I think around 2020-2021 I made a theory that the comforting sleepiness that we get when we lie down in the sun like cats was similar to what it would feel like being an instance of SCP-001-A. I stood by it and didn’t think much of it until yesterday while I was doing my daily research on the human body (I am interested in the biological sciences) I was like “why DO we get sleepy in the sun?”. I assumed it was something to do with us being warmblooded, similar to how if you catch a fly or any coldblooded creature and put it in the fridge for a bit, it’s metabolism goes down due to lack of warmth. However, there’s several reasons for our sun sleepiness. One of the reasons is because our body is repairing and replenishing damaged skin cells (which are caused by tanning or sunburn) and that takes up heaps of energy so we become really tired to preserve the required energy. Now, considering the fact that the SCP-001-A don’t experience negativity or pain (after they’ve melted, see “Orange Mind”, “This Cruel Moon”, etc) it’s actually a really good theory that I at first, haphazardly threw together. No pain, just comfort. The feeling of finally being able to rest your head.
