Hi Jen!! I'm not sure if you're still running this blog or not but in the hopes you are I was hoping you could help me! I would absolutely love to apply to the CRP but the only thing concerning me is the heat and humidity in the summer! I've heard it's pretty horrific and as a freckly English girl who sometimes gets a bit hot and sweaty I'm worried about how bad it would be! Did you find that you were outside in it much or did you have air con most of the time? Was the heat an issue? THANKS! :D
Hi there... I still am (in my head) but work has taken over my life atm. A lot of my job involves promoting the business through social media, meaning that my own has kind of dropped off the radar.
I'm not going to lie - it gets fricken humid. I started in April and spent the entire hot and humid summer outside while working. My favourite job was working in the chippy as it meant I didn't get rained on and had air con. I'm not the most sensible when it comes to being hydrated, I KNOW that I get dehydrated easily and still didn't do enough about it so there was a few near fainting incidents (even on my very first morning in Orlando!) You start to sweat in places you never knew could sweat. I used to tuck thick napkins into the waistband of my skirt to stop the sweat from running right down my legs (and avoiding the sweat patches of doom on the back of my skirt).... but none of this should stop you from applying. The humidity didnt bother me as much when I wasn't working as you can dress for it, it's just a bit tougher at work. But the bosses know we're not built for it, and you kind of just get used to being sweaty. Everyone's sweaty. That was for working in F&B, the Merchandise guys have it quite a bit different as most of their jobs involve being inside in the air con all day and rotating the person that's outside on the carts.
