Even though I love mikey so much and I think about his character constantly, I just resonate with sanzu haruchiyo so much. Family issues are so eerily similar along with the mikey obsession. Yes I love how you are a crazy bitch, i love how you can never let go of the past, i love how everything that has ever happened still haunts you, I love how you take any slight betrayal so personally, but I also love how you have that soft spot for mikey and can never blame him for anything even for a second, I love how you grew to disregard everyone else because of how easily everyone disregards you, I love how polite and proper and sweet you are even though no one can understand that because you grew to become so bitter due to the mistreatment from family and friends.

I wonder how much haruchiyo knew about tenjikus hit on emma and when exactly he heard about it or realized what happened. Or if he noticed how Mikey came to the gang war all bruised up? Did he wonder how Mikey got those bruises... or did he realize exactly what happened? Does he regret not being able to run right to mikeys side and comfort him? Or was he used to years of separation between the two that he didn't think would be able to? Did mikey tell him exactly what happened that day and even later what happened in the hospital? How much guilt does haruchiyo have when it comes to his own betrayal of mikey? Did mikey tell him that he forgave him? For not stopping or knowing about anything? Or knowing but not being able to do it? Would mikey even blame him? What type of relationship even progressed between them in that two year time skip between tomans disbanding and the three deities arc? How exactly does haruchiyo comfort mikey? Does mikey even allow himself that comfort? How much of killing muchou was for mikey, and how much of it was for haruchiyo? You think haruchiyo loves taking pictures of mikey because he wants to treasure every second that mikey has a healthy body full of life, unlike that horrible timeline? Does haruchiyo devote himself for mikey to comfort his friend, or to comfort his own heart for not being able to be there for mikey in the first timeline? Haruchiyo gladly went to juvie to defend mikey in the original timeline, so he was always devoted to mikey, even before the dark impulses. Does haruchiyo blame emma for running away, for abandoning her brother? Or does haruchiyo not bother to focus on people other than mikey? Does haruchiyo gladly let mikey drool on him while mikey naps on him or does he begrudgingly accept it?

Interesting how in the final timeline that both takemichi and haru both do filming for their careers and you can also say mikey is their muse. Hmm.

Mikey is such a tragic character because almost no one gets how the ending impacted him. No one got a happy ending, takemichi was able to get the most insane ego boost by making sure the people he has an obsession over can only ever rely on him and they all owe him for their perfect existence, meanwhile mikey has to witness the death of all his loved ones and the entire world he lived in, and even his own death, and is just playing pretend in this fake world that was created for him where no one can ever connect with him or ever understand who he is or know what torments him.

Mikey is actually an angel who fell from heaven if you think about how he was a guiding light to all and he was ripped from his previous world (the main series timeline) and forced to live forever in a new world (final timeline) where he is the only one of his kind and is forced to live in a world full of lies.
