“Oh it most definitely does not suck to be me,” she replied, looking over at the other girl with something between a grin and a smirk. At least, that was true most of the time. Ask her at three in the morning when she was tossing and turning, trying to quiet the voices in her head, and it would be an entirely different answer. But it was easy to forget about that all in the cafeteria, where the voices of her fellow students would drown out even the loudest of shouts, something Lydia was more than grateful for. “It’s your lucky day because I chose to sit here, next to you, of all people. And if you’re new, then I can tell you who to be friends with, like myself, who to stay away from, who’s hooking up with who. Anything you want to know, really.” She typically wasn’t this open-minded when it came to new people, as her trust was hard to earn, but taking someone under her wing had always been something she couldn’t resist.
eyebrow arched at the response. hoping the redheaded knew she had been joking. nothing quite prepared her for the following offer, though. her blue eyes raked over lydia’s body. inspecting her in disbelief. actually taken back by what she had just offered her. confidence was attractive, but there came a point when it crossed the line into cockiness. davina was not fond of the latter. now she was hoping that the other was joking. she spoke like davina had been truly blessed by the others’ decision to sit next to her. that just sounded ridiculous in her head. help with homework ? sure, why not. help in knowing who was making out ? no. davina wanted normal, but she wasn’t a fan of gossip period. not to mention that being told who and who not to be friends with just did not settle with her. anyone telling her what to do pissed off the girl. she kept her temper in check though. with the slightest of frowns, she went on to quickly deny the offer. “ i’m pretty sure i can decide who my friends can be on my own. “

Sean had been putting all his energy into putting aside all this witch business. From his Father, to his siblings, and now even Nora and the others all in one place? He was being delusional, here. But, all that didn’t mean he wasn’t allowed to have a life of his own. Especially when it came to something that felt normal, yet familiar. Like, one night stands and having drinks with people. But of course, one of his many new siblings, Davina, wasn’t going to let that happen. And with this many affiliations to other people in Beacon City, how could he really expect anything but?
He looked between Davina, and the random girl he’d been trying to make moves on for the past half hour or so. He was more concerned with what Davina would reveal, in her temperamental state, yet looked to the other girl. “Sorry-” he began, apologetically. “Little sister.” Sean explained, whilst slowly getting up from the chair. “I’ll be back.” he excused himself, putting a hand to Davina’s back shoulder in order lead them away into a more private exchange. “Look, I’ve been laying low, alright?” he began to explain. “It’s not like you didn’t have my number. And, by the looks of it, nothing about you says ‘living in some seedy homeless shelter’, so I’ll take that as you doing pretty well for yourself.”
it did not matter how much davina attempted to distance herself from this all this witchy mess. she just couldn’t. it had a way of making its’ way into her daily life. gnawing the back of her mind. reminding her that she was far from normal. it was like the darkness was alluring, but the small witch liked to think she was stronger than the darkness. she was not her father.
sean. he was a different case. marcel had become her parental figure. her family, but the male before her had become a big brother. kol was just an annoyance. davina had come to care about sean. perhaps that’s why there was a small pang at her heart now that she saw him. despite those emotions, she still frowned at being called ‘ little sister ‘. lips ready to say something like : yeah, little sister that is going to kick your ass. davina didn’t quite get there before his hand was on her back, guiding her away from the poor girl ( at least that’s how she saw her ).
“ oh, i was not aware that the LITTLE SISTER had to keep tabs on her OLDER BROTHER. my bad ; i thought it was the other way around. “ she sarcastically pointed out the moment he tried to pin it on her. “ appearances can be deceiving, sean. you should know this by now. but, yeah, i’m fine. thank you for asking. “ she probably shouldn’t be this hurt over the separation since all of them had done it, but she couldn’t help herself. davina tended to feel everything, strongly, and she acted on it.

“Yeah, it’s kind of a trademark.” Isaac half smirked at her. It was a little showy, a little flashy, when it counted he wasn’t so dramatic. In fact, when it counted, he was typically quiet. But when it was pointless, normal, teen things, he could stand a little theatrics to cover up any kind of nerves he might have. The world was stranger than it was normal since he’d gotten the bite. He slid one hand into his pocket, the other coming up to adjust the strap of his bag as he gestured with his head. “There’s this place we call Burger Alley. It’s all the cheap places in town. Fast food. Not far from the high school. Like, five minute walk.”
blue eyes fell on the almost smirk. her own plump lips forming a smile that released a chuckle. well aware that isaac was really far from dramatic. that’s what made her actually be able to stand him in the first place. she already had dramatic in her life. she did not want someone making it more than necessary. davina was well aware of his secret, though. but ---- that’s what it was. a secret. not for her to speak of unless he wanted to. not like it bother her. if it did, she wouldn’t be walking beside him, actually excited about doing something so mundane like skipping school to eat. “ it would be less if someone was a normal teenager and had a car, “ she teased, walking out of the school. the slight wind ruffling her brown locks and dress slightly.

