my advice or bringing it to the table for regular rpg fans is that you have to make sure they understand that they don't get a choice in being knights

their character has already done all the work to become a knight and almost certainly wants to be and keep being a knight. this takes some creative agency away from the players in character creation but is the base that the game engine runs on

It's messed up that the only legal kinship ties you can make are marriage and adoption. I think people should be able to legally make whatever kinship ties they want. What if I want to legally establish myself as someone's great-grandniece even though there are no other familial relationships between us? I should be able to do that.
