just fyi you shouldn't emulate the problematic behavior depicted in fiction. just because something looks okay in a story doesn't make it okay in real life. this is about talking to your ex. do not text your ex. that's the devil speaking. you're not in a romcom. you're not in a fluffy fanfiction. it won't work out. don't do it.

People get very confused when I react strongly to people who make "kill all men" or "I hate all men" jokes.
I am a man. My partner is a man. I have friends and loved ones who are men. So when you say "all men", I take that literally. I take it as a threat to myself and the people I love.
Because that's what it is. And I will respond accordingly.

If I was rich at this point I would just pay cis women to go to town halls held by any democratic politician who has conceded ground on the "we need to make sure women's sports and competitions are fair by keeping men I mean trans women out" and ask them to their face why they are campaigning on a platform of women being stupid and weak. Just non-stop that. I never want them to know a moment's peace again, I want them to have to constantly contend with their platform being "women suck at everything" they should NOT get to shy away from what they're really saying.

Sorry we really went from free the nipple, take back the night, slut walks, and ending gender/sex segregation in sports being fucking milquetoast feminism 101 concepts to fucking girl dinner and "I just worry about fairness if we let trans girls play against cis ones" and "it was right of that woman to call the cops on a black man for existing near here in public during the day time because men are all violent monsters" and "radical feminism isn't transphobic we just need to kill all men including trans ones those oppressive traitors" and I will legit never be able to be normal about it. What the FUCK happened. I'd say I wonder what the feminists of my youth would say about this but I'm one and lemme tell ya I want to throw up. Go fucking read bell hooks or do something else useful please because all of this learned helplessness, gender essentialism, and transphobia dressed up as feminism is actively holding us back.

ppl on this website will say that those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it and then recycle the same "This Marginalized Queer Group Is Actually Bad And It's Actually Okay To Bully Them And Harass Them" discourse every year like clockwork

the fashionable modern first-world parenting mindset is centered around pretending that children are five years old for as long as possible, followed by mourning their loss when this is no longer feasible. Some fashionable modern parents attempt to prolong this, by either punishing their children or smothering them when they act their own age until they resume proper five-year-old behavior. Or, for more enterprising parents, by attempting to recruit teachers, corporations, lawmakers, and all of society to their cause, pushing early childhood as far out into adulthood as they can get away with. It doesn't even matter if the children are now past the age their parents were when they had them; these parents would push childhood all the way to the grave if they knew they could be around for it. and if they keep at it, they very well might be! but remember that no matter how hard they choke back tears at the funeral, this was exactly what they wanted; now their children will be children forever.

a lot of disabilities cause pain and pain can be the primary disabling symptom someone has. but please remember that disability is not equivalent to pain. you can be disabled by other things. you can be disabled and not feel any chronic pain at all.

why is landlord white even a thing. why must apartments become Boring as Hell between occupants. i have never gotten the keys to a place and thought "oh thank goodness the walls are all a dingy off-white! I'm terribly allergic to colors." the big complex I was in a while back had a demonstration unit with beautiful blue walls ... and then your lease says "NO PAINTING, CHUMP" and of course you can paint it back at the end but you're also a little worried about the property manager who's so anal about appearances she emailed you to get rid of the dead houseplant on your third floor balcony because it was unsightly. What are you doing inspecting my plant health with binoculars, Ginger? Haven't you got better things to do? anyway I used to work at a hardware store and I would be mixing paint for people pretty often and yes, Benjamin Moore White Dove in Eggshell is the default, OC-17, start with the gallon base for whites and off-whites, mentally beam MAKE BETTER AND COOLER CHOICES into the customer's mind, three taps with the mallet to close the gallon, ring em up at the back register. I don't think they should let you buy White Dove in Eggshell. I think you should have to submit a 1200-word essay justifying your choices before they let you buy White Dove. Or duel the cashier in Magic the Gathering or maybe Pokemon. Or maybe you can't buy only White Dove alone. You need at least a quart of another color alongside it. Like how some places need to serve food to keep their liquor license. I've decided that White Dove prohibition will be the platform on which I run for mayor of [redacted]. I'm a single-issue candidate. We'll be adding "Walls have White Dove" to the list of tenant move-in inspections that the rent board does alongside "Heat doesn't work" or "Carbon monoxide detector missing". I refuse to believe that anyone could actually enjoy the look of every single wall being "white paint that the landlord half-assed the color match on and only painted half the room with in a sliiiightly different gloss finish than the rest of the room." Vote for me today to deal with this urgently pressing issue overshadowing our whole society. anonymusbosch for mayor: I'll Come To Your Apartment And Paint It Some Non-Dogshit Color. For You.

I see the "protests are supposed to be disruptive" dragged out a lot for protests that are just disruptive. Protests certainly can be disruptive, but they're also supposed to do something.

Consent is not the be all end all of sexual ethics and risk. You can not redefine it in a way that makes sex 100% safe.
You will never engage in a high emotion, high intimacy, high vulnerabillity situation without the risk of shit going south.
If shit happens you sit down with your partner and figure it out together.
Furthermore there is plenty of irresposnible and questionable shit that a person can do that is still without a doubt not violating consent and by trying to turn consent into a binary between "okay and perfectly safe" vs "rape, bad person" you are turning a blind eye to all of those and eliminating the boundary between shit that is not okay to do and shit that went bad without anyone having done anything bad.
We don't need any further adjectives to modify consent. Just consent is enough. Consent is a human interaction and an ongoing navigation of boundaries, not a contract.
Also ffs please invest like a tenth of the energy you do into justifying the latest add on adjective on actually analyzing how little of a fuck we as a society really give about consent as soon as a situation is non sexual and the way that affects people and our own behavior if you want something to criticize and work on.