It was force of habit. Derek wouldn’t apologize for it. ❝Try McCall’s. Isaac hasn’t been here for a while. Figured anyone that was friends with him would know that.❞ Considering the way things went with Isaac the last time the two had spoken Derek wouldn’t have been surprised if everyone under the age of 20 hated him. (there was still a distinct possibility)
the look she tossed his way basically translated into : ‘ are you serious ? ‘ out loud, she said something different. “ i already tried that, and he was not there. “ he wasn’t here either, apparently. she also, already, couldn’t stand being before the superior male. something about people acting like they could boss her around did not sit right with her. “ thanks for, well --------- nothing. “ with that, she turned to walk away.

“Yeah, but is that magic trick gonna involve me using a hand? Cus if so then, I…” After careful thought, Stiles held out his left hand. He could live without his left hand if absolutely necessary. “If I lose a hand, you’re becoming my own personal witch, okay?”
lips fought a smile, but it was futile. a laugh even made it past the small crack. blue eyes rolling slightly at the slight dramatics of the other. “ okay. whatever. “ davina agreed without much thought, taking the hand into her possession. in her mind, he was just an oblivious human who knew nothing about magic. that’s why she was doing it. after closing his fingers, the tiny witch held up a single dead rose, which she crushed as she formed a fist around it. locking eyes with the human, she began to whisper a small incantation. “ open your hand. “ she order, releasing his hand, eyes fixated on the fixed rose that now rested in his hand. lips barely moving as she whisper two incantations: one to make it float and the other to cause a harmless fire to burst.

“Certainly not me,” Elena said, grinning at the other girl as she brushed her hair out of her eyes. Actually, she’d been planning to go to Whitmore, like her father had, but then they died. Regardless of how good the biology program was there, three hours was too far away when she was now in charge of the family business. If only she was paid to hunt werewolves.
“Born and raised,” she hopped over a crack in the sidewalk and glanced at the sky. That was the best part of living in a small town, the sky. Even in the city you could see the stars. “My family’s been here since the beginning of Beacon’s Harbor actually. Which sounds cool, but actually it’s just a lot of boring parties and fundraisers you’re obligated to go to.” Elena glanced back at Davina, “What about you?”
truth be told, davina hadn’t even given a single thought about college. she did not even know what she would major in if she got the chance. that’s why her ‘ fathers ‘ proposal had sounded inviting at first. get rid of witches. get rid of magic. some of them deserved to die anyways, but not all. not her circle. not marcel. plus, killing them would make her one of the few witches left. she would be back to square one, where magical problems overpowered college problems.
eyebrows arched as the brunette claimed to be part of the founding families. that meant she must know everyone in the town...--- “ i just recently moved here, actually. “ she pulled her wondering thoughts together. “ new girl, basically, so that’s why i was exploring the town. but, founding family ? should i be bowing in honor ? “ she asked, teasingly.

soft fingers brushed over the bracelets being sold at the festival. one of them catching her eye and she was about to ask the lady how much for it when she heard a voice from behind her. slightly furrowing her brows, the girl turned around, not at all prepared to have something thrown her way. davina barely had time to catch it before it could collide with her face. once she had recover from the small surprise, her eyes searched for the culprit and found it in a familiar girl: faye.
“ what the hell was that for, faye ? “

Jeremy stared at her painting, taking in all the details of it. It felt pretty spot on and it sent a shiver up his spine. “I like it,” he finally said to her after a couple of silent moments. “You did a good job, Dee.” He relaxed some and smiled at her, smoothing his hair back for a moment. It was weird to see that she had drawn the dark shadows all around him. Especially when he felt like he was being swallowed up by them all the time. “Much better than a giant scribble.”
arms crossed and eyes flickering between her piece of art and the male. she waited as patiently as she could for a reaction. the one she got had lips curving up into a proud, with a hint of cockiness, grin. chin even pointing more into the sky at his compliment. this was something she genuinely loved doing, so noone could blame her for taking pride in her work. “ thank you ! “ she replied, wrinkling her nose slightly, and turning around to put down her art tools. “ now it’s your turn. blow me away, jeremy gilbert. “

Glancing around for the table she had been aiming to sit at, Lydia simply shrugged and figured she might as well sit instead of going to an empty table by herself. “Just some idiot guy who asked me out a few weeks ago, except to him out meant making out in the backseat of his car all night. Which is fine, don’t get me wrong, but don’t make me waste an outfit on you if no one else is going to get to see it, you know?” She had picked up her fork as she talked, stabbing the few pieces of lettuce that didn’t look like they were wilting with it before setting it back down without taking a bite. “New, huh? Well, welcome to Beacon, it’s a hell of a place.” Not entirely meaning it literally, she turned a bit to face the other girl better. “I’m Lydia, Lydia Lockwood. And this is your lucky day.”
“ must suck to be you. “ sarcastic comment was tossed back. teasing smile already pulling at plump lips that had just released a small laugh. davina was not quite mocking her. she just found these mundane problems, well, funny. davina had never really worried about those type of things. her problems revolved around the magic community she had been tossed into without her permission. hell, she had never even made out with anyone in the back of a car. she just wished her life was that simple and normal. not filled with dark magic and plans to kill several people. despite not being hungry or the food looking appetizing, she grabbed a french fry and popped it into her mouth. eyebrow arching at her last comment. “ lucky day ? why do you say that ?? “

