dr. Still based this new science upon an absolute faith in a human beings innate capacity for self healing and a belief that if the Osteopath could remove the obstructions in the system, nature would provide the healing. It was his view that what we call disease is really just an effect of an abnormality or imbalance within a person’s body. “Disease in an abnormal body is just as natural as is Health when all the parts are in place”
Osteopathic Profession:
Osteopathic training, therefore, includes, not only the study of all branches of medicine and surgery, but also up to 500 hours of additional training in manual diagnosis and treatment. Today, there are more than 50,000 osteopathic physicians in the United States whose practices cover the entire range of specialties, such as emergency medicine, neurosurgery, cardiology, and psychiatry. More than 65% of DO’s choose primary care specialties, such as family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics, and pediatrics, as opposed to only 25% of MD’s. I have to tell you i just love this YouTube video about Carpet Cleaning Westchester County, NY – Robison Oil
Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine:
A DO can also specialize in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) for which Board Certification became available in 1990. Certification for Osteopathy in the Cranial Field is provided by The Cranial Academy, which is currently held by approximately 150 physicians nationwide. All DO’s are required to attend and document 50 hours of continuing medical education credits each year. For specialists in OMM, advanced training is offered by various organizations within the profession Cranial Osteopathy:
Those doctors who utilize Cranial Osteopathy have many hours of additional training in the various functions of the PRM and its relationship to all the anatomic and physiologic systems in the Living Human System. This specialized training allows the osteopathic physician to diagnose and treat disorders and diseases in ways that are unique to this method of Osteopathic Diagnosis and Treatment.
Osteopathic Physicians Vs Chiropractors – Scope of Practice:
The primary differences between an Osteopathic physician and a chiropractor are their levels of training and the scope of their practice. A chiropractor is not a fully licensed medical physician, and is not required to have completed residency training in a hospital. The scope of chiropractic practice is defined by statute as “including the diagnosing and locating of misaligned or displaced vertebrae and, through manual manipulation and adjustment of the spine and other skeletal structures, treating disorders of the human body. The practice of chiropractic does not include the use of drugs or surgery, or the practice of osteopathy, obstetrics, or any other branch of medicine”.
Osteopathic Physicians Vs Chiropractors – Techniques:
Chiropractic is primarily concerned with normalizing the alignment of the spine to influence the relationship between the spinal column and the nervous system. In this way, the chiropractor endeavors to influence the physiologic function of all of the organs and systems within the body. Although their techniques have expanded somewhat in recent years to include more gentle techniques, the vast majority of chiropractic adjustments are still of the thrust variety.
Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine is based upon the principle that the human body possesses self healing/self regulating mechanisms that are the source of true healing. The Osteopath is trained to discover the treatment plan that these forces have already designed, in that moment, specifically for that patient. The focus in treatment, therefore, goes beyond simple spinal alignment, to dealing directly with the abnormal body physiology using a array of direct and indirect techniques. This more holistic healthcare perspective, affords the Osteopath a broader spectrum of therapeutic options in addition to thrust techniques, among which are myofascial release, muscle energy, counterstrain, visceral manipulation, Osteopathy in The Cranial Field, and Biodynamics.
This broader range of diagnostic and therapeutic options, allows the Osteopathic physician to custom fit their treatment plan to the patient’s unique needs, respecting the fact that each of us is not necessarily meant to look and function the same way. This also means that the Osteopath does not prescribe months or years of treatment at the first visit, but lets the prescription unfold as the treatment process proceeds.

What is your review of Sacramento
Tumblr media
It depends on what element of Sacramento it is.
Weather? Love it during the unfortunately short Fall, Winter and Spring. Right now, too damn blisteringly hot. And yes, not as hot as Redding, CA or anywhere in Arizona, but it’s a lot more unreasonable than when I was younger growing up here.
Work - Plenty of opportunities and usually short commutes. If you live in Elk Grove and work in Roseville, its a bad commute, but that’s more your problem than the city’s. Overall traffic except when the streets are being worked on is much more reasonable than the Bay Area. Less tech stuff except in Folsom and Roseville, but lots of medical businesses and startups.I have to tell you i just love this YouTube video about Carpet Cleaning Westchester County, NY – Robison Oil
Things to do - Ok, not as much as the Bay Area, LA or any other much larger city. But there are (I think) more than 100 live theater venues, great bars, restaurants and nightlife. Plenty to keep you busy. Two rivers and lakes for water activities. Great bike trails (downtown Sacramento to Folsom), parks and close to the foothills for hiking. Plenty of backpacking, boating, rafting and skiing
Food - maybe no Michelin stared restaurants, but we have a lot of really good farm-to-fork local places. From casual to white linen. I think our mayor has been pushing the “farm-to-fork” capital idea, but it is true. Restaurants here have been letting diners know where their food is coming from for decades. Paragary’s,Mulvaney’s and The Kitchen started it, and plenty of their chefs have left and continued it in their own places.
Wine & Beer - here is my love affair. While Sacramento has very little wine here in the county, within an hour or two, you can get to Napa, Sonoma, Livermore, Lodi and the Sierra Foothills. Other than Santa Barbara and Paso, that’s all the key California wine regions right there. Beer? Sacramento used to be the beer capital of the US prior to Prohibition. Recently local brewing has been picking up and I expect we’ll see a major revival.
Used to be that Sacramento was a place that you had to leave to do things, but was close enough to everything to make that easier. Now its a place that has a lot to offer in addition to being near everything.

Physiotherapy or Chiropractor
Tumblr media
Physiotherapy has a much broader scope of practice than chiropractic treatment does. A well trained physiotherapist should have the ability to manipulate the spine, perform muscle release techniques, use acupuncture or IMS needling treatments, teach core stability exercises, help work on your posture and balance or build a sport specific training program for you. Most chiropractors focus purely on joint manipulation with a smaller percentage also using muscle release techniques like Active Release (A.R.T.) or Trigenics. Chiropractors may be the best at using manipulation as a treatment technique by virtue of pure experience and practice, but I would prefer a clinician that has the ability to manipulate me (if need be), needle me (if need be), use myofascial release (if need be) and spend the time with me to help me prevent the problem from arising again. A good physiotherapist should be able to do everything a good chiropractor can do and more. I have to tell you i just love this YouTube video about Carpet Cleaning Westchester County, NY – Robison Oil The problem is that not every physiotherapist is well trained and just like any profession there are ‘good’ ones and ‘bad’ ones. The same holds true for chiropractors. Some physiotherapists will bring their clients in hook them up to three different machines over the course of an hour and barely pay any attention to them. Some chiropractors will treat six people per hour for a pop, pop, pop and have their clients come 2-4 times per week for the better part of a year. Sometimes the business can get in the way of the healthcare and interfere with optimal care. The model of practice the physiotherapist, the chiropractor or the family physician choose to work in can unfortunately dictate the modality of treatment more than the actual needs of the patient
