So I was at Otakon 2025! For the first time I booked a hotel close to the event instead of having to walk a mile to get there- thankfully, my friend Tristan was willing to split the price with me. This was a weirder Otakon than usual- they need some policy changes to eliminate a lot of the 18 and up programming and panels, as well as as vastly reducing what vendors and artists could sell. Because of that the dealer hall felt a bit more empty than usual- Mangagamer didn’t show up, the large Doujin booths weren’t there, etc. this was also the first year I really noticed management enforcing the 50-50 rule for fanart versus originals in artist Alley, where artists must display 50% original artwork. Additionally, there was some after con fallout where the head of the AMV theater was removed from his position, which sucks, because the AMV theater is one of the best put together aspects of the show.

I was excited to see that there were actually two Ensemble Stars photo shoot scheduled this year after there were none last year. Both photo shoots were great with tons of people and great costumes and plenty of itabags. I was also given a Nazuna badge ribbon by a cosplayer!

In terms of purchases, I tried to keep it pretty simple. I bought some Enstars stuff like the Tetris Nui and the concert Blu-ray because they were priced cheaper than online. One thing I learned is that I’m very out of touch when it comes to modern BL- it’s all about Danmei and Korean stuff now, so I picked up some BL from outside Japan to start my studies.

イベントお疲れ様でした。

あっという間に１週間過ぎてしまった… 別館で少し遠かったですが欲しい本も無事に買えて楽しかったです。 お昼前で売るものがなくなってしまったので、今後大型イベントの時はもう少し搬入数増やそうかなと思います。少しずつイベントの活気も回復したようで良かったです。 スペースまで足を運んでくださった方、ありがとうございます。 お手紙や差し入れもご用意してくださった方もいらっしゃって、すごく嬉しかったです！いつも帰りまでにお菓子をちょっといただいてしまってお写真アップし損ねてしまうのですが、次回いただいた際はしっかり持ち帰ってここに載せられたらなと思います。 優しく声を��けてくださる方もいらっしゃって、とても励みになりました。買い手さんにも「ひいあい書きませんか？！」とひいあいヤクザしてしまった…笑 最近ひいあいにハマりました！というお声もちらほら頂くので、今後本を出す人が増えたら嬉しいです。原稿制作でわからないことがあればなんでも聞いてください〜！

感想も早速いただけてとても嬉しいです。 文章にするのも時間や手間がかかることなのに、素敵な言葉にして伝えて下さって本当にありがとうございます！絵文字をたくさん押して下さった方もありがとうございます〜！ 次回はサーバルの完全版を発行予定です。別の制作も何件かあるので早めに表紙を終わらせたいです。余裕があれば配信します。特殊表紙にしたいな〜ゲストさんもいるので本当に楽しみです！ 原稿が終わったら次の原稿が始まる… あと今年もメイドグッズを入稿したので21日以降に通販予定です。 去年のメイドグッズの再販は規約の関係で来月になる予定です。 あと大好きで尊敬する作家さんに先日お会いできてすごく嬉しかったです。絶対に会えないと思っていた方だったので本当に感激でした。 グッズにサインをいただいたり、素敵なプレゼントを沢山いただいて 幸せな時間でした…。 今年に入って本当に良い出会いが沢山あって嬉しいです。 全てのご縁を大切にできたらいいなと思います。

Today is the 3 year anniversary of the launch in EN for Ensemble Stars! We are now at the point where events are happening in EN that were happening in JP while EN was out, which feels crazy. The game isn’t perfect, with its rough translation and many glitches, but I’m happy. It’s still here and has no signs of going away- they even are moving up the Project Sekai collab before the end of the summer!

Onimusha 2 HD Complete! This is the only Onimusha game I have not at least tried before. In some ways, its a massive improvement over the original- the "dating" system gives it a lot of replay value, but a lot of it really is just parlor tricks that back in the day wouldn't have been as obvious- the town being super small, for example. The game is a lot easier than the original until you get to the Nobunaga boss fight, and at that point you have to spend 20+ healing items to beat him...

The flowchart your get at the end that shows all the branches made me excited to jump back for a second round!

なんやねんこの漫画は…

今週末頃脱稿予定です。 表紙のデザインを最高に可愛くしていただきました。 ゲスト原稿もさいこうにかわいいです。 日記場所の引っ越しをしたくて別のSNSを制作したので ここはアーカイブとして残し、今後は投稿しません。 今後の更新場所は7月のイベントのペーパーにて頒布予定です。 その後もイベント参加の際ペーパーなどで頒布します。 心機一転新しい場所では日記の他にゲームの話とか進捗とか、色々カテゴリー分けして残せたらいいなと思っています。 Tumblrは作品ログ置き場を新たに作り直そうかなとも思っていますがひとまずピクシブがあるのでそちらで良いかなという感じです。

なんやかんや前のジャンルとかからずっと使ってた場所でフォローしてる方の記事を見るのも楽しかったです。

Lord help me, with the death of Tribe Nine, I have re-installed Zenless Zone Zero for the first time since August 2024. Not sure I will stick with it but it’s the only Mihoyo game that didn’t violently turn me off within a week!
