In his office, Jim Henson hung a “Shrine to the Almighty Dollar”—a comically-large dollar bill with a small pyre at its feet. Decorated with paint and pennies, it may have been “tongue-in-cheek” as the Henson Archivist writes, but what is a shrine? It is a place—a physical object—upon which to focus one's thoughts. Made in 1965 this paean to the “almighty dollar” is mounted next to Lisa’s Hensons desk.