With the event of the Fall Brawl going on throughout the city, Sean shouldn’t have been surprised to cross paths with Davina. Looking up, he merely stared at her for a second, glancing between her and the random girl he was speaking to. “Hey-” Sean regarded her presence, whilst also maintaining whatever he had going with the stranger.
a lot had changed. she had that normality that she had craved : teenage drama, having exams tossed her every direction. yet ------- the shadow of the balcoin circle continue to loom over her. they had all parted ways, but there was this heavy feeling within her wondering what would happen when they would all be reunited. nothing good came out of darkness, and that was all they had coursing through her veins.
with a bag of candy in hand, davina maneuvered her way through the crowd. hoping to find some distraction among the people. what she came across made her freeze : SEAN. eyes blinked several times, as if trying to make sure she was not hallucinating. the sound of his voice just confirming she was not. “ sean. “ his name sounded a lot more like a question than a statement. eyebrows furrowing as she stepped forward. “ haven’t seen you in weeks and all i get is a hey ? “ he better pay attention to her, because she was already thinking about pushing the stranger in front of him to the side.

“Er, the barista is new,” Diana said with a gentle smile, holding out the cup that she’d been wrongly served towards a girl she didn’t recognize. “I think this is supposed to belong to you?”
features were unrecognizable to the girl that had come here to find HER. unknowingly standing before her half-sister. maybe if she had looked closely, she would be able to tell, but she didn’t. instead, nose wrinkled as she lowered the drink from her lips. “ ------ i already drank from it ? “ she admitted, offering the smallest of smiles. “ and this, definitely, does not taste like my pumpkin spice latte. “

Elena glanced around at the crowded house and shrugged her shoulders. “Matter of a opinion I guess.” But of course she was there too, and her reason was a lot less logical than getting out of the house. Who was she to judge? “Junk food beats just about everything,” she said as she pulled out her phone, sending Caroline a text explaining her abrupt exit. Honestly, Caroline was probably used to it by now, probably didn’t expect anything more than two hours out of her.
“There’s this great place on campus, c’mon.” She slid her hands in her pockets and buttoned up her denim jacket when they walked outside, the cool night air hitting her face. “One of the main reasons I applied here actually,” Elena said, grinning at the other girl. “Well the pizza, and the fact that I can drive home and drive my little brother insane whenever I want.”
with a chuckle, the younger followed the older. eyebrows arching as the other began and continued to speak. they had not even shared names, and already the other brunette was already speaking without a single break. it amazed her how easily people could open up. for so long, davina had remained with her circle, that she forgot what it meant to make friends.
she wanted that.
davina claire wanted to worry about applying to college and annoying her siblings. not worrying if her maniac of a father would rise from the dead and the course her siblings, with dark magic within them, would take. “ because who cares about the classes. “ she joked, returning the grin slightly. “ so, i guess it’s safe to infer that you were born here ? “ even while she was meant to be having innocent and normal fun, her mind was still filled with the missions of the supernatural world.

❝Believe me I’m not acting high and mighty.❞ He may have been presumptuious but, high and mighty weren’t Derek’s way. He’d learned his lesson a long time ago. ❝What is it you want then?❞
Derek wasn’t going to get into an argument with some kid— a child that he really didn’t know much about but, he did wonder why he seemed to have the luck of running in to everyone lately.
" then don’t speak to me like i’m a child. “ words were biting ; eyes were piercing. it did not take much to ignite that anger that resided within the female. despite her words, she was just a child. every emotion, she felt strongly. “ i came looking for isaac. is he here ? “

Jeremy snorted but kept still as best as he could. It was difficult not to fidget, but he understood, mostly. It was hard to draw something that kept moving sometimes. He’d tried it with birds, cats, and once with Elena when she wasn’t paying attention. But he’d never liked the way the drawings had come out. So instead he bit his tongue and stayed still until she stated she was done. “I’m not sure I am,” he laughed uneasily, stretching for a moment. “I’m afraid you’re going to see me as a giant scribble.” He stepped closer, hesitating for a moment before stepping around her easel to see what she’d completed.
blue eyes rolled slightly in response as her feet took a few steps backwards to give the male some space. davina had always been a creative person. her backstabbing mother had done one good thing for her : given her piano lessons. it wasn’t until she had moved in with marcel that she began to draw. it was just a way of expressing what words could not, as cheesy as that sounded. what she saw of jeremy was --------- different. she had him looking away. his face having no features. it was purely blank. shadows surrounded the male. drowning him or becoming him ; that was up for debate. quite honestly, the drawing was quite gloomy and, perhaps, creepy. with a little shrug, she finally spoke. “ giant scribble was close enough. “
