Summer recap: Nothing is ever without flaws.

And with that thought in mind, I just started stitching together a bunch of SITF content. Just for the soul. Although, I’ll admit, I did start catching myself thinking that nobody really loves SITF anymore. Thankfully, I was wrong — I’m so happy with the current activity and how my audience is starting to grow again. :)

Here’s the main star of this summer — Padre! I kept melting every time over that sweet little moment when Adele stepped out of the jungle onto a paradise island and saw this scene. And honestly, I just wanted to try out a new style with a new brush. What a cutie it turned out to be! I think this is the perfect picture to wrap up the summer season.

Andy could’ve filled Donnie’s whole role. Loy could’ve been part of Eragon’s resistance. There were absolutely opportunities for these characters.

Been thinking about the way Remy portrays religion in the Kali books. I know very little about hinduism myself, so I won't go into the way she portrays Kali. Other people much more knowledgeable than me have done that already. What I was thinking about specifically is the way that Devi relates to her religion.

Devi KNOWS that her religion is powerful and real. She spends time around the avatar of a god. She knows that her entire destiny in the hands of a goddess. But she's always like "Ugh no I hate going to the services, I can't be bothered".

She never shows a hint of faith or devotion and it feels extremely dismissive and disrespectful of the Hindu faith to me. For devout religious people their faith is an important part of their identity and something extremely important to them, and it seems like Remy just can't get her head around how to write people who feel that way.

The Villain card deck is so annoying. Not only are several of the card characters not villains, but half the real villains featured were plot twists so their cards are a huge spoiler for those stories

I would have probably enjoyed Moonborn so much more if I hadn't seen that card before I played the story

I managed to finish Moonborn and Seduced by the Rhythm! I think SBTR was the opposite of Shadows of Saintfour and Elite Tag for me in that I hated the first two seasons but quite enjoyed the 3rd one.

I don't understand the plot of KFS or where Remy is going with it. It makes sense for the Dozen to try to get more power subtly and marrying someone powerful and cunning like Devi to the Govener General is a good way to do that... except Remy tends to favour bloodbaths over subtlety. It seems like rather than having Devi influence/manipulate/politically seduce etc Christian their end goal is to potentially assassinate him. What is that going to achieve? Here they have a guy who is progressive and is not unsympathetic to them and who cares about maintaining the peace, but instead of putting any effort whatsoever into diplomacy they're plotting to remove the guy.

What's the most likely outcome if they do that? Britain will immediately appoint someone else who is LESS progressive and sympathetic and has no ties to the Dozen, making the situation worse than when they'd started. There will almost certainly be massacres (depending on how obvious they make his murder). I know Remy loves a massacre, but I don't see how that is supposed to help Devi fulfil her purpose, unless it's a "make the situation SO bad that bloody revolution is the only option" sort of thing.

I've probably worded this terribly, so I do want to say that obviously colonisation is horrific and I'm in no way saying that people living under it shouldn't do anything they can to free their people. I'm just saying that overthrowing Christian would only result in him being replaced with someone much worse + retaliation so it doesn't seem like a sensible thing to hinge the plot on to me

Unfortunately it's nothing new, a lot of the old books are just as bad

Absolutely no variation of body type or facial features...

It's a shame that they seem to be reverting, but at least most of the recent books still give us a choice between body types now

I know this was talked quite a lot some time ago, but RC's newer MC sprites have the same face syndrome. I mean....

If you told me they were siblings, I'd believe it. 100%

Since most of the time I choose Asian MC, I checked out other sprites just to see if they have a similar issue.

Someone mentioned that Brown!Raina & White!Raina looked almost identical, so I decided to put their pictures side by side and.....

They were right. Just give them the exact same outfit & hairstyle, and they're the same person (well, sort of).

That got me second-guessing myself because MC sprites used to look different. Each type has unique appearance.

I'm only using Vyxaria, Lou, & Lane as examples, but I could tell these aren't the same MC, no matter which one you picked. And now most MCs look like carbon copies of each other.

I'dk what to feel, tbh. It's just that I can no longer enjoy the game as much as I used to because I can't remember MCs' faces. A me problem, I guess. 🤷‍♀️
